Camille's POV
I was on patrol on the second floor when Moaning Mrytle appears looking distort. "Is something wrong Miss Warren?" I ask her.
"Yes, Harry Potter and the red haired boy have discovered the entrance to the chamber of secrets. They entered it with Lockhart" she tells me.
"Where?" I ask her.
"My bathroom, I'd hurry" she tells me.
"Go inform Professor McGonagall, I will go after the boys" I tell her. And run to her bathroom. I arrive to see the sinks had moved about leaving a hole in the ground. "Here goes nothing" I mumble and jump in sliding down the pipe. I could see more pipes branching off in all directions, but none as large as this one. Which twisted and turned, sloping steeply downward. Iknew that I was falling deeper below the school than even the dungeons.
The pipe leveled out and I land in a puddle. I groan as I stand up looking at the large tunnel lighting my wand. I listen and hear a loud crash. I rush towards it to see an unconscious Lockhart and Ron shouting at a rock wall. "Harry?!" he yells concerned.
"Ron?! Are you ok?!" Harry demands from the other side.
"I'm fine" Ron assures him. "This git's not, though - he got blasted by the wand" he adds. "What now? we can't get through" he states.
"Wait with Lockhart. I'll go on... If I'm not back in an hour" Harry tells him.
"I'll try and shift some of this rock, so you can get back through" Ron tells him.
"Ok, see you in a bit" Harry says.
"Don't do anything reckless Harry" I tell him announcing my presence.
"Professor Prewett?!" Ron exclaims.
"We'll move the rocks, you be careful and don't do anything reckless" I tell Harry.

"Sure, take care of Ron" he tells me and I hear him walk away.
"So what happened to this idiot?" I ask Ron pointing to the unconscious Lockhart.
"He tried to use a memory charm on us with my broken wand. It back fired and causes the cave in" Ron explains.
"Wonderful" I drawl as I look at the pile of rocks in front of us. "So I take it you know what the beast is?" I ask as I start to move the rocks from the top.
"Yes, it's a Basilisk" he states.
"No wonder someone killed Hagrid's roosters, a rooster's crow is fatal to a Basilisk" I tell him. "Anything else I should know?" I ask him.
"Lockhart is a fraud, he admitted it himself" he tells me.
"Oh do tell" I tell him.
"He said his books wouldn't of sold as well if people didn't think I'd done all those things. No one wants to read about some ugly old Armenian warlock, even if he did save a village from werewolves. He said" he states.
"So he was taking credits for what other wizards had done?" I ask him.
"He tracked the people down. Ask them exactly how they managed to do what they did. Then he put a Memory Charm on them so they wouldn't remember doing it" he explains.
"Otherwise, all those wizards would have gone blabbing. And he'd never have sold another book" I state. "Oh I can't wait to tell everyone" I tell him. "Now help me with these rocks and only take from the top or there might be another cave in" I tell him. He nods his head and starts to help me make a hole for Harry & Ginny.
(Time skip)
Lockhart woke up with no memory what's so ever. I put him in a corner so he wouldn't hurt himself or us. Ron and I had finally made a hole big enough for a student to crawl through. At some point Fawkes appears with the sorting hat and flew through the hole. "Wait, do you hear footsteps?" Ron asks me. Suddenly Fawkes flies through the hole and lands on my shoulder.

"Ron! Professor Prewett! Ginny's okay! I've got her!" Harry calls.
"Ginny!" Ron exclaims and helps her through the hole. "You're alive! I don't believe it! What happened?" he demands while hugging her. I help Harry through the hole.
"We have better go to McGonagall's office, Myrtle was going to tell her what happened" I tell them.
"What about Lockhart?" Harry asks me. We go back to the chamber we arrived in.
"The Memory Charm backfired. Hit him instead of us. Hasn't got a clue who he is, or where he is, or who we are. I told him to come and wait here. He's a danger to himself and others" I explain. Lockhart peered good-naturedly up at them all.
"Odd sort of place, this, isn't it? Do you live here?" he asks us.
"No" Ron tells him. "Have you thought how we're going to get back up this professor?" he asks me.
"Oh I have a few ideas" I tell him. "Fawkes, can you?" I ask looking at the others. He nods his head. "Ginny, grab Ron's hand. Gilderoy, you hold Ginny's other hand" I instruct.
"She means you" Ron tells him.
"Harry hand me the sword and hat, then grab Fawkes tail feathers. Hold on tight" I tell him.
"What about you?" he asks as he hands me the sword and hat.
"I have my own way up" I assure him. He took hold of Fawkes's tail feathers. In a rush of wings, they were flying upward through the pipe. I take out a broom and return it to normal size. I flew up the pipe after them.
"Amazing! This is just like magic!" Gilderoy shouts. I roll my eyes. We arrive in Myrtle's bathroom and the sinks close up behind us. I clean myself and them with a wave of my wand. Then lead them to Minerva's office.

If Milton is to survive long enough to find answers, he must first be strong enough to confront his worst enemy: himself. * This is work in progress and NOT professionally edited. * ** This story is humorous in the begining, but gets very dark around the turning point.
