《Camille Lupin the Unicorn》Detention in the Forest

Camille's POV
A lot has happened. Hagrid's dragon had hatched and Draco Malfoy saw it. Harry and Hermione gave baby Norbert to friends of Charlie Weasley. So that they could take him to Romania. I would of done it, but there have been more attacks on unicorns. Once I arrived to late and the unicorn was already dead. So I'm working harder to prevent that from happening again.
I also spoke to all my students who needed to be talked to. They are now studying harder and it shows in their work. Which is good with exams approaching. Anyway tonight Harry, Hermione, Neville and Draco are doing detention with Hagrid in the forest. While I'm in unicorn form with Firenze scouting the forest.
We find a pool of unicorn blood and I paw the ground angrily. "Calm Majesty, we will find him before it's to late" Firenze assures me. Patting my neck and I calm down. "Mars is bright tonight" he tells me and I roll my eyes. I look up at it and I suddenly see red sparks shot into the air. I take off galloping towards it along with Firenze.
We find a scared Neville and a laughing Draco. I trot over to Neville and nudge him gently as Draco looks at me in awe. "A unicorn" Neville says relaxing. Hagrid appears with his cross bow.
"What happened?" he demands and relaxes when he sees me.
"Malfoy scared me and I shot sparks into the air. This unicorn calmed me down" Neville explains feeling confident.
"Thank you Majesty, return to your mission" Hagrid tells me. I bow my head and return to Firenze. As Hagrid took Malfoy and Neville back to the other two. Firenze and I continue our search until we hear a boy scream. We galloped towards it and he scares away a cloaked figure as I stand in front of Harry horn lit. The figure leaves and I approach the dying unicorn.

"Are you all right?" Firenze asks Harry as he helps him up. I kneel beside the unicorn putting my horn to its injury. Willing it to heal and it does so slowly.
"Yes -- thank you -- what was that?" Harry asks him.
"You are the Potter boy" Firenze states as I raise with the weak unicorn. Two more appear and guise it back to the herd. So that it may regain it's strength. "You had better get back to Hagrid. The forest is not safe at this time -- especially for you. Can you ride? It will be quicker this way" he tells him. "My name is Firenze" he adds as I approach nodding to my back.
He picks up Harry placing him on my back. As Ronan and Bane came bursting through the trees, their flanks heaving and sweaty. "Firenze, what are you doing?" Bane demands. "You place a human on Majesty's back! Have you no shame? Is she a common mule?" he demands. I glare at him.
"Do you realize who this is?" Firenze shots back. "This is the Potter boy. The quicker he leaves this forest, the better" he states.
"What have you been telling him?" Bane growls. "Remember, Firenze, we are sworn not to set ourselves against the heavens. Have we not read what is to come in the movements of the planets?" he asks him.
"I'm sure Firenze thought he was acting for the best" Ronan tells Bane. As he paws the ground nervously. Bane kicked his back legs in anger.
"For the best! What is that to do with us or unicorns? Centaurs are concerned with what has been foretold! It is not ours or the unicorns business to run around like donkeys after stray humans in our forest!" Bane roars.

I rear up on to my hind legs in anger. Harry had to grab my neck to stay on as I neigh angrily. "Did you not see that unicorn?" Firenze bellows at Bane. "Do you not understand why it was injured? Or have the planets not let you in on that secret? I set myself and Majesty are against what is lurking in this forest. Bane, yes, with humans alongside me if I must" he states.
We gallop away with Harry on my back, holding tight. Once we were far from the other two, we slow down. "Why's Bane so angry? What was that thing you both saved me from, anyway?" Harry asks Firenze.
'Harry Potter, do you know what unicorn blood is used for?' I ask in his mind. He looks around surprised.
"It was Majesty, answer her" Firenze tells me gently.
"No, we've only used the horn and tail hair in Potions" he tells me. I snort, I knew that. But I'm surprised they haven't learnt what unicorn blood does.
"That is because it is a monstrous thing, to slay a unicorn. Only one who has nothing to lose, and everything to gain, would commit such a crime. The blood of a unicorn will keep you alive, even if you are an inch from death, but at a terrible price. You have slain something pure and defenseless to save yourself, and you will have but a half-life, a cursed life, from the moment the blood touches your lips" Firenze explains.
"But who would choose such a life?" Harry asks us.
'Can you think of no one Harry?' I ask him.
"You mean that thing out there, the thing that attacked the unicorn. Was Voldemort?" Harry asks us shocked.
"Do you know what resides in the school at this very moment Potter?" Firenze asks him.
"The Philosopher stone" Harry says in realization.
"Harry! Harry, are you all right?" Hermione asks as she appears with Hagrid, Draco, Neville and Fang. I kneel down so Harry can slip off my back as Harry assured her he is fine.
"The unicorn's alive, Hagrid, Majesty healed it and it left with other unicorns" Harry tells Hagrid. He gives me a grateful look.
"Harry Potter" Firenze says getting his attention. "This is where we leave you, you are safe now" he states. "Good luck, Harry Potter. The planets have been read wrongly before now, even by centaurs. I hope this is one of those times" he adds. We then leave the group. We soon went our separate ways and I turn back into a witch returning to the castle. I fall asleep exhausted.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
