Camille's POV
It's the Christmas holidays and I gave Harry back his father's invisibility cloak. That Dumbledore had given to me for safe keeping after James' death. I give Hermione a book on charms. Then gave Neville a drawing book to draw plants in and make notes on them. I gave Remus chocolate and a new cloak.
Speaking of Remus we had breakfast Christmas morning before going to see our parents. Afterwards I went with Augusta and Neville to see Alice & Frank. Neville doesn't know I'm his godmother, just that I'm friends with his parents. On Boxing day I had lunch with Charlie in Romania before spending the afternoon with Hermione and her parents.
When I returned to Hogwarts the day after Boxing day Dumbledore called me to his office. "Morning Dumbledore, have a good Christmas?" I ask as I sit down.
"Quiet enjoyable, but I called you here about Harry" he states.
"What's happened?" I ask him concerned.
"Nothing, he has discovered the mirror of Erised" he explains.
"And you fear he may cling to his desire" I say and he nods his head.
"I am having the mirror moved tomorrow, to protect the stone. No doubt Harry will be there tonight" he states.
"I'll go speak to Harry" I assure him.
"Thank you Camille, anymore dreams lately?" he asks me.
"Not really only two deaths since Pandora Lovegood's at the beginning of the year. Tilly Toke and Arcturus Black. Both from old age" I tell him shrugging. "I'm going to discuss the schedule for next term with Flitwick" I add before leaving.
(That night)
I made the familar track to the room where the mirror of Erised resides. I have gone there nearly once every year since my employment. Wishing that my desire could of been a reality, but I know it never will be. When I arrive Harry is already there sitting in front of the mirror staring into it.

"Back again, Harry?" I say and stands to face me surprise. "I see that you, like so many before you. Including myself, have discovered the delights of the Mirror of Erised" I state as I stand beside him. "I trust by now you realize what it does, what is shows you. Let me give you a hint. The happiest person on earth would look into the mirror and see only them-self, exactly as they are" I explain.
"So it shows us what we want, whatever we want?" Harry asks me and I chuckle.
"Yes and no" I tell him as I look into the mirror. Looking back at me is Sirius and I still holding a baby girl. "It shows us nothing more or less than the deepest, most desperate desires of our hearts" I explain.
"I see my parents and a bunch of other people surrounding me" Harry states and I give him a gentle smile.
"Now you, who have never known your family, you see them standing beside you" I tell him. "But remember this, Harry. This mirror gives us neither knowledge or truth. People have wasted away in front of it, even gone mad" I explain."That is why tomorrow it will be moved to a new home, and I must ask you not to go looking for it again. It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live" I tell him.
"I won't look for it again" he assures me. "Professor, what do you see? When you look into the mirror?" he asks me.
"The family I always wanted with the love of my life. The family I can never have" I tell him. "Now return to your common room, before I deduct points" I add. I turn from him and look back into the mirror. I look into the baby girls grey eyes. "I'm sorry, you'll never live my little star" I say as I place a hand on the mirror.

"You handle Harry well Camille" Dumbledore states as he steps out of the shadows. "But I think you to must forget this mirror" he tells me.
"I know, it's just hard to forget what could of been" I tell him. "I still love him with all my heart, no matter how much I hate him for what he did to Harry and his parents" I state.
"I doubt your feelings for him will ever change" he tells me. "But it does not do well to dwell on dreams and forget to live" he states. I smile remembering I just said that to Harry.
"I won't forget, see you in the morning at breakfast" I tell him. I left the room not looking back once at the mirror. It's time I let the future I dreamed of with Sirius go and moved on. And that's what I'll do, I will focus on teaching and protecting the kids I care for.
