《Cynthia gets Flushed Away》Chapter 1

Kali and her friends were driving in the car when they had arrived in Kensington England. They were super excited to be visiting to watch the world cup finals, England vs Germany. Plus Cynthia's parents were kind enough to let the gang stay at their holiday rental house during their visit.
"It sure was nice of your parents to lend us their holiday flat to watch the game" Teeders told Cynthia.
"Yeah your parents are awesome Cindy!" David added.
"Oh they don't mind, really, just as long as you guys don't break anything" Cynthia replied.
The gang soon arrived at the apartment building and entered Cynthia's family rental house.
"Whoa Cynthia when you said this place was a flat you didn't tell us it was this big!" David said, impressed that it was much bigger than a normal apartment room.
"Yeah this place is huge, just like your house" Brock added.
"Yes, before we added on" Cynthia complemented.
Cynthia then went to go change her clothes while David ran over and jumped on the couch. The other teenagers came into the living room to find their seats, (David took up most of the space on the couch). David was getting a little over excited since he was a big soccer fan. He was even wearing his England soccer team T-shirt. Kali went to the fridge to get some punch and some food, while David grabbed the remote and turned on the TV to the sports channel.
"Wahoo yeah i'm ready to watch some soccer!" David cheered.
"You mean football" Ann corrected.
"What? No this is soccer" David said. "No it's football!" Brock protested. David and the twins soon got into a little argument about the sport being called soccer or football, when Teeders whistled to get their attention.
"Actually you're both right" Teeders told them. "Huh?" David and the twins gave Teeders that look of confusion.
"While we may call it soccer in America, the rest of the world knows it as football" Teeders explained.

"Wait a minute, why do the English people call it football anyway?" Brock asked.
Teeders paused for a long moment then replied "Hmm, I don't know". Being stumped on that question, which rarely happened to her on any question she was given.
"Who cares" Kali said while opening a family-size bag of potato chips.
Just then Cynthia came out into the living room. The gang turned to see Cynthia make an entrance, all glamorous wearing a purple flare dress and high heels.
"Uh Cynthia this is a soccer game-" Kali started. "Football!" The twins corrected.
"Whatever" Kali said to her siblings before she turned to Cynthia. "What's with the rags?" she asked teasingly.
"It's a flare Kali, and if you haven't known being a lady i'd like to look my best" Cynthia replied while combing her hair back and showing off her dress, before she went to the bathroom to do her makeup.
Kali rolled her eyes, being tomboys she and Teeders weren't at all the least bit interested in dresses or any of that junk which Cynthia adored. The gang waited for Cynthia while watching the TV commercials.
"So what do you plan on doing when you get back?" David asked Kali about her future plans.
"Well as soon as we get back, mom and dad want us to get ready and pack up for the move" Kali sighed, a little unhappy.
"Wait, you guys are moving... AGAIN?!" David seemed shocked.
"Yes, somewhere along off the upper east coast called Adventure Bay" Kali explained.
"I wish mom and dad would just make up their minds and let us stay in one place" Ann pouted, considering how many times they've move from California, to New York, to Oregon, you name it. But the good news is they've made a ton of friends during their adventures.
"I've had strange dreams lately where mom and dad forced us to move to a place called Springfield, where the citizens are yellow" Brock mentioned.

"Wait a minute, why would all the people be yellow?" Ann asked her twin brother about his dream. "I think it's cause they may all have Jaundice" Brock replied.
Suddenly the gang heard a dramatic loud scream coming from the bathroom. Cynthia rushed out coming over to the others. "What's wrong?!" the gang panicked for a moment.
"Well just look" Cynthia told them. "I don't see anything" Brock and Ann replied.
"Exactly, i'm out of makeup!" Cynthia said while the rest of the gang groaned in response.
"I have to go to the store immediately, plus I think i'm starting to get a unibrow" Cynthia pointed out. She wouldn't watch the game until she took care of her problem.
"But we'll miss the game" the twins complained.
"I'll come with you" Kali told Cynthia with a short grumble.
"We'll all go" Teeders said, before she turned to David who was still on the couch watching the TV. "You're coming too" she told him.
David started to groan "Oh for the love of-"
The gang asked Cynthia to take off her dress and change before they'd go, but she said it would take too much time. And it didn't help the rest of the gang that Cynthia wouldn't stop whining the whole time. They were just passing by an alleyway along the street when Cynthia spotted a rat run by which freaked her out, making her jump and drop her purse.
"AH! Oh I despise those vermin little pests" Cynthia said, disgusted.
"Oh come on now Cynthia, it's just a little rat" Kali told her over dramatic friend.
"Yeah, i'm sure he's just looking for food" Brock added while he tossed a few bread crumbs from his sandwich to the rat, which the rat happily took. Cynthia cringed just having that smelly street rat look at her before it took off.
"You know rodents live a much harder life than you Cynthia. Not everyone can be rich with their own private jet and the world's biggest closet" said Teeders.
"And they have feelings too" Ann added about the rats. "Whatever" Cynthia muttered.
"You know most rodents are descendants of NIMH, they're a lot smarter than you think" Kali said, remembering how many decades ago her maternal grandmother helped Mrs Brisby and the rats of NIMH.
"What about Mickey Mouse?" Ann asked Cynthia.
"That's different. Mickey's cute and funny and doesn't carry the black plague with him that nearly killed all of Europe!" Cynthia asserted.
"They're in the same family unit though" Kali told Cynthia, about mice and rats.
"Say, don't you're neighbors from down the hall have a pet rat?" David asked Cynthia.
"Unfortunately... yes" Cynthia shuddered before she continued "But why should I care about rats? They're ugly, and they smell, and they carry diseases!" The fashionista started to gag.
"Like you?" Brock joked, which caused Cynthia to growl at him in anger.
The others started to laugh and make fun of Cynthia, saying how she was too afraid to get dirty on all of their adventures. Kali's crystal then strangely started flashing with it's glow.
"Why's your crystal glowing like that?" Ann pointed out.
An aurora of lights started swirling around the young teenagers, lifting them up off the ground slightly.
"What's happening!" Cynthia felt a little panicked, when suddenly there was a flash as the crystal glowed brightly.
The gang woke up feeling pretty dizzy. Kali tried to look and see if the others were okay, but her vision was blurry for the moment. Wondering what happened to them, but feeling pretty dizzy, the teens started swaying, back up near a gutter drain. Losing their balances, they all fell down into the gutter. It was pitch black as a current of water swept them through the drains on a rapid ride. They were tossed around so much, getting hit in the head a few times that the young teenagers got knocked out. While the water current continued to carry them into places unknown.

Tales of the Willful Autonomous Nanobot Generator
Due to over-engineering and poor parenting; a nanobot generator is sent into the wider universe, ready to solve any and all problems...though probably not the way that was intended, or even hoped for. This story is a first time attempt to use a literary device I came up with, where I use 4 randomly selected songs to write short stories. As such there really won't be any cohesive story thread between chapters. If this gets traction, the likelihood for reader polls to influence the next story are high.
