C H A P T E R

THIRTY-NINE:

"Taehyung! I can't believe we're late," Jungkook yells, struggling to pull on his shoes. Taehyung just sighs, looking up from his phone at his boyfriend, "you look really pretty baby," Taehyung mumbles, blushing a little. Taehyung felt embarrassed. He really did. How could his pretty baby look that beautiful. Compared to Jungkook, Taehyung almost looked like a wannabe instagram model that could only catch a couple of follows.

Jungkook finally pulls on his shoes, standing up straight to look at Taehyung, "and so are you. My handsome," Jungkook sees, leaning down to kiss Taehyung on his nose.

Chuckling, Taehyung's hands snake around Jungkook's waist, pulling him. Stumbling onto Taehyung's lap, Jungkook shrieks, his own hands finding their place on Taehyung's shoulders. "Somehow you keep finding yourself on my lap...it's a sign," Taehyung jokes, squeezing Jungkook's waist a little. Rolling his eyes, Jungkook presses the softest, most gentlest kiss on Taehyung's lips ever, pulling away before the older could capture his lips in a more messy and rough kiss.

"No Taehyungie," Jungkook whines, moving away from Taehyung, walking over to the other side of the room to pick up his phone, "look, we're already late as it is. Let's leave now."

All Taehyung wanted to do, was to spend the rest of the night cuddling with Jungkook. But now, he was being forced to go to some stupid party and sit there for like five hours pretending to have fun. Jungkook sighs, pulling Taehyung to his feet, "it's not some stupid party. It's a party for you and your peers, which are also my peers. So let's go."

Did Taehyung say that out loud?

"No you didn't, I just know what you're thinking. Now come one Taehyung," Jungkook whines, feeling more anxious as each second passes. Taehyung grabs Jungkook's hand, holding it in his tightly, "come on baby, let's go." Jungkook smiles, and kisses Taehyung's cheek, before grabbing his phone and room key card.

The two of them walk out together, holding hands, as they walked down the dark empty hallways. No words being spoken, they just found themselves enjoying each other in the silence. This is what it was supposed to be. It was supposed to be comfortable. Comfortable with each other at all times. They didn't feel the need to speak when not needed. It was just perfect knowing that each other's presence kept them at comfort and peace.

After a few minutes, they reach the hall, and see that the party is already in full swing. Music protruding from the closed doors, lights flashing. If it wasn't a school party, it would be a perfect student house party. Jungkook looks at Taehyung one last time with a smile, before pushing the door open and stepping in. The hall was warm, probably from the amount of people, and the many different lights flashing. Red, green, blue, purple. The lights reflecting on everyone and everything casting a coloured glow on everyone, creating a more sensual feeling to the party.

Jungkook looks over to Wendy and Hoseok, who are dancing closely together, the two laughing and just having the most fun ever. Yoongi and Jimin were nowhere to be seen, and Jungkook concluded that they were most likely making out in a random, dark and empty corridor where no one would find them. Namjoon and Jin, right at the back, dancing together in their own world, away from everybody else. Just enjoying each other's company as they danced, laughed and even shed a few tears. Jungkook looks around the hall with absolute awe.

"They did a good job at making this hall just feel nostalgic," Jungkook mumbles over to Taehyung who's already walking over to the snacks table.

Mood.

Jungkook huffs and follows after his sleaze of a boyfriend. Seriously, this is the guy he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Could he reevaluate his answer? Because he was slowly beginning to regret everything that he's said before about wanting to be with Taehyung. Just kidding, Jungkook loved the older, even if that meant loving the fact that Taehyung was so antisocial and barely wanted to do anything that took up more than an inch of his effort.

So basically, he was like every basic teen of the world. Big whoop.

Taehyung picks up a drink, handing it to Jungkook before taking one for himself. Taehyung finds a seat, before pulling Jungkook onto his lap. The younger huffs with a little, "umph" at the feeling of being dragged onto Taehyung's thighs. Wiggling around, Jungkook gets comfortable on Taehyung's lap, throwing his head back slightly, resting it on the olders shoulder, allowing the music to calm and relax his nerves as the two rested in each other's calming presence.

With hooded eyes, Taehyung watches as many of his friends are running around dancing with each other, or secretly pulling out a flask and drinking it in a corner before hiding it away, or laughing a loud, throwing their heads back with laughter. And that's when Taehyung's eyes shift over to his pretty bunny that was resting on his lap.

The two were sitting right at the back, away from everyone else, just resting alone.

And that's when Taehyung realised how different he and Jungkook were... compared to everybody else. They didn't like talking to people, looking at people, or just being in the same room with people that they barely talked with. How many times would you see Jungkook and Taehyung even breathe the same air as someone other than each other's, Jimin's, Yoongi's, Hoseok's, Jin's, Namjoon's and of course, Wendy's.

And that's when it hit Taehyung, that maybe they wouldn't have fun just sitting here like two helpless sods. That they would have much more fun on their own. Biting his bottom lip with thought, Taehyung tries to think of something fun to do with Jungkook. And then that's when the second realisation exploded in his empty mind like dynamite.

The perfect thing to do.

Glancing at the exposed windows of the hall, looking out into the dark night, Taehyung grins when he sees the rain absolutely smashing down onto the ground. And then he glances at one of the speakers. Bingo.

"Hey baby, how about we ditch this stupid party and have some fun of our own?" Taehyung asks, gently standing Jungkook up.

Jungkook, who was very close to falling asleep says, "I swear to God if we leave and you say that we should fuck, I'm leaving you," Jungkook warns, taking a sip of his fruity punch. Taehyung chuckles in return, just shaking his head.

"Do you trust me?"

"...no. But I love you."

Taehyung grins, "that's good enough for me. Come on!" Taehyung takes Jungkook's hand in his, dragging the younger, clueless boy with him as he made a straight beeline for one of the Bluetooth speakers. With a pant, Jungkook says, "Taehyung! What are we doing in the loudest area of the room?"

Taehyung looks to his left, and then to his right, and then does a 360 turn, before gripping one of the speakers and disconnecting it from the laptop. Jungkook gasps, and watches as his boyfriend gives him a knowing grin before running off, out towards the corridors.

Jungkook helplessly follows after Taehyung, not wanting to lose the older. "Taehyung!" Jungkook yells with a pant, the only sound in the empty hallways was the padding of his feet against the marble, and the soft breaths falling from Jungkook's lips harshly.

And then the cream of a door opening is heard, and the rain from the end of the corridor is heard, and Jungkook grins. He's confused, but it's okay, because he found Taehyung.

Contemplating on what to do for a moment or two, Jungkook is a second too late. Because music starts playing. And it's not the same music that's playing from the hall. It's the type of music that just makes you feel every moment. Every. Single. Damned. Moment.

“I don't like walking around this old and empty house. So hold my hand, I'll walk with you my dear,”

Jungkook giggles, and starts running towards the open double doors. The music from the hall dampening, and getting quieter, meanwhile the beautiful chords of little talks by of monsters and men get louder and louder.

Jungkook stops at the entrance of the doors, and watches with a smile as Taehyung stands in the heavy rain with his arms outstretched, his body already soaked with the cold, hard rainwater. Jungkook shouts out with a laugh, "what are you doing Taehyung?" And the older doesn't response with words, and replies with twirling around in the rain, stomping in some puddles, before he finally shouts over, "ten years ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life," he pauses, and watches the smile slowly fall off of Jungkook's beautiful face.

"And ten years later, I can thank myself for making that mistake. Because now, I am so immensely happy. Happy with you Jungkook. You are my everything," Taehyung yells out, his arms falling to his side. And Jungkook chokes out a sob, watching how amazing his boyfriend looked standing in the rain. Black hair sticking to his forehead, white shirt no longer baggy, and rather showing off his toned body, beautiful tan skin dowsed with droplets of water from the sky.

"Taehyung! You're going to fall sick, come on inside."

Pause.

The chorus of the song plays as Taehyung stares at Jungkook with the utmost amount of love and passion. And Jungkook's words are caught up in his throat.

As if it happens in slow motion, Jungkook brings himself away from the door and shelter. And slowly steps out into the rain. Body immediately being pelted with heavy raindrops, Jungkook loses the thread of controls he's holding onto, and starts running to Taehyung in the rain. Throwing himself onto Taehyung's body, Jungkook wraps his hands around the olders neck, pulling him in.

With wet hands, Jungkook holds Taehyung's face in his fingers, bringing the older closer, "ten years ago, my best friend left me all alone." Taehyung's body freezes, and his arms find their way around Jungkook's tiny waist, squeezing slightly, to let the ethereal boy continue. "Ten years later, I'm thanking that boy for leaving me, because now I am so happy. I'm happy with you Taehyung. Because you bring me everything good in this world and so much more," Jungkook's voice falls to whisper. So quiet that Taehyung has to lean in closer to hear.

Jungkook pants slightly as he scans Taehyung's handsome face. Every second that passed, Jungkook felt as if he was falling deeper into the hole that he called love for Taehyung. And he didn't want to try to escape anymore. Because this hole was no longer something dark, deep or scary. It felt like home.

Taehyung chuckles, loudly screaming, "I love you Jeon Jungkook!" He then picks Jungkook up, twirling him around, to which Jungkook loudly laughs, throwing his head back as he looked up towards the dark night sky, but quickly shutting his eyes when the rain starts falling into his face.

Jungkook's places down onto the ground again, and he laughs as he runs from Taehyung to stamp in some puddles. The music still playing as the two ran around and danced underneath the moonlight with each other's company. Taehyung was right, this was so much more better than any lousy party.

Jungkook walks over to Taehyung, hips slightly swaying. He's consumed with the sensuality of the moment, and now all that he sees in his mind is Taehyung. Walking over to the older, Jungkook pries Taehyung's hand to his waist, before slightly pulling the older boy in, as the music slowly comes to an end, Jungkook whispers, "I love you."

And silence. The only thing heard was the pattering rain, the irregular pants coming from both of the boys as they kissed each other, forgetting every single thought as they lost each other in the feel of their lips moving rhythmically against one another's. See this, this was one of their unforgettable moments.

Just absolutely breathtaking.
