SIXTEEN:
Taehyung's hands travel from Jungkook's waist, to under his black shirt, running his hands up and down. Jungkook let's out a soft moan, and pushes himself upwards with all of strength to overpower Taehyung. Taehyung grins, holding Jungkook tightly, he pulls away to stare at the doe eyed boy. Jungkook blushes, trying to hide his face. Taehyung takes in a deep breath when he realises how pretty the smaller boy looked in his arms, "I've been waiting weeks to kiss you. And now it's finally happened," Taehyung said, pressing his lips against Jungkook's once more before pulling away.
Jungkook smiles slightly, "you do realise that we're going to have to be mature about this. Talk about it, get in touch with our feelings and figure out what we want to do with each other." Taehyung plays with Jungkook's red hair as he chuckles, "I'm like the most emotional man to ever exist, so don't you worry," Jungkook gives Taehyung a stern look, "Taehyung! I'm serious. Our lives are not a cliché romance book, there's not going to be any "it was a mistake" or "i love you, but have to leave you". I'm taking this very seriously," Jungkook finishes off.
Taehyung sighs into Jungkook's neck, "can't we just enjoy the moment?" Jungkook rolls his eyes, unwrapping himself from Taehyung's tight hold.
Taehyung begins to play with Jungkook's hair, "I liked your hair better when it was natural.." Jungkook scoffs, "don't think that just because you said that my hair looks better natural I'm going to run home to dye it back for you." Taehyung's laugh bursts out from in between his lips before he could get a grip on it, his smile widens, forming a sort of boxy look when he sees Jungkook stare down at him with distaste, "don't worry...I know that if I want you to do something, you'll do the absolute opposite."
Jungkook gets up, and walks over to the window, closing it, "I just don't want anything to go wrong. I want to take this seriously. I don't want to be upset over the fact that we didn't be mature, and talk, figure out what we want and who we are. What if we end up doing stupid things that we can't make up for. And just because we didn't talk."
Taehyung sighs, and walks over to Jungkook, his tan hands hold Jungkook's face, and Jungkook feels all of his worries being washed away when Taehyung says, "you don't have to worry Kook, we have so much time to figure out everything." Taehyung walks away, rummaging in his suitcase for a hoodie, he throws it at Jungkook, "it's cold. When you head out wear that."
Jungkook doesn't catch the hoodie and it lands on his head. Jungkook stands there with the hoodie on his head for a few seconds, nice, how romantic, he thinks, pulling the thick material off of his head. "Thanks, but where am I going exactly?" He questions, sliding the black hoodie over his small frame. It fits Jungkook like a oversized dress, falling at his knees. Jungkook sighs and internally curses his small body.
"You're going to fix things with Wendy." Jungkook stares at Taehyung with doe eyes and before he can speak Taehyung flops around on his own bed, before saying, "a lot of things must be going on in your mind right now. Like a lot. But the first thing you want to do is speak to Wendy. Don't make the same mistake I did ten years ago. " A soft, warm, jelly like feeling rises in Jungkook's heart, but he pushes that away and sighs.

Jungkook brings his sweater paws to his face, before heading over to Taehyung's bed, sitting on the edge. "You're right Taehyung. I have so many things running around in my mind. I don't know where to start."
"So start at the end, and make your way to the beginning."
Jungkook slightly shifts to face Taehyung, "what do you mean?" He asks, looking directly into Taehyung's blue eyes. "Sometimes, rather than struggling to find the beginning, you just go backwards, from the end. Step by step, no matter how long it takes, you'll get there. And once you get there, you'll be able to see that the end was just the beginning, disguised by confusion, heightened emotions and stress."
"Okay...I think I understand what you mean..." Jungkook says, the hesitation in his soft voice as clear as day.
Taehyung softly presses his hand against Jungkook's back, running up and down slowly, Jungkook shivers.
Jungkook was at a loss. He didn't know where the end, middle or start was. And now he was more confused than ever. Life just kept throwing things at him, and now he didn't know whether he should accept it, fight against it, or stay away from it.
With Wendy, he had always had a strong love for her. But he knew now that she was happy, his problems wouldn't seem as a priority for her. But all of Taehyung's words made it seem different.
And with Taehyung, opening up the slightest caused the two to kiss, and now it was like the wedge between them had lifted, after all those years, and now the two were less awkward and more touchy feely with each other. Thinking about it, Jungkook didn't know how to feel.
He said clearly that he didn't want anything to be turned into a sob story, a cliché romance book, but the more he strayed away from reality, the more he realized that if it wasn't cliché, it would be even more complicated to figure out.
And that's when it hit him, that Jungkook had no idea just who Taehyung was, and it was the same for Taehyung. The two were merely comfortable because they knew each other for what they saw, not for what they truly analysed.
Jungkook's mind boggled from one thought to another, if it isn't a cliché story, and it isn't complicated, then what's to make from it?
------
"What are you thinking about?"
Jungkook is still sitting with Taehyung, and now the night was in full swing. Jungkook sighs, "I think I'm going to see Wendy like you said," Jungkook walks over, wrapping a scarf around his neck. Taehyung places his phone down next to him, looking at Jungkook with a frown, "now? Isn't it too late? You should have gone before."
Jungkook shrugs, fixing his floppy hair before opening the door, "like you said, I shouldn't make the same mistake you did." The small boy doesn't allow Taehyung to respond, and shuts the door softly. He takes a deep breath, and starts walking. In a matter of minutes, Jungkook is at Jin and Hoseok's door. Hesitantly he raises his hand, and knock.
The door flies open so quickly that Jungkook can't even comprehend the events that follows.
"Jungkook! My baby!"
"...Jungkook? OH MY GOD! Someone grab him before he leaves!"
"What are you doing here? I don't care, I missed you so much!"
Jungkook is dragged in by Jin, and then is pushed down onto the ground, allowing all three of his friends to jump on him and smuggle him.

"Do you have any idea how much I missed you?!?!"
"I'm so sorry, I'll be a better friend!!"
"Bitch if you ever leave again, I will choke slam you to the other side!"
Jungkook's face is pressed against the ground, and suddenly Jin's loving nature turns a tiny bit aggressive. Jungkook coughs, "oi-carnr-breev!"
Jin flops on top of Jungkook in tears, "oh look at that, he's so choked up and upset!"
Hoseok grabs Jin by the shirt, and ploughs the blonde boy away from Jungkook, while Jungkook's body starts to feel numb. His limps burning, he sits up to face Wendy, Hoseok, and a Jin, who's blubbering like a baby.
Jungkook tilts his head with a soft, knowing smile, and Wendy immediately understands what Jungkook is trying to say, and rushes by his side, hugging him tightly, "I'm so sorry," she whispers into Jungkook's ear. Jungkook shakes his head, "no...it's me, I was being stupid and was so caught up in my own shit that I acted impulsively."
Wendy moves away from Jungkook, smiling at him, "so...let's forget this ever happened, and let's talk about something else. I understand Jungkook. You just want to make sure you're okay before you help everyone else. I understand that, Jin and Hoseok understands it. We're all here for you, in any way you want."
Jungkook almost cries from the words that fall out of Wendy's mouth, he puts his head on her shoulder, thanking God for the fact that he allowed Jungkook to cross paths with Wendy, Jin and Hoseok. "I don't even know how to thank you enough Wendy..." Jungkook begins, playing with the strings of Taehyung's hoodie. Wendy laughs, "you don't need too. Plus, if I was going through what you were, I'd want the same. My mum used to say, give, what you want in return. And I never understood until now."
Jungkook smiles brightly, watching as Jin and Hoseok jumped up and down squealing.
"Jungkook?"
"Hmm?"
The cherry haired boy turns to his best friend, and sees that she's looking down at her nails, fiddling with them. "What...what made you change your mind? Like what made you think, I made a mistake?"
Jungkook thinks over what happened a mere twenty minutes ago, and even though the words were in his mind, he couldn't bring himself to speak them.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I just want to know," she says when Jungkook doesn't say anything. And then it hits Jungkook that the whole reason why he felt like crap was because he didn't tell his friends anything. So he shakes his head and says, "I had a talk with Taehyung...and he showed me that pushing friends away, only make the situation worse. So he told me to get all of you back." Wendy smiles and leaps onto Jungkook, "thank god you listened to that douche for once, otherwise I don't know what I would do."
Jin and Hoseok decide to sit down with Wendy and Jungkook. Jin sniffles, "I can't believe the gang is back together."
Hoseok laughs loudly, his eyes shining, "what do you mean it's literally been two minutes?" Jin glares at him, his blonde hair falling in different directions, "actually it's been two hours, twenty two minutes and three seconds...if we're talking facts. AND IT WAS THE WORST TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE!" Jin over exaggerates like usual. The blonde boy lunges over to leap onto Jungkook, but before he could, Hoseok drags him away, sighing loudly.
Jungkook's eyes widen, "jeez Jin, I'm sorry, I'll never leave you for another two hours again." Jin stops shouting and screaming, and smiles brightly, "great! Thanks! Anyways, is that a new hoodie you're wearing?" Jin quickly changes the subject, pointing out Taehyung's hoodie that was placed on Jungkook's smaller one.
A rosy tint appears on Jungkook's cheek, and he just nods. Wendy pokes at the material, "I've literally never seen that hoodie before. And I know that because I always steal your clothes." Jungkook looks at her with a glare, "I knew it! I knew you were the one stealing them! You clothes thief," he yells, crossing his arm.
Now, Hoseok picks at the material, "...and it definitely isn't your size...and your barely ever wear hoodies like this," Hoseok continues, flicking one of the strings from the hoodie upwards.
"...it's Taehyung's," Jungkook says softly.
All three of his friends fall silent, and for once, they have nothing to say. Slowly, and creepily, they turn their heads to look at each other. It's silent. So silent that you could hear a pin drop from five miles away.
And then,
"BITCHES! I WIN! KISS MY FLAT ASS!"
Wendy screams, holding her hands out, "RUN ME MY MONEYYYY!" She yells even louder, dancing around. Hoseok and Jin groan before taking out some notes and slapping the money in her small hands. She gives them a wink before happily shoving it in her pocket.
Jungkook sits there with confusion as the three argue, and try to discuss the bet. That is until Jungkook shouts out, "What the fuck is going on here you dipwads? And why is Wendy draining you guys out money?"
The three pause, frozen in their spots. They had forgotten that Jungkook was sitting right next to them.
Jin stares at the ceiling. Wendy looks down to her feet, scratching at the nail polish on her toe nails. Hoseok tries to quickly look away but he catches Jungkook's eyes, "ah fuck!" his shoulders slump, and the red head groans. Jungkook smirks victoriously, "so, Wendy's dear dear dear love, tell me, what's going on?"
Hoseok quickly spits out, "ages ago we all made a bet at how quickly you and Taehyung would get together. Wendy says that she won but I feel differently and Jin is just in it for the fun of it!" Jungkook rolls his eyes, "me and Taehyung are never going to get together. I don't like him."
"Ah...shit. Here we go again," Jin mumbles, scratching his blonde hair.

The Gatekeeper
Quick Synopsis:This is the story of Reylor, a god-like existence who lost a great portion of his strength when accidentally sent from his “home” to another world. Making friends and learning to harness to power of magic, he maintains his commitment to his prior duty and proceeds to fight against corruption, both on a political front and against what is known as the shade.(Note, this story focuses on action and adventure, so politics are not in depth) This has been my first novel, which was primarilly inteded as a learning experience, and so it may be a bit rough in regards, but it should definitely be readable and it is a full story. I may make some adjustments to it later on, but there's no guarantee... anyhow, it's free to read, so give it a go! Also, feel free to check out my new website: aretornovels.wordpress.com
