SIX:
It was the day that Jungkook's class were leaving for the residential, he was all packed and ready to leave the comfort of his own home for a month. Jungkook stares out of his wonder, looking at all of the rain falling from the sky, and splashing into puddles on the concrete slabs on the ground. "I swear it's a sign that I shouldn't be going," Jungkook mutters to himself, grabbing at the scarf around his neck tightly, already feeling the cold, even thought he was outside. Jungkook shivers, feeling extremely cold.
"Maybe I can say I caught a cold, and I can no longer go?" But the minute he asks himself that, an image of Wendy surfaces in his mind, and he starts to feel very guilty. Sighing, he moves away from the window. Jungkook definitely can't get out of this.
"Jungkook! Jungkook? Are you ready to leave?" Jungkook's father pokes his head into Jungkook's room, "yes dad, I'll be down in a minute," Jungkook replies, smiling at his father. His father returns the smile, and heads downstairs. Jungkook decides to look at himself in the mirror, "you just had to pick geography, didn't you?" He asks himself, shaking his head.
He then leaves, grabbing his suitcase and bag, descending down the stairs. He places his big suitcase at the bottom of the stairs, near the front door and heads into the kitchen where he sees his father making breakfast for himself and his mother. "It's going to be a long drive Jungkook, so make sure you eat."
Jungkook nods, his throat stating to feel dry, he opens the fridge and takes out a bowl of strawberries, slowly starting to eat them one by one. After a while Jungkook sees his mother walk into the kitchen, her feet shuffling, sleep dust in her eyes. She rubs it away, kissing his father on the cheek, before ruffling Jungkook red hair.
She sits down at the table, yawning loudly. Jungkook also sits down next to her, "mum, if you're still tired you should go back to sleep and get some more rest." She shakes her head tiredly, "no! I have to see you off! I'm not going to see my baby for a month!" She says, taking a sip of the coffee Jungkook's father handed her.
Rolling his eyes, he continues to eat his strawberries, "mum relax, it's not like I'm going away forever, plus your body needs to repair itself, so get some more rest," Jungkook worries about his mother, watching her hands shake as she picks up the coffee cup and takes another sip.
She doesn't say anything - sighing, Jungkook then says, "plus, I'm leaving now anyways, so go on mum."
Sighing she stand up, "fine. Gosh there's no winning with you, you're exactly like your father."
Jungkook chuckles, and hugs his mother, he closes his eyes tightly, already missing her warmth even though he hasn't even moved away from her. But when his eyes open, he catches a lot of loose hair all over his mother's back, "mum, you've got loads of hair on you..."
Chuckling she says, "yeah...it's what comes with getting old."
They say their last goodbyes, and Jungkook is on his way to school, where he was going to be leaving for a month long residential away from home. To say that he was scared, was the absolute least.

"It's so freaking cold, I'm freezing my ass off," Wendy says, huddling closer to Jungkook, the two trying to get some warmth from each other. Jungkook shivers, the cold running from his bare fingertips, squeezing past his thick coat and on to his skin like another layer of clothes. "If I don't get into that bus in the next minute I swear I'm lighting it on fire and laying in it," Jungkook shivers, his teeth chattering.
Wendy's lips tremble as she laughs, "I wouldn't mind setting something on fire. Like fire is so pretty. With all of its colours..." Jungkook turns to Wendy slowly, "you...you don't have a fire kink...do you?" He asks, wearily, a weirded out expression on his face.
Wendy slaps his arm, "what? No! Shut up!" Wendy doesn't meet Jungkook's eye contact, looking away from him. Jungkook throws his head back in laughter, "well you learn something new everyday," Wendy's mouth opens in shock and she goes to slap the back of Jungkook's head.
But in that moment, the rain pours down, drenching. Screams from other students were heard as everyone tried to get some shelter, but Mrs. Wilson comes running out in a pig puffer coat, with a clipboard and a really wet piece of paper, "calm down students! The last suitcase has been bagged and we will now be boarding the coach. Please get into pairs, and stand in a line."
Everyone tries to get in pairs but it ends up being chaotic. "Wendy, we need to stick together, everyone's acting like they haven't felt rain before." Wendy nods, grabbing onto Jungkook's arm tightly, moving to stand in line.
"Oh my god, Jungkook?" Wendy and Jungkook turn around to see Jimin smiling, Yoongi standing next to him, an arm around his boyfriends waist. Wendy's mood immediately changes, "Jimin! I didn't know you were in this class!" Jimin chuckles, trying to snuggle into Yoongi, "yeah...I transferred with Yoongi, I'm definitely not missing out on this trip." Jungkook stands there in confusion, "wait...so they just let you transfer?"
Jimin shrugs, "I guess because we had the right grades they let me and Yoongi here transfer," Jimin looks over at Yoongi, "right Yoongi?"
Yoongi snaps his eyes up when he hears Jimin speaking to him, "yeah baby," he grumbles out, his voice and whole demeanor looking tired. Jimin smiles at him warmly, "sorry, he's tired. I had to almost drag him here because he was refusing to come."
Jungkook smiles softly, "you guys are made for each other," Jimin blushes, and Wendy just squeals, "if I don't have a relationship like you and Yoongi then I don't want it."
Namjoon appears with Taehyung, and they stand best Yoongi. Jungkook's smile drops when he sees Taehyung, and his eyes avoid looking at the tall boy in front of him. "Namjoon? You're coming to."
"Yeah, I'm new but they still allowed me to come so that's good."
"Alright students! It's time to board the bus. Start from filling the back to the front!"
Because Jimin, Yoongi, Namjoon, Taehyung, Wendy and Jungkook were the first ones in line, they start by quickly moving to the back of the coach. "The back of the coach is literally the best place to sit," Jimin shrieks, quickly sitting down and pulling Yoongi down next to him. Namjoon reluctantly took the middle seat.

The coach was built so that there was five seats in the back, and then rows of two going right up to the front. However in the back, the first two rows had seats facing the back seats, meaning that you would be sitting opposite someone else.
Jungkook stares at the last two seats, deciding to save them for himself and Wendy, but someone shoves him to the side, and he sees Taehyung push past and take the window seat, leaving the seat in between free. Jungkook opens his mouth to speak but Taehyung glances at uninterested, before slowly lifting his feet, back against the window, placing his legs on the empty seat.
Jungkook bites his lip and tries to move over to sit in front of Jimin. "Why is the coach built like this?" Jungkook groans.
"Jeon Jungkook sit down where you are and stop faffing!" Mrs. Wilson yells from the front of the coach. Slowly, but reluctantly, Jungkook sat in front of Taehyung, his mood down. Wendy huffs and sits next to Jungkook, a sour expression on her face.
This was definitely going to be a long ride.
------
"Wendy...can I tell you a weird dream I had?" Wendy takes out one of her earphones to look at Jungkook with tired eyes. So far, they had been in the coach for about two hours, and there was at least one more hour of driving before they got to the site. "Yeah go on then Jungkook," Jungkook quickly glances at Taehyung who was scrolling on his phone with his earphones in, before turning to Wendy again.
"Well, you know that one episode of Rick and Morty, where Rick turns into a pickle and goes flying while saying, "I'm pickle Rick"," Wendy nods slowly but surely, not knowing where the conversation was going, "well, I had a dream that my dad was dressed up like a pickle, and he screamed that he was the real pickle Rick, and then he went flying," Jungkook finishes off. Wendy stares at Jungkook with confused before she bursts out laughing, catching the attention of Namjoon and Jimin.
Yoongi was sleeping with his head on Jimin's shoulder, while Jimin read his book. And Namjoon was dozing off while reading a newspaper...a newspaper. Sometimes Jungkook really thought that Namjoon was an eighty year old man living in an eighteen years old boy's body.
"What are you guys talking about?" Jimin asks, holding Yoongi's head up carefully while he turns to face the two. "They're talking about Jungkook's weird dream...of his dad turning into pickle Rick."
Jimin snickers, "you think that's weird? I had a dream that Yoongi turned into a kitten and tried to dominate me as a kitten. I mean the only thing he did succeed at was coughing up a furball." Jimin throws his head back in laughter but his laugh fades away when he sees that no one else is laughing. But they are staring at him with a type of disgusted expression.
"Not funny? Should've kept that one to myself," he mumbles.
Namjoon then decides to direct the conversation about his own dream, "Jungkook, you think that's bad...well I had a dream that a book opened up and swallowed me whole before the Cheshire cat tied me up and forced me to grin like him."
Wendy snorts in laughter, "trust me Namjoon, that doesn't compare to my dream. I had a dream that Woody and Buzz light year tried to set me up with Mr Potato head, but it failed drastically and Mrs. Potato head found out and I had to fight her."
The four of them then begin to share weird dreams with each other, laughing and having fun, however it's short lived when a deep voice grumbles, "I had a dream that you guys would all shut the fuck up."
Jungkook's eyes motion from Namjoon who was cut off by Taehyung's deep voice.
And then it hit Jungkook, that was the first time he heard Taehyung in like...well ever.
Butterflies erupt in Jungkook's stomach as he realizes how attractive Taehyung's voice is. Like it double whipped, and spread smoothly like butter on toast. Jungkook slowly looks up at Taehyung, looking at him properly for this first time in the whole day. He sees how tired Taehyung looks, his eyes puffy and drowsy.
Taehyung feels Jungkook's hot stare and meets his eyes. But it doesn't last long, and he quickly looks back at Namjoon, "I can hear you guys over the music, so shut up."
Jimin rolls his eyes, "didn't know we needed sir highness' permission to talk," he mumbles, looking down at his nails. Taehyung glared at Jimin, closing his eyes. His black hair in curtains, with little waves, bouncing every time he moved. A strand of hair was out of place, Jungkook longing to reach over and smooth it into its position.
"We're here anyways," Jimin says loudly, looking out of the window. The whole coach becomes alive with chatters as everyone tries to catch a glance of the site outside. Taehyung sits up, a frown on his face.
Jungkook averts his eyes away from Taehyung, as the all focus on trying to get out of the coach, and to get their luggage.
"Students! Comer gather around me here so I can read out your partners and room number! I'll read out the boys one first, and then the girls. Sally here, will direct the boys to their cabins, and Susan will direct the girls.
"Okay so first off, Adam and Zyker. Baekhyun and Chanyeol. Darius and Emanuel. Hyungwon and Ilya. Jungkook and Taehyung. Karter and Lee."
Jungkook's heart drops as his frantic eyes meet Taehyung's, this time, his eyes equally as shocked at Jungkook. Wendy nudges Jungkook, "why the hell are you guys partners? She literally said your name and his!"
Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung. Jungkook thought with wide eyes.

Summoned against his will to a world of swords and magic, an engineering student struggles to find a way home under the shadow of a world devouring threat. ***************************** Updates: 5/13/19: Revisions to several chapters for clarity, grammar, and style. 4/29/19: A short side story and artwork has been added to the blog. 4/8/19: A Side Story has been updated on my new blog (every writer is required to have one). https://talesfromliahar.wordpress.com/ ***************************** “The summoning scenarios are broken down into groups of ten.” Emi Ito stated. “Don’t, don’t you dare say another word.” Muttered Genzo Uchida. His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region

The Archaic Elements
A fantasy world, its own unique power-up system, some mystery aspects to make it look interesting and an MC that should make sense but well messes up, cause plot. Flashy fights. Characters will use their brain, unless it is an arrogant young master that needs to be taught a lesson. The starting is slow and maybe boring. The main MC does not desire great strength or harbor any great ambition. He starts out as a naive, lazy and a boring person. But the story does hold one aspect which will fuel the growth of our MC, which is his boundless curiosity for adventure and his will to explore. The second MC is a reincarnation/transmigration and he has a clear cut aim that he needs to achieve. His past life experiences also becomes a pillar that will help guide the main MC, while his friend also supports him. The writing is slow and steady. I will provide reasonings behind most happenings and keep it a logical story. It's a WIP as I edit the previous chapters even as I release more, so while the content doesn't change, the style and smoothness improve. The current release rate is 3 chapter/week. There is no specific date as I can get sidetracked or forgetful., but I will try to stick to Tues, Thurs and Sunday releases.
