Do you get that moment of inspiration that drives you to do something academic?

I got inspired by absolutely nothing last evening but I managed to finish one of my assignments last night. I sat up all night to finish it and I got no wink of sleep.

Wide awake I sat on the carpet with two textbooks and several papers along with my MacBook. I saw the sunrise today, I tend to miss that scene every day but I got lucky today.

I was about to get up I heard someone knock on the door. I walk to the door and opened it partly to see who it was.

"Hey." I see Jasper.

"Hi." I smile.

"I was-I came to ask you if you'd like to come with me to drop the twins off." He looks at me.

"Won't James be alone?" I ask.

"Don't worry about him, mom is taking him with her to work. She needs to make sure he takes his medicines." I looked down at my feet.

"We could grab some coffee and breakfast after we drop them." He suggests. I look up to him and gave a small nod. "Coffee will help me right now. Give me ten minutes." I tell him, he nods in response and then I close the door.

The words that mothers know best are apparently very true. Sarah was worried about her children falling sick after letting them out in the snow but it was only little James that got affected by the winter breeze.

I warm up quickly with a warm shower and dressed in a sweater dress with leggings and ankle length boots. Taking my handbag, I leave my room. I could hear the twins talking downstairs.

"Morning guys!" I greet the twins.

"Morning!" Jessica greets me. "You'll get to see where we study. Our school looks like those in Britain." She gets all excited. "Ignore her excitement. She's always excited about school because she's going to see Dylan, like any other day." Jesse tells me. "Oh shut up Jes." She punches him in the arm.

"Do you two have to be like this before you guys go?" I ask them.

"Trust me, Holly, it's a mystery as to how I survive with her." he gave a quick scowl at Jessica, so did she but before she could respond, Jasper came and the conversation just went silent.

The twins made their way out of the house, I followed them and Jasper followed us after he locked the door. Jessica and Jesse sat at the back which meant I would be in the passenger seat.

I sit and secure myself with the seatbelt, by then Jasper got in and put on his seatbelt. He starts the engine and switched on the radio. The twins started to sing along to the song as Jasper drove out from the driveway and headed to the main road.

It felt different to finally get out of the house after a week but I definitely needed the sleep so I won't complain.

It wasn't a long ride; Jasper parked his car among all the cars in the school's parking lot. "Last day of school." Jasper turned around and looked at them. "Have fun!" He gave them a thumbs up.

"I still don't get why we were to have two days of school this week," Jesse complained. "You're going to get days to play your games." Jasper told him.

"See you later, Holly." Jessica tells me as she opens the door to leave. "Have a good day." I smile.

Jesse and Jessica got off the car and I watched them walk to the entrance. Reminded me of the days I was dropped to school in the morning after eating breakfast alone. I sound like a miserable lonely girl but that's a fact of my life.

We were back on the main road and since I had no clue of the place I was in, I had no idea where Jasper was driving to. I could trust him a little and know that where ever he was driving to would be a good place.

We rarely spoke. When we did, I would want the conversation to go on for a much longer time. A silent yet a caring guy Jasper is and it's good to be around such kind because their feelings are still genuine.

Jasper parked the car in an empty parking spot done a road. He looked at me and gestured that we were to get down here. I unbuckle my the seatbelt and got out of the car. Jasper came to the side I was standing.

"There's a cafe right around this corner. It would be difficult to find a parking there," he tells me, I give a small nod and we started walking in the direction that the cafe was on. It was cold; I positioned my beanie properly on my head and continued to walk down the shovelled sidewalk. We turned near the corner and I was welcomed by the smell of fresh coffee when a man walked out a door. This was the place.

Jasper held the door for me; he joined me after I stepped in. The cafe wasn't very big but it was cosy for a cold winter morning. We stopped at the counter and I read the menu that was in front of me.

A latte with a smoked turkey bagel sandwich or a latte with smoked turkey grilled sandwich?

A chicken grilled sandwich sounds good too.

A grilled sandwich sounds better for today. Whatever comes to my mind at the moment I shall order.

It was our turn next, Jasper was standing behind me but since we were to order, he stood beside me. The lady at the counter greets us with a good smile.

"Morning lovelies, what would you like to have?" she looked at us with cheer.

"One medium latte with a chicken grilled sandwich." Jasper and I simultaneously told her. We looked at each other for a second and then we went back to the lady at the counter.

"That is two medium latte and two chicken grilled sandwich for you two?" she asked us.

"Yes." Jasper confirmed the order.

Maybe I should change mine to turkey.

The lady nodded her head and gave the small paper to a man standing beside her. "This one for the couple." she tells him. The man walked into the kitchen to prepare our order.

"You know, not many go on morning dates," she says as she calculated our order and looked at us. "You're not like the usual."

"We're not on a date, we've got an assignment to work on, that's all." Jasper answers and pulls out his wallet to pay, I stop him.

"How much has it come to?" I ask the lady, politely.

"Ten dollars," she replies. I take out a ten dollar bill from my purse and hand it over to the lady. "It always starts with an assignment these days." she shook her head and placed the note in the cash register. The man came back with our tray and the lady handed the tray to Jasper. "Enjoy your meal!" she smiles, I gave a small smile in return.

Jasper found a spot in the corner of the shop. He set the tray on the table and took a seat. I took my seat opposite to him and took my coffee and looked outside at the tiny shops.

"Wasn't she a strange one?" I heard Jasper ask.

"Yeah, I do not get as to how people presume that a guy and a girl dating when they might be just having a simple breakfast as friends." I say and take a sip of my coffee, he chuckled.

"The coffee is good though." I smile a little and take a sip of it again; he nods and takes a sip of his coffee.

"So, how was the first week of your winter break?" He asked me.

"It's good." I reply.

"You don't regret accepting my offer at all." he looks at me.

"As I've said before, your offer wasn't deniable." I look at him with a smile. "You let a stranger be a guest in your home so that she has a good Christmas this year and so that the assignment has a good plot." he laughed a little.

"Thank you." he stopped laughing and took another sip of his coffee. "You don't have to thank me." he told me.

"Do you have a plot that would interest people to read your work?" he asked me as he lifted his sandwich. "You could say I'm picking up on something," I reply and took my sandwich in my hand.

We talked more after that. About his life in the library and about my unpopular yet popular life. No matter how many times I was told that this boy sitting in front of me is not interesting and had no life, everybody in the University had a wrong impression of this boy. He was no different from them. He liked soccer, had a young heart and a very cheerful person.

Each time I was around him, I felt different and it felt good to be around him. I was comfortable around him. I wasn't sure of what it was but I knew one thing, he was a genuine person.

An hour later, we decided to leave. We had no other work to do so Jasper decided that we would drive around the town and try and entertain ourselves.

As we walked back to the car, Jasper stopped me.

"You're not only a guest, you're a friend."

"Where did this come up from?" I chuckle and ask.

"You told me that you were a stranger and that you are a guest in my home." I nod. "You're not a guest, you're a friend of mine." the world around me became still, all I could hear is Jasper and see his deep blue eyes twinkle. "Do you remember when you asked me what we were when we came here?" I look at him, wondering where all of this suddenly came from. He opened the door of the passenger side. I seated myself and waited for him to close the door but he stood there and looked at me.

"For some weird reason Holly Anne, we're going to be more than just partners."

He closed the door and walked to the other side to get into the car. I was silent, I looked out straight ahead and waited for him to start driving.
