《Burn Archer》Six- First Evening Away

I was quite young when I had found out that a significant part of me had been a lie. She had a face as white as snow. I guess deep down inside I knew the truth but I wasn't ready to face the fact that my sister didn't share the same blood as me. I wasn't heartbroken. I was simply stunned.
That's exactly how I felt right now. Stunned.
Ivory chuckled staring down at her feet. "Yeah, I forgot to tell you one tiny detail. I'm the princess of Zeig but trust me, it's no big deal."
"Oh, it's a big deal alright, the princess of our planet had been captured for months and now she has returned. Everyone's going to be questioning you." Garry glanced down at me with a hint of pity in his voice.
"They'll be lucky if I don't end up punching someone because of the questions." Attention. What an awful way to get people irritated.
The spaceship kissed the ground almost motionless and the entrance opened its' mouth to reveal a magnificent palace with emerald waves flooding the garden.
My eyes flinched at the sight of the crowd who were electrified, awake, soaring to new heights of emotion. In a thousand sorts of aliens, there wasn't a single frown or expression of doubt. Their princess had returned. Ivory wasn't the same cheerful, talkative bunny anymore, but she seemed so elegant.
Inside the energies in my soul is the insecurity buried deep within them, corrupting them. My dirty ripped jeans and cardigan. I couldn't present myself like that. I stretched my fingers up as they severely tangled in the messy, raven black curls that lapped and devoured my hands like a nest of black mambas.
I felt Ivory lightly squeeze my hand as she whispered, "Just have a confident face and attitude like you usually do, and you're going to look beautiful."
I smiled as my feet stumbled out of the spaceship. I straightened out my clothes and confidently walked ahead. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder followed by a hollow voice booming through my ears.
"You're going the wrong way, go that way," he announced pointing into the direction of the palace.
My pace fastened as I tried getting away from him to cover my flustered face. Once we reached the entrance, the wolf soldiers bowed to us and we continued walking. Werewolves. Whoa.
"You both should get dressed appropriately so that you can officially present yourselves in the hall in the evening," Garry explained. "Your rooms have already been set up for you; the felvs will take you there."

Was it just me or were we following two aliens called Felvs that looked exactly like large walking lizards? The palace fitted perfectly with the description of a royal palace on Earth. Someone like me could only dare to dream to live in a place like this.
The atmosphere was electric as people buzzed around us as we strolled through the palace. I bet its for the meeting in the evening.
"At the moment, both of your rooms are being prepared so the princess and the other young lady are going to have to have a bath in the lady's bathroom of the palace," one of the lizards explained with a hoarse and croaky voice.
The bathroom was exquisite. There were cubicles attached to each marble wall with curtains that had a Celtic design woven in gold and green into the fabric itself.
They turned to face us. "Your clothes for the evening meeting will be laid out here by the time you finish your bath." And with that, they spun around and exited our presence as quickly as they had come in.
"I honestly stink, I need to take a shower ASAP," Ivory murmured.
"Alright," I said as I stepped into the shower, toes flinching as they touched the chilled ceramic floor. I slid my clothes off my shoulders as my eyes narrowed at the knob. It had a mini screen under the single knob. I unscrewed it but no water came out from the shower above.
"Ivory, why isn't any water coming out from the shower?" I shouted as I heard my voice boom back into my ears.
"You need to put your finger on the black screen so that it can determine your mood and set the water temp according to that," she shouted back.
My finger tip kissed the screen lightly, and the water suddenly lashed out from above causing my lifeless body to take a step back and slip pressing my bare skin on the marble floor. Every body part flinched as the warm water trickled down.
Ivory's laugh echoed into my cubicle. "Everything alright there?" she asked cheerfully.
I punched my fists into the ground and tried regaining my balance. "Yup, just had a little fall."
My body got accustomed as thousands of lukewarm drops got released, darkening my hair and trickling down my back.
After an hour in the shower, I stumbled out of the cubicle and slipped into the clothes that the felvs had laid out for me. Ivory had already gotten dressed in a beautiful pink gown and her furs were brushed.

"Awe, Ivory you look adorable," I heard myself saying.
"Thanks, it's the first time my people are seeing me after a long time" she replied as she stumbled out of the bathroom. "I'll wait for you outside the bathroom; it's too stuffy in here."
"I'll be out in a sec."
These fabrics were finer than I could ever afford.
I gazed at my reflection but I didn't see what my Mommy saw. I didn't see what my friends saw. Instead of chubby I saw slim and instead of cute she saw plain.
If Mommy was by my side, she wouldn't have let me look at myself for this long. A sick feeling climbed onto me as I thought about my worried parents. I forcefully pushed the thoughts aside as I focused my eyes to my dress.
An old-fashioned puffy black dress. Yuck, these sleeves were too long, and the dress was too heavy and fat.
Without thinking I ripped the sleeves off and pulled on the puffy outer layer of the dress and it showed itself as a plain black dress.
My smile turned into a frown as I cursed myself when I realised how I small and skinny I was. I looked no older than a thirteen year old.
As I slipped out of the bathroom, Ivory jumped at the sight of me.
Oh seriously, did I look that bad?
"Oh, you scared me Burn-" She stopped for a second and looked at me astonished. "Oh my, you look great. And what you've done to the dress is fabulous! You little rebel," she exclaimed clapping her paws.
"Thanks, but my hair is still in my towel and I have no shoes to wear," I complained staring down at my bare feet.
"That's where we're going next," she replied with a wink.
We strolled over to the room next to the bathrooms. Two young Mayas stood at the entrance blocking our pathway in. Both of them were unbelievably good looking, one with platinum blonde hair and the other who's skin was the most beautiful raven I had seen, just like Garry had said.
I felt like ripping my own skin off and shredding it to a million pieces.
The two of them gazed at me from head to toe, making insecurity burn on my skin.
"She's really small and skinny?" one of them said.
"But she is quite short," the other replied.
"Okay, I'm standing here and you're talking about me," I said through my clenched teeth.
They both stared at me for a few seconds. "How old exactly are you?"
"15," I replied as I curled my hands into a fist, my nails digging into my palm, ready to punch them.
"Well she has a pretty good height for a human girl then?"
One of them reached out to my face and tugged my skin. "Her skin's like a golden tan colour."
I slapped her hand off and glared at her.
"We're still much more beautiful," she continued. I wanted to argue but I knew that she had spoken the truth. No need to deny it now.
I felt my eyes widen as I stared at them intensely.
"Why exactly are the two of you speaking English right now?" Ivory asked
"It's because of the human girl. She speaks English, so everyone's been ordered to do it as well."
The blonde girl opened her mouth. "It's been rumoured that the girl has beautiful brown skin but a very rebellious attitude-"
"So we wanted to see how she really was," the other finished. Whoa, word spreads fast around here.
"You can't just barge around the palace grounds!" Ivory said angrily.
They stared at each other. "Well then why do Ash and Eleanor get to do that?" At the mention of 'Ash', they burst into an irritating giggle.
"Ah well, they're training to be warriors of this planet and don't you dare say anything against them, they're my friends," Ivory said grinding her teeth.
"Who's Ash-" I began but I was cut off by Ivory's angry words.
"And if you ever say anything about any of my brothers or sisters again, you'll be banished forever!" Ivory roared.
"Whatever, but just remember that Mayas don't get told what to do." They spoke with a soothing tone, one which could put someone to sleep.
"Just get out of the room. Your presence stinks." I stood there smiling at myself like an idiot for standing up for myself. Its always felt good to be kind to yourself.
"What a brat." I heard one of them mummer.
Yeah, that's exactly what I was. A brat. A brat that rescued the princess of their planet.
