《Belle》Chapter 48

Bella's POV
April 19th at 4:57 pm, Zara Thomas was born.
My little girl looks up at me with her big brown eyes and I smile. She was wrapped in a fluffy pink blanket and was wearing a white and pink striped little hat that only covered a little bit of the hair she had.
"She's beautiful." James whispered from over my shoulder. I nodded in agreement, too amazed by her beauty to reply.
"She had your eyes." I whisper back and look up at him. He smiled, which made my heart swell.
"She has your nose and lips." He retaliated. I looked back down at my daughter and smiled.
"I don't see it." James chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"Can I hold her?" James asked and I nodded.
I gently placed Zara in his arms and I saw his eyes light up. He held her close to his chest and smiled, running his finger over her chubby cheek.
"Hi Zara." He said in his baby voice with a smile so wide.
I couldn't help but smile too, a tired smile, but a real smile. There is nothing cuter than a father holding his child.
"Knock knock." I hear someone say, making both James and I look at the door. Megan stood in the doorway, her eyes fixated on the pink blanket in James's arms. "Oh my god!"
She rushed over to James's side and her eyes widen.
"She is the cutest baby I've ever seen!" She squealed, rubbing her finger over Zara's hand. Zara blinked a few times before closing them. "Awe, she's tired."
"So am I." I sigh and lay back in my hospital bed.
"Can I hold her?" Megan asked and James nodded, handing Zara off to her.

Megan cradled her in her arms, her eyes never leaving the little baby.
"Hi little baby, I'm your aunt. Well, not biologically. I'm your mommy and daddy's best friend so I'm kind of like their sister. Wait, no. That would be weird because if James was my brother and Bella was also my sister that means they would-"
"Megan, just shut up, she's minutes old." Megan stuck her tongue out at me and I chuckled.

"Bella?" I look up from Zara to see my grandmother in the doorway of my hospital room.
I give her a weak smile. "Hi."
"How is she doing?"
"Great, she's a healthy baby." I smile and look back down at my little girl.
She looked at me with her big brown eyes, full of curiosity and love. She opened her mouth to yawn and I couldn't help but smile.
"You have a visitor." My grandmother said with a smile and I furrowed my eyebrows.
She stepped aside and walked in a person I thought I would never see again.
"Abby!" I gasp, sitting up in my bed. She smiled widely and ran over to me.
"Bella!" She squealed and jumped onto my bed, wrapping her arms around my, careful not to hit the baby.
"Oh my god, I missed you so much." I sigh, holding her close to me with my free arm.
"I missed you too."
"What are you doing here? Does mom know?" I ask as she pulled away.
She shook her head.
"I told your mother I was taking her to the park, Abby really wanted to see you and meet Zara." My grandmother answered for her and Abby nodded her head in agreement.
"Is that the baby?" Abby asks curiously, peering to see what's in the blanket.

"Yes, it is. Her name is Zara and she's your niece." Abby's eyes light up as she sees the baby, smiling wide. "Do you want to hold her?"
Abby nodded her head vigorously and I chuckled. I instructed her to sit flap on her but and she did so. I gently placed Zara on her lap, showing Abby where to put her hands.
"You're so good at it." I tell her and she smiles, looking back down at her niece. "Are you excited to be an aunt now?"
"Yeah! I can dress her up in dressed and play pretend and play princess and have tea parties!" She said excitedly and I smiled.
