《You And I》ƇӇƛƤƬЄƦ 16: Dwight Blake Johnson

traightening the cotton shirt over my muscled chest, I let my fingers run over the 'The Knight' logo which stood proud below the neckline.
A slow smile warmed my heart as the events from Wednesday ran through my mind.
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
"Why not 'Taming The Shrew'? It's pretty challenging" my voice turned heavier, as I ran my fingers over the spine of the red, hard cover.
Premonition ragged my body, as I shifted my attention back to her. But what I saw next literally shook me to the core.
So many emotions ran through those lustrous green eyes of hers, at once. As if she was on a train, which was broken from one end and the other was just hanging loose from the ripped track. Giving her no choice but to balance herself in between. Her walls were as low as the stark height of a normal foot lift, making me want to jump in.
As I finally made up my mind to form a sentence in my mouth it was in a flip of moment that her previously wide eyes were back to glaring and her tough ambience was back in business, making me go arctic.
she said in a sigh and snatched the book from my hand.
but
my curiosity was cut short with bell to the seventh period going off.
Quickly picking up her bag, she turned for her back to face me.
"Coming Tuesday in sixth period, at the same time and place" Her voice was ascetic, as she straightened her posture before advancing towards the door.
Negligence to if I replied, she finally stepped out.
Before I could even pull myself out of the catalepsy, my body was already on its own; catching up with her in the corridor.
"Dixie! Hold up!" My voice boomed in the corridor. Many heads turned towards me, but I couldn't even bother to the fact that I was making my action obvious.
My eyes caught the sight of letup in her tracks upon my call and right when I thought I have caught up with her, she turned around; making her forehead accidently bunt my chest.
Though the contact was just mere and even though it wasn't skin to skin. I still apperceive a desolated feeling bubbling through my bones. The absolute part of the skin underneath that thin material of my t-shirt seem to react, absorbing as much warmth she had to give. And for my heart, it was going East and West with all the alleviation it was now being fed with.
Gradually stepping away from me, she made me acquainted of the beef my body instantly made due to the fall of her touch.

Her voice was venom laced, but for me it was melodious and enchanting; refreshing as a warm summers breeze.
Her eyes turned a couple of shades before settling upon one and now were dark, like a forest at sunset; the green of the leaves clinging to the very last bits of light they could.
I diverted my attention and found my voice with a slight hiss, as disquietude crept through my bones and my hand rubbed the back of my neck.
I wasn't nervous as to the look she was giving me, but to the fact that my body was counting the probability ratio of her saying a 'Yes' for some unknown reason.
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
My heart dropped a warm sensation into my stomach as collywobbles happened.
"Captain Blake, are you done admiring yourself already? We've got a match to win" Jonathan's voice boomed into the boy's locker room, making me snap my head in his direction.
Nevertheless, against the door frame stood Jonathan with the I-know-it smirk plastered onto his features.
"Phoo... what? No! I was just making sure that things were at their places" I said in a defencing voice, turning my attention back towards the mirror in front of me.
"I don't need grey hair to make out what you were thinking about best mate, I know you since dippers and am well awake of all the beats in your body" he chuckled as he shook his head from side to side and advanced into the room.
Jonathan and I Black family moved into our neighbourhood with an year old Jonathan, a day later Mom bought me home from the hospital. So yeah, from that day on we were fed from the same spoon.
"I wasn't lost anywhere, just thinking about all the approaches we can use to win this game" I sighed turning to look at him.
"Ahaan... that classifies why you were fallen between cracks. But what about that creepy smile?" He almost laughed as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Jon-"
"You've developed liking towards her?" He broke my sentence before I could proceed, making me look at him wide eyes as his words got registered into my mind.
"So... you do fancy her" he shook his head from side to side and chuckled leaning against the wall.
A sudden warmth made its way over my face and made my body react in a certain way.
"I don't know about that though but umm, Jonathan. Can you pretty please keep it just between us?" Nervousness broke through my body as I looked at him, with my left palm calming the goosebumps appearing at the back of my neck.

"Don't worry dude, it's saved right here" as soon as his chuckles subsided he patted his right palm over his heart.
"And yeah, totally forgot to tell you that she might as well come to see the match with Jessica, just to see your too sizzling shots" he whispered and added a wink in the end.
⚪✶⚪
"Over here!" I signalled a trapped Ace Marks to pass the ball over to me, as I stood mere distance from the goal net.
With quick node to my call, Ace didn't spare a moment before passing the ball to me from between two opposition quarterbacks legs.
The very instance ball came to me, I aimed clear and easily shot it into the goal net with a little swing in its move.
The crowd stood onto their toes, as cheers and screams rang in the entire field as Stecci High was in carousal.
"That was indeed a sizzling shot, Captain" Jonathan's voice spoke from behind me, as he landed a pat on my back.
Just before I could react to his comment, the whistle was blown ending the game at The Knight's victory by 5-1.
Now that's more like it...
Rest of my team mates came running and hosted me into the air, as chanting of '!' '!' came over the rest of the voices.
There was this sudden compulsion which took over me as my eyes, on their own; slowly scanned the crowd for the very familiar face. But nevertheless, disappointment took over me as I couldn't see those beautiful green eyes staring back at me.
Where are you?
My heart walloped once and fell immediately into the pit of my stomach.
"That was awesome, Captain" Josh Hall high-fived once I was dropped onto the ground.
With a smile and a returned high-five, I searched for Jonathan while dodging the crowd on my way in the field.
Not far away, my eyes met the sight of Jonathan's back and a slim blonde, almost, standing behind him. His back muscles were tensed, as his head was at the exact level of The Crown's centre-forward Nathan Hugh. There was an extrusive smirk plastered into his face as his eyes lingered back and forth from the blonde.
"Hey Benz" I slightly patted at his shoulder and came to stand between the two, on their right.
"Can you ask this sh*t face to walk off?" Jonathan's voice came low with fury dripping through his words.
"Why, Black? Just because I was admiring the beauty before my eyes? It's a free country, dude" Nathan commented, as his eyes lingered off to the body next to Jonathan.
Hold on, is it Jessica?
"Hugh, you must leave or you'll regret the later consequences" I folded my arms over my chest, as domination came over me.
Don't take me wrong, but I'm quite protective if it comes to my mates...
"Or what Blake? What will you do?" A second voice came from behind Nathan, as a muscled figure appeared with a challenging smug look over his face.
"How many times do I have to beat that pizza size ego of yours? Now shoo off. You don't need a bleeding nose once again, now do you?" My voice got deep and was dripping with venom, as I spoke the last sentence with my eyes set square on his.
There was a sudden falter that vibrated through Lee's body and I saw his hand landing on Nathan's shoulder.
That confirms that you got your nose implanted after our previous encounter... serves you right
"We'll come back" his voice was tight as he quickly turned around and beckoned Nathan to follow him, finally disappearing into the crowd.
"Are you okay?" Jonathan shot a quick question at Jessica, as soon as the figures were nowhere in sight.
"Yeah, thanks to you two" she softly nodded and spoke in a whisper, while looking back and forth between us.
"No problem really" Jonathan beat me quick to reply to her, as he looked away with flushed cheeks.
Oh boy...
"Umm... did Dixie tagged along too?" I finally questioned her, as nervousness found its way back into my veins and I slightly rubbed the back of my neck.
"No she couldn't come. She had somewhere to be at this moment" Jessica replied with a groan in her voice as her features turned a bit dismal.
As soon as her words got registered into my mind, the blessedness and the devotion to party all night and beat the drum of our colorful victory was thrown out of the window.
"Where did she go?" My lips recited those words before I could stop them and saw as her eyes widened and she slowly shook her head.
"I'm sorry, but that's pretty personal. Dixie is in the right place to tell you" she said with an apologetic look over her face.
I'm not letting this go, not now... not ever...
"Then show me"
