《Surviving the Johnsons. [✓]》Chapter fortysix

Chapter forty-six.
I felt faint as I got out of Sean's arms and ran towards the bathroom. Sean called my name but I ignored him as I slammed into the girl’s bathroom door. I pushed the door shut and stood in front of the mirror, a girl with worried eyes stared back at me.
"Don't worry, I'm sure it wasn't even him," I muttered as I smoothed fly away hairs. There was a loud knock on the bathroom door, I jumped around spun round. Who would knock on the bathroom door and not come in?
"Mitchie..." I froze. That voice. "You shouldn't run, Mitchie, it makes the game all the much more fun."
"Go away, go away," I mumbled again and again, trying to block his voice by putting my hands over my ears. I heard a rustling noise; I peeked round the side of the wall to see something being pushed under the door.
"Sweet friends you have, Mitchie... I might talk to them, if you'll excuse me."
I pushed away from the sink and ran to the door, picking up the piece of paper from the floor. I looked at the address scribbled down in black sharpie. "He wants me to meet him, is he serious?" I thought out loud.
"Oh, I'm quite serious." I jumped back. "Would you like me to ask your dear friends to meet me as well?"
"What do you want?" I said through gritted teeth, slamming my hand against the door between us. "Why can't you just leave me alone? I'm nothing to do with the stupid thing my father did!" I was closing to hissing the words at him but toned it down once I realized people could be passing by.
"Meet me at that address in your hand I will explain. No friends, no trouble. I'll see you later, sweet Mitchie." I heard his heavy footsteps as he walked away. Why had my friends let him come in here? Had my friends even noticed I was gone?
I walked into one of the stools and slid down the wall, I felt one tear make its way down my cheek but that was all I would allow. If I wanted my friends to stay safe, I had to see him on my own but how would I get away?
I took the scrunched piece of paper off the floor and looked at the address and time again. Tomorrow at four. I sighed and rubbed my eyes. At least I had a day to plan how to get away from my friends and towards a man who had serious problems.
~
It was half two and I was ready to punch someone in the face. Not one of my friends would let me go anywhere by myself - I know I said I wanted them to care but, seriously, one of the girls came with me to the toilet!
"What is going on?" I demanded to the group of boys as they squashed me into the Johnson family kitchen. All of them looked at me with the same innocent look. I gritted my teeth and decided if they weren't going to let me go willingly then I would have to punch them in the face. I stood up, the chair scraping along the floor. "I swear to God if one of you guys follows me to the bathroom then you will not have children in the near future."
After I said that they let me escape their babysitting watch. I looked over my shoulder before escaping into the garage. In the corner stood a motorbike. It was what Phoebe had brought Kurtis one year but he was so busy with college he didn't have a chance to learn properly, guess I could put it to use...

I took a deep breath and tried to remember what Tony had done when he got on a bike. I heard someone call my name; I bit my lip and made sure I wouldn't slide off the seat. Checking over my shoulder to see if anyone was there, I leant forward and pushed the button to open the garage door.
"It's now or never, Mitchie," I muttered to myself as I started the engine.
"Mitchie?"
Looking once over my shoulder at Lance, I gave him a small smile and kicked the bike into gear. "Mitchie, wait!"
I didn't wait. I drove the bike down the driveway, nearly going into the bins James was supposed to put at the side of the road, and tried my best not to fall off the bike. Braving one last look over my shoulder I saw Tony and his brothers running towards me but I was already speeding off at the fastest the bike could go.
After what seemed like forever I finally stepped shakily off the bike, I had survived. I almost jumped and danced at that little revelation but I stopped once I realized where I was and what I was doing here. "You can do this, Mitchie."
Yeah, you keep telling yourself that.
My conscious decides to pop up now? I took a deep breath and stepped towards the house that looked run down, and in serious need of a paint-job. I scowled and wanted to slap myself, I was seriously thinking about giving this house a paint job at a time like this?
Stepping onto the porch I realized I didn't know what I was supposed to do now, knock or just barge in? It did seem like he wanted to harm me, so the latter would be better, right?
"Sweet Mitchie, I knew you would come." I didn't have a chance to turn around; as soon as his words left his mouth I was blacked out.
***
I groaned as I put a hand to my head, it felt sticky and I didn't really want to pull my hand away - if I saw blood I would mostly likely black out again. Sitting up straight, I noticed I was on a bed. The room wasn't very clean but it was the type of space that was livable. My eyes flicked to the bedside table, a tray with toast, a glass of juice and a little pot with a single flower in it was sitting in the faint glow of the blue lamp behind it. My nose scrunched up as I poked the toast, it didn't even look good enough to eat - I shouldn't even think of eating right now but my stomach was telling me otherwise.
I went to swing my legs around and get off the bed but something was stopping me. Lifting the covers I tugged on my ankle; a set of handcuffs was around my ankle and attached to the bed frame. He had made me black out and stuck me to a bed?
As long as your family and friends are safe.
I tried as hard as I could to agree with the voice but my head was screaming that this was bad, very bad. I tried pulling my ankle but it wouldn't move, I wanted to scream in frustration as my leg didn't move.
"Don't strain yourself, you will wear your energy out," his voice appeared before his body did. He tsked as he nodded his head towards the tray, "you need food to keep your strength up."

"I wouldn't want any food by you," I hissed at him. "I'm here, what do you want with me?"
"I want your father to know what it feels like when the most important thing in your life is ripped away from you," he scowled at my slowly reddening ankle. A cocky expression crossed his features. "Who knew this would be so easy?"
"Leave my friends and family out of this," I warned him. It was a lame attempt at a threatening voice but I sounded like a mouse trying to guard its cheese. "I'm here; you don't need to do anything to them. Promise me you won't do anything to them!"
"Where would the fun be in that?" He disappeared through the door. I was here but he was still going to do something to my family or friends?
Silent tears escaped my eyes as I stared out the window. How long would I be here for? My heart thumped twice its normal speed in my chest. I wouldn't see Nora, Sean, Tony, James, Lance, Tess... ever again. This man had problems and if me being here meant he wouldn't do anything to anyone else then it was fine by me.
Not fine but you know what I mean...
What felt like hours later he emerged with another tray of food and drink. "You need to keep your strength up, wouldn't want you to fall sick now."
"Whatever," I muttered, rolling back over. "I can't move on this bed with that stupid thing on m ankle," I mumbled. I heard a click, looking down I realized he had just took the handcuff off. I blinked and looked up at him.
"The door is locked, doesn't make a difference if that is on you or not." He shrugged and exited the room. Unlike before, I listened for the sound of the locking clicking into place - it did in a matter of seconds. I sniffed and curled into a ball.
When I woke, I didn't expect it to still be dark. Something was at the window, I wanted to scream but nothing came out. My eyes were wide and unblinking as I stared at the person at the window. Finding my voice I managed to croak, "Sean?"
"Hey, bestie, long time no see, how you been?" He whispered as he climbed through the window. "Time to get you out of here. Where's the guy? You know, whatshisname," he waved his hand about; trying to remember the name he was looking for. "It's going to bug me now."
I couldn't help the small giggle that escaped my lips. "Steve."
"That's it!" He slapped a hand over his mouth and looked towards the door. "Let's get going..."
I tried to follow him out the window but I heard the lock sliding open. "Go, go! If he sees you..." I trailed off; thinking the things Steve would do if he found someone trying to break me out. "Please, Sean, just go."
He looked at me sadly, "I'll be back, I promise you that, Mitchie." He swiftly leant forward and placed a kiss on the corner of my mouth. A sad smile crossed my lips as I shoved him away. I didn't want him to get hurt because of me - even though it was killing me wanting to know how he knew where I was.
"What are you doing?" Steve hissed as he stepped into my room and bringing the glow of the hallway light with him. I wasn't exactly going to admit I was trying to escape, now was I? His hand wrapped around my wrist and tugged me back down onto the bed. "Don't you dare move from this bed!"
"I need to pee," I blurted. I had to control my eyes from widening, why had I blurted that out?
"What?" He looked confused then nodded. "Fine. I will be waiting outside."
I stood in the bathroom and tried to find something I could hit him with, just long enough to get away, Sean would still be here, right? Bottles of shampoo lined the shelves, none of them looked full enough to be able to knock him out, or at least slow him down.
"Hurry up," Steve shouted, banging on the bathroom door. I muttered a swear word under my breath and grabbed the biggest shampoo bottle. I took down another few bottles and added their contents to the first one, making it more solid. Taking a deep breath I opened the door, bottle behind my back, and stepped out.
As he walked back towards my room, I slammed the bottle into the back of his head. He groaned and fell onto his knees. I ran towards the stairs and made it down two before Steve made a grab for me. A small scream escaped my lips as I fell forward, down the stairs.
My right leg banged against every hard step on the way down, I cried out in pain as I slumped at the foot of the stairs. A faint noise registered in my ears but I couldn't tell what it was. Then I realized what it was and I almost wanted to cry with joy - police sirens.
The door banged against the wall as two officers stepped through the door. My cheeks felt wet then I realized I was crying. My leg was killing me; it was sprained at the most. The officers were shouting something but I wasn't listening. Sean appeared in my vision, through the blur, he looked so sad as he looked down at me.
"Mitchie, are you okay? Stupid question. Mitchie, answer me, please!" Sean shook my shoulder. He wiped away the tears staining my cheek; I managed a small smile before dots danced in front of my eyes.
"Excuse me, sir, we need to see the girl," a lady knelt down in front of me. She shined a light in my eye and examined me while I focused on staying awake. "We will take you to hospital in a sec, sweetie. Can you just watch her for one minute while I get my colleague?" Sean nodded and sat on his knees next to me. He took my hand and stared down at me.
"Stay awake, Mitchie. Promise me you'll stay awake."
"I promise," I muttered. Except, I didn't keep that promise, my eyes shut as the pain from my leg shot through my body.
