Chapter thirty-nine.
I made sure I looked right before walking down the stairs and looking at the Johnson brothers, tonight was the rehearsal dinner for Trent and Andy's wedding. I bit my lip as I looked around, the brothers looked amazing and my friends looked even better - I felt ugly compared to them.
"You look amazing, Mitchie." I turned my head to see Tony, James, Robbie, Nora and Tessa standing near the stairs. I smiled lightly at their comment, I didn't feel amazing. "Come on, we gotta get going soon. You're lucky you missed Trent's little hissy fit because none of us were standing up, ready to leave - even though we still had two hours." I chuckled; trust Trent to worry even though Andy was calm.
"Where's Andy?" Tony pointed at her; she was sitting in a dining room chair with Phoebe fixing her hair. "Thanks. Hey, Andy?"
"Hey, Mitchie, what's up?"
"Can I talk to you, it'll just take a sec."
She smiled and nodded. "Phoebe, I'll be back in a minute, you go fix up your boys."
"What do you mean?" Phoebe frowned and turned around; I peeked round her to see Kurtis and Lance play fighting. "Oh, boys!" She hissed and dashed towards them.
"Come on, let's go outside." She tugged my arm and led me into the cool afternoon air. "Now, what's wrong?"
"How do you know that there's something wrong? I could just want to talk to you." She raised her eyebrow, as if to challenge me to tell her otherwise.
"Fine, fine. It's just... I know we haven't spoken properly in a while but I wanted to ask you something."
"It's about the boys, isn't it?"
I sighed and nodded my head. "Mitchie, what is it exactly that you want help with?"
So for the next ten minutes I told her everything, for the most part. She sat quietly through my whole speech and didn't interrupt or show any signs of being disappointed in me. "Mitchie," I looked up at her as she pulled me into a hug. "Do whatever feels right, sweetie."
"I'm trying but I just don't know they are both so kind to me..."
"I know this isn't what you want to hear but why don't you let them... I don't know, try dating another girl? You can see how much it affects you and they can see whether they truly like you or whether they just lust after your lovely body." She winked at me as I blushed. "What do you think?"
"How would I go about getting them to go out with other girls?"
"Set them up?"
"But then they might think I'm trying to get rid of them... Andy, I can't lose them, they are the best thing that's happening to me right now."

"I know, sweetie, don't worry, things will fall into place soon."
"For my sanity's sake, I hope so," I whispered.
~
"What's wrong?" Sean asked as we danced. Andy and Trent had insisted everyone had to dance because they didn't want it messed up on the actual night – they even made some of the boys take lessons so they didn’t look like idiots.
"Nothing, just thinking."
"You can tell me, you know," he whispered as Trent whirled past with his mother. We smiled at them before continuing our conversation. "Honey, if it's about the boys then you shouldn't let them ruin the night."
"I know, I know, Sean, but it's just... I'll have to choose soon," I put my head on his shoulder and sighed.
"Mitchie..." I turned my head to look at Trent. "Care to dance with the soon to be married man?"
"Go ahead; I'm going to talk to Zac and Andy's sister."
"Sure thing." I waved before putting my arms around Trent. "So, you ready for marriage?"
"Yeah, of course, me and Andy..." he trailed off with a goofy smile on his face. I nudged him and his eyes snapped back to me. "Me and Andy are in love, I'm glad we're getting married."
"That's good; you two are made for each other."
"And how about you? Who do you think is made for you?"
"Honestly? I don't have the slightest clue."
"I've been told that you're having a few boy troubles." I blushed and searched for Andy. She caught my gaze and mouthed 'sorry'. "It's okay; I'm all ears if you need help."
"I feel so stupid because they are waiting for me and I can't even choose." I rested my head against him. He patted my back. "Trent, who do you think I should choose?"
"Mitchie, you know I can't tell you that, you have to decide for yourself... This sounds cheesy but let your heart tell you who you want," he kissed my forehead before letting go as the song ended.
"Can I have this dance?" I nodded at Zac as I waved bye to Trent. "What's wrong? All night you've seemed upset."
"It's just-" How could I tell him that I couldn't choose between him and the other people I'm crushing on? "It's nothing."
He pulled my chin up so I was looking him. "Tell me," he whispered.
"I can't." I pulled my chin out his grasp and stepped away from him. "I need some fresh air, I'm sorry."
I took a deep breath as I stepped outside; I needed to clear my head. I was going to think through all the positive points of the boys I like.
Tony: he's being amazing to me, we have things in common, and we always have fun when we go out, his good looks are a bonus. Bad points being I don't know how it would affect James if we went out.

Zac: we have a ton of things in common, he's always sweet to me, and we get along every second...
I thought about James, I couldn't like him; he and Nora should be together. I blinked through the slow down pouring rain, I barely had any points for these two guys and I couldn't choose?
It was going to be Tony or Zac...
"You’re going to catch a cold," Robbie said appearing next to me. He wrapped his coat around me and smiled. "What brings little Mitchie into the pouring rain?"
"What brings big Robbie into the rain?"
"Touché. I like the name, big Robbie... I needed some air, Andy was suffocating everyone with her thanks, I don't think she gets that everyone wants to help her."
"Yeah, she's great though. I needed time to think things through."
"Like which brother and friend to choose?"
"Yup, you got it in one." I smiled lightly and sat down on the steps.
"You're going to catch a cold if you stay out here much longer," he told me.
"I don't care. The rain helps me think..."
"Really?" I nodded and he sat down next to me then scooted over to wrap his arm around my shoulder. "Mitchie, don't over think things, they'll work out in the end."
"I really hope you're right. I really do."
~
"I love you."
"I can't return your feelings, I'm sorry."
"How can you do this to me?" I scowled at the TV before turning it off. It was Saturday night and I had nothing to do, the TV continued to mock me with its lovey dovey crap.
"Stupid, no good, love B.S on TV these days," I muttered as I slid across the floor to the kitchen.
"Mitchie?" My dad shouted down the stairs.
What did he want now? "What?" I shouted back, expecting no reply.
"What are you doing tonight?"
Crap, I needed to think of something... "Nothing yet."
"Oh, okay." I felt bad for saying a straight no to whatever he was going to ask me but he didn't deserve my time, yet. I opened the fridge and looked inside for something to eat, jam sandwich it is.
"Guess who." I screamed and turned around, pointing the knife at the person who just came through my back door.
"For the love of God!" I put a hand over my chest and glared at Zac and Sean. "You guys are idiots!"
"We're sorry, but that was too funny." Sean high fived Zac as they doubled over laughing. "Come on, we're taking you out. Get dressed." He pushed me out the kitchen door. "We'll wait over at the Johnsons for you, hurry up."
Thirty minutes later I found myself standing in front of my mirror in high-waisted shorts, a navy tucked in top and heeled ankle boots. I back combed my hair and applied enough eyeliner to make my eyes stand out. I sighed, grabbed my phone, told my dad I was going out and made my way over to the Johnson’s.
"'Bout time, we thought you weren't coming." I smiled at Nora as she let me in. "We, dear Mitchie, are hitting the town." I looked at her like she'd gone mad. "We have fake ID's, alright?"
"Of course," I chuckled.
"Though you look like you could pass the age limit, you suddenly look older somehow."
"Thanks, I guess." I was ushered into the car by Sean and Zac. "Why are we 'hitting the town tonight'?"
"Its fun and we need something to do."
"Good point."
~
I felt a sense of déjà vú kick in as we sat around a crowded table. “Tony,” I called him over the music. Everyone turned to me, like I had called all their names. “That guy at the bar is looking at you.” Everyone snickered as they remembered what happened.
"When do you think Vicka is coming over?" Nora asked me after a few minutes of people watching.
"I don't know yet, she said she'll let me know."
"Okay, cool, it was nice meeting her."
"Yeah, she's a loveable person... So, you and James?"
"Don't start, Mitchie." She pointed her finger at me.
"I guarantee you two will be kissing by the end of the night."
She held her hand out. "Okay, and if you're kissing Zac or Tony by the end of the night... the loser has to - hey, guys, think of an embarrassing dare."
"Run naked through the backyard," Robbie commented glumly. I nearly spit my drink out as I remembered the video James sent me of Robbie running through the backyard in nothing but Phoebe's knickers – that had to be the highlight of my week seeing that video.
"Okay. The loser has to run through the backyard," she held her hand in front of my face.
"Wait... naked?"
"No, course not, you're allowed underwear."
"Deal."
Who knew that only a few hours later I was kissing one of them said boys...
~
Well... not much happened this chapter.
I just wanted to say; there isn't many chapters left of STJ's... I want every single person reading this to tell me who they think she should be with, I need to start thinking about the ending :P
Also, should I do a... sequel of this or leave it? I wanted to do one but I wanted people's opinions whether they would read it or not :)
