"Mom, I need your help."Clarke spoke quickly. "One of our people was stabbed by a grounder."
"Clarke, this is the chancellor."Chancellor Jaha's voice came through next. "Are you saying there are survivors on the ground?"
"Yes. The earth is survivable."Clarke confirmed. "We're not alone."
It went silent again, until Clarke spoke again, this time with more despair.
"Mom, he's dying. The knife's still in his chest."
"Ok, can you patch me through to medical?"Abby voiced.
"Clarke, is my son with you?"Jaha asked.
Lyanna turned and saw Clarke, who was silent, unable to speak, opened her mouth only to close it again. Lyanna approached the radio and took it softly in her hands.
"Chancellor Jaha, I am Lyanna LeBlanc. I'm so sorry. Wells is...Wells is dead."
There was more silence, in which Lyanna could feel the silent pain of the chancellor before such news.
"I'm gonna talk you through it step by step." Abby informed her daughter.
Thunder roared from outside, causing kids to scream and jump.
"Clarke-give-to medical-"
"What?"
"Raven whats wrong?!"Clarke called over the loud thunder.
"Its not the radio its the storm!"Raven defended.
"Tavia." Lyana pulled her along, grabbing one of the cans from her friends hands "Ugh ¿moonshine?"
"Pretty sure no germ can survive it." Octavia commented while Lyanna opened it and threw a little bit into her hands and then handed it to Clarke.
"Monroe, close the doors."
"We still have people out there."Monroe argued.
"Monty and Jasper still aren't back yet."Lyanna said
"Neither is Bellamy." Octavia added.
"Merde, Finn is dying ans a storm comes out it's...This is perfect" Lyanna sighed with defeat.
"Hey, its alright."Clarke called out to her, Lyanna was about to have a panic attack. "They'll find somewhere to ride it out. I'm sure"
"Look, one suture needle."Raven rushed up to Clarke, passing the needle over.
"Right, I still need something to close the wound."

"There's wire on the second floor, I use it for tents." Octavia suggested.
"Lets see it."
"Stay away from the blue wires that run through the ceiling."Raven ordered as Octavia rushed off. "I rigged it to the solar cells in the roof. That means they're hot, got that?"
"Yeah, I got that."Octavia screamed.
"Tell me you can do this."Raven pleaded glancing at Clarke
"I'm sure she can, Clarke; Finn is...is everything for us, I know you can save him" Lyanna told Clarke with tears in her eyes, making Clarke swallow worried, Finn was a part of the life of the two girls and now his life depended on her.
"Hey, they're back!"Monroe called out.
"Bellamy." Lyanna murmured
"Is that a grounder?" someones asked with surprise and fear.
They dropped him to the ground harshly, and Lyanna's gaze checked quickly. He was full of blood; had a blindfold and was unconscious, They had beat him before knocking him out and tying him up, but it wasn't the grounder that had helped her, but the one who had helped Octavia.
"What the hell are you doing?"Octavia jumped from the latter to face her brother in disgust.
"Its time to get some answers." Bellamy saw Lyanna but avoided Lyanna's gaze the second she watched him with horror and sadness, the girl was too sensitive and seeing a person as battered as the grounder gave her nausea.
"Oh, you mean revenge?"Octavia scoffed.
"I mean intel."Bellamy argued. "Get him upstairs."He nodded to his people.
"Clarke, honey we're ready."Abby Griffin's voice came through the radio. "Can you hear me?"
Lyanna saw Bellamy's eyes grow in fear, they had contacted the Ark, that means they would come down. When she and Octavia were in the grounder's cave she had told Lyanna, Bellamy had shot Jaha, Octavia was a bit confused not believing that her brother could have killed the chancellor, but Lyanna did not flinch, she had killed a person for her, for her life, Bellamy had also done it, tried to kill the chancellor for his life; Octavia.

"Look, this is not who we are."Clarke voiced softly.
But Bellamy didn't tear his eyes away from Lyanna, for how Lyanna looked at him now, Bellamy knew she now knew the truth about him, about the wristbands, about everything.
"Clarke?" Abby asked again.
"It is now."
☣️
"The blade is at a sharp upward angle, between the sixth and seventh rib."Clarke informed her mother over the radio.
"Ok, how deep?" Abby asked.
"I can't tell how deep it goes."Clarke replied.
Lyanna was on the other side of the table holding Finn's hand, she closed her eyes, felt guilty, the grounder was being tortured upstairs without any shouting, perhaps not yet awake and Finn was at the table dying, two human lives were at stake that night.
"That's okay. Just don't remove the knife yet."Abby ordered softly.
"Hey, here, sterilize your hands."Clarke passed the bottle of moonshine to Raven who grabbed it quickly. Raven stripped off her finger less gloves and tossed them aside before taking a deep swig of the alcohol and then sterilized her hands, Lyanna saw her with her eyes open but did not blame her, there was a lot of tension and Finn was unconscious.
"Clarke, can you see any fluid?"
"Hey, watch it!"A kid yelled as he shoved another one back.
"Dammit!"Clarke spat. "Clear the room!"She ordered
"Everyone upstairs,now!"Raven shouted.
"You heard her!"Lyanna shouted for the first time to the hundred.
"He feels a little warm."Clarke commented.
"Ok, that's alright."Abby informed gently. "Fever sometimes accompanies trauma.Clarke i need you to tell me if there is any fluid leaking from the wound."
"Uh.."Clarke bent down to the wound to look it over before shaking her head. "No."
"Plural membranes intact. That's good, actually really good."Abby said over the radio. "He got lucky."
"Hear that?"Raven smiled over Finn's face. "You're lucky."
"Okay Clarke, firm grip on the knife."Abby ordered through the speakers of the radio. "Your gonna need to angle it upward and to the left very slightly to the left as it exits the rib cage."
"How very slightly?" Clarke asked
"Three mil-clarke?"
"Clarke, three millimeters, got it?"Abby's voice patched through again.
"Yeah, okay i got it."Clarke nodded quickly as she took a deep breath. "Here goes."
"Steady hand clarke."Abby commented. "You've assisted me on trickier procedures than this. And once that knife is out,the hard part is over."
The dropship shook with a rumble, causing Lyanna to grab the edge of the table
"What's happening?"
"Its the storm."Raven assured her.
"Alright, extracting now."Clarke grabbed the knife steadily and placed a hand on Finn's chest.
"He's waking up!" Lyanna yelled.
"Ahh!"Finn cried.
"Hold him still!"Clarke ordered the two girls. "Finn, I'm gonna get that knife out of you, okay?"
Lyanna grabbed Finn's legs and held them down as best as she could as Raven placed her hand over his chest.
"Good plan."He rasped.
"Finn you can't move, got it?"Clarke's raised her voice at him. "Okay here goes."
"Finn do not move."Clarke called out to him again. "Almost got it!Hold still."
The ship jerked, pushing everyone to the floor, Lyanna rolled over and hit her back with the metal wall, in addition to winning a couple of scratches. She looked up and saw Raven, Finn and Clarke on the floor, only the last one had the knife in his hand.
"Clarke?!"Abby shouted through the radio in concern. "Clarke, Clarke whats happening? Clarke can you hear us?"
Lyana rolled over her and knelt down watching Finn, continuing to breathe, the girl put a hand on her heart with a supremely relieved.
"Three perfect millimeters"murmured Lyanna to Clarke
"Its out!"Raven answered Abby over the radio as she sat up with a smile. "She did it."

You'll see a few similarities here between this story and some existing stories, at least initially. There's a lot of inspiration drawn from both MoL and Re:Zero, though in terms of pathos and darkness, this story leans more towards the latter. Be warned, it is something of a slow burn. The main character will grow and become powerful, but a theme of this story is that power comes slowly and often at great cost.
