《Simple Man(Jensen Ackles X reader)》Chapter 7

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing and groan grabbing it. I don't read who's calling, and answer.
"Hello?" I grumble.
"Hey, you okay?" I hear Jensen's voice ask through the phone. I shoot up in panic and glance around the room.
"Oh god did I sleep in? Is it 6?!" I ask him in his panic. He laughs at my panicked state while I roll out of bed.
"No no, your good. Just wanted to see if you wanted to move the date time?" He chuckles. I sigh in relief and rub my head as I go to the bathroom, putting him on speaker.
"To what?" I ask.
"How about now? I'm on my way to your place with groceries to make a killer breakfast." He responds.
"Sounds awesome, how far away are you?" I ask, feeling slightly panicked again cause I'm only in my shorts and oversized T-shirt I use to sleep in.
"I'm coming up the elevator." He chuckles.
"Ugh that doesn't give me time to change or sh-" I begin but he stops me.
"I'm in my Pj's too," He chuckles,"I brought a change of clothes for when we go out but don't change. We're having lazy breakfast." I can't help but smile widely at how cute he was. How many guys do stuff like this?
"Fiinnnneeeeee but the breakfast better be good." I giggle.
"Oh it is. And open the door please." He chuckles. I hang up and run down the hall to the door and swing it open to reveal a sleepy looking Jensen. His hair was still messy, he wore checkered pajama pants, some men slippers, and a T-shirt with his usual jacket over. He had two bags in his hands and a goofy smile on his face.

"Yay room service!" I giggle. He chuckles as I step aside allowing him in.
"I hope your ready for the best pancakes ever!!" He announces as he walks to the kitchen.
"I'm so ready." I chuckle. "But let me brush my teeth at least." I laugh. I jog down the hall to my room and back into my bathroom. I put on deodorant and brush my teeth before heading back down the hall to Jensen.
He already started mixing the pancake batter, his expression now serious. I grab my stereo remote and turn on some music, before joining him in the kitchen.
"Need any help?" I ask peaking over his shoulder.
"Can you butter the skillet plleeaassee." He instructs me. I nod and grab butter out of the fridge, pulling out a skillet and begin greasing it up.
"Very nice song selection." Jensen comments over my shoulder.
"Thank you, I prefer classic music." I smile. I usually listen to classic rock because it reminded me of a simpler time. Plus, it's just overall better.
"You and me both." He chuckles. I step aside and allow him to work his Magic. "Can you get started on the bacon?" He asks.
"I thought you'd never ask." I giggle. I pull out the bacon, and another skillet and begin cooking the bacon. "I could get used to this." I chuckle.
"To what?" Jensen asks.
"A handsome guy coming over weekend mornings and making me breakfast." I chuckle. Jensen chuckles as well and wraps his arms around my side, pulling me to his chest. My cheeks heat up as I rest my head against his chest. We stand there lost in the moment till I look at the pans. "THE BACON!!" I gasp. I pull away and quickly pull the bacon out of the pan. Luckily it wasn't burnt. Jensen laughed at my reaction and we both went back to cooking.

Once we finally finish cooking, Jensen and I sit at the counter and enjoy our food while talking about basically everything. He told me about JJ, and all the trips they did with Jared to the lake. They were basically brothers, it was adorable.
"So, what are today's plans?" I ask Jensen as I carry my plate to the sink.
"I was thinking maybe laser tag." He smirks. My eyes widen and I can't help but laugh.
"Laser tag? Oh your on Ackles!" I laugh. I wash the dishes while Jensen uses my bathroom to get ready.
As I finish dishes, Jensen's phone begins to ring and I glance over and see Daneel's name pop up. I tense up, feeling awkward and head over to my room. I knock on the bathroom door, Jensen's phone in my hand.
"Hey Jensen Daneel is calling." I shout. The door opens revealing Jensen, and he arches his brow curiously as I hand him his phone.
"Thanks." He mumbles. I nod and exit my room to give him some privacy. I sit on the couch and scroll through my texts and emails, before I hear Jensen exit my bedroom. He was normally dressed now, but his smile faded and he seemed upset. "Hey uh......I have to go Daneel is in town with JJ, and she wants to talk and she said it's urgent....I'm so sorry." He informs me. My heart sinks but I fake a smile and nod.
"No no it's okay, I understand. Text me if you need me." I smile tightly standing him. He nods and looks at me as if he wants to say something but instead he approaches me, kisses my cheek and leaves my apartment. I huff out in frustration and sadness, walking sadly back to my room so I could curl up and binge watch Netflix. It must've been really important since he left....besides he gets to see his daughter and I can't be upset; That's his world. I shake off the sad feeling knowing it was wrong to feel that way and scroll through Netflix.
As I'm watching Once Upon A time, I hear my phone ring and look down to see it's Gen. I pause my show and answer.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Hey want to come over for some brunch?" Gen asks.
"Sure, I'll be over in 20." I respond.
After I hang up, I get up and begin to get ready. Jensen never leaving my mind, hoping everything was okay.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.

The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
