The clanging on the cell bars woke Ahsoka and Rex from their fairly light sleep. Ahsoka groaned and nudged her face deeper into Rex's chest. Without thinking Rex leaned over and kissed Ahsoka lightly on the head. She gave a soft hum and laughter erupted out of nowhere. Rex's eyes shot open, he recognized that laugh.
"Oh how cute" Hondo hissed, admiring the couple from afar.
Rex mumbled insults under his breath, careful Hondo couldn't hear him. Before Ahsoka knew it, Rex and her were being dragged off each other and towards the arena once more. Ahsoka's whole body ached. She groaned, clutching her bandaged thigh, which still stung. Her eyes fluttered open and the arena as well as her cage came into view.
Then she was thrown in, carelessly like an animal. She didn't even try to stop her fall, so she crashed into the side of the cell. She slowly pushed herself to her hands and knees and lay with her back to the bars. She squinted, her eyes adjusting to the light. Then she saw Rex.
Rex was in the middle of the arena, still looking half out of it. Meanwhile the crowd was going crazy, some of them shouting at Rex and throwing anything they could find at him. Other pirates shot him glances of sympathy, Ahsoka figured those were the pirates he saved from the prison.
"Hello everyone!" Hondo shouted, making the crowd roar in applause, "Today is the second challenge for Rex! And you all know what that means!"
The crowd burst into hoots and cheers, then the ground started to shake. A huge drawbridge slowly slid up, screeching and making the most horrible sound. The audience hissed, covering their ears with annoyed expressions.
Rex whirled around, suddenly not the slighted bit tired. He scrambled away from the sliding. humongous, door. He heard a low growl and the hairs on the back of his neck stood on edge, goosebumps covering his body. This wasn't gonna end well.
"THE RAQUOR'DAAN!" Hondo cried.

The crowd absolutely lost their mind.
"He won't last one minute!" Sorgon shouted, glancing nervously at the clone.
"Oh but he must!" Hondo inquired, "If he wants his girlfriend to stay"
"But-" Sorgon started.
"Sorgon," Hondo snapped, "I would advise you not to question my ways"
Sorgon bowed his head, a number of emotions crossing his face. Ahsoka could see the conflict, he didn't know what to do. Betray Hondo to rescue Rex, or remain loyal to the pirate leader. Ahsoka prayed to no one in particular, that he would make the right choice.
The large metal drawbridge finally opened to reveal the massive beast Rex was supposed to defeat. There was no way he was going to win. Not alone at least. The wolf-like creature, with it's barbed tail, stalked Rex. It ventured closer and closer, snarling and showing off its razor sharp teeth. Rex swallowed hard, slowly backing away from the creature. It gave a mighty roar, the sound echoing through the stands and hurting Rex's ears. Then it charged. For a moment Rex didn't process what was happening, then cogs turned in his mind. He jumped out of the way, right when the beast's tail slammed into the sand where he used to be.
What. The. Hell.
Ahsoka's eyes grew wide and she crawled closer to the edge of her cage to get a better look. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Sorgon, Gersaka, and other pirates talking in a group. What were they up to? Rex, on the other hand, was dodging the scorpion, poisonous, tail. He was already getting tired, Ahsoka could tell.
"Come on Rex!" she faintly yelled, and he heard it.
He whipped around, eyes looking straight into hers. He gave a sad smile and Ahsoka's heart dropped.
"Rex lookout!" she cried.
Rex turned around just in time to jump out of the way of the sharp claws of the Raquor'daan. Rex held his breath as something was tossed from the crowd in front of him. He looked to where it had come from, Gersaka. He gave an abrupt nod and Rex returned the gesture. He darted over to the object to notice it was a blaster. It wouldn't do much good, but it was better than nothing.

Rex dove behind the creature and shot its leg several times. The beast roared in pain and snapped its thirsty jaws at Rex. Then all hell broke loose.
Suddenly pirates from all over let out war cries and jumped out of the stands into the arena with Rex. Rex was bewildered, what was going on? He looked around and began to recognize the pirates that had jumped down. They were all pirates he had saved from the imperial camps. The Weequays started to attack the Raquor'daan, slashing it with a number of weapons and shooting it with blasters. Rex was very confused, in fact, he was shell shocked.
Ahsoka looked everywhere, searching for Sorgon. She knew what was happening. Just then Ahsoka heard a creak as her cell door swung open. And there Sorgon was, fidgeting with the keys and quickly waving her out.
"Come on!" he shouted.
"Thank you" Ahsoka muttered, shooting a smile his way.
"Now let's go help Rex," Sorgon announced.
He put his hand out for Ahsoka and she took it gratefully.
"Who is everyone else?" Ahoska asked.
"All the pirates Rex saved," Sorgon explained, "They all agreed to help when I brung it up. They wanted to help Rex as he helped them"
A small smile formed on Ahsoka's face.
"Oh and no problem" Sorgon blurted out.
The two then hopped into the arena, Sorgon tossed Ahsoka a blaster and she caught it with ease. She started to shoot the Raquor'daan, moving closer and closer to her love. He was blasting the monster as well, occasionally dodging fatal slashes.
Finally Ahsoka reached Rex, quickly planting a small kiss on his cheek.
"Are you ok?!" she shouted over the roaring pirates.
"I'm fine!" He called with a genuine smile.
At least twenty pirates were punching, shooting, and slashing the huge beast. The Raquor'daan cried out in agony and dug its barbed tail into the nearest pirate's chest. The Weequay yelped, quickly going limp and dropping to the ground.
Sorgon came up to Rex, slapping him on the back.
"We've got your back clone!" Sorgon yelled.
Rex smirked, "I owe you!"
"No this is just returning the favor for bringing my little brother back!" he pointed out.
"You're welcome!" Rex shouted.
"Thank you!" Sorgon laughed.
Speaking of Gersaka, the pirate came rushing over to the group.
"I think we've got it from here!" He claimed, "Is it time Sorgon?"
Sorgon gave a quick nod, "Get them out of here!"
"Follow me!" Gersaka said, nodding to Ahsoka and Rex.
They did as they were told and followed Gersaka out of the arena. Some pirates tried to stop them, but Rex shot them out with ease. They ran through several tents, alarming some pirates, and scaring some more.
"This way" Gersaka announced, leading the group to the entrance of the pirate paradise.
"When did you guys have time to plan this?" Rex asked.
"Last night" Gersaka said matter-of-factly, "We figured something like this would happen!"
They dashed out of the tents, the sandy winds whipping their faces.
"Get on a speeder and go straight!" Gersaka shouted, "Keep going and you'll eventually come to your ship!"
Suddenly a plasma charge just whizzed by Rex's head, barely missing him.
"Go Go Go!" Gersaka cried.
Rex hopped on the nearest speeder, Ahsoka getting on behind him and wrapping her arms around his waist. He hit the gas and they sped away. Ahsoka turned around just in time to see Gersaka shoot down the remaining pirates. She hoped he and his brother would be alright. After all they did for Rex and her.
"Thank you" Ahsoka whispered one last time to Sorgon, Gersaka, and all the pirates that helped them escape.

Gods How I Hate Nature
While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything… But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power. That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat… (The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)

Maitbudi
Fermboi was a man of one ideal: make the weak strong. When his rebellion against the king proved futile, he was given another chance at life. This time, he sought to do nothing after realizing the hopelessness of it all. Aventina wanted to do nothing more than to follow her father’s footsteps. On a retaliation raid against her tribe’s enemies, her brothers perished. Spared by a leader of her enemies, she returned home to find herself the chief of her tribe. Bolahulag, half-civilized and half-barbarian, half-lowborn and half-royal. Raised in his mother’s civilized tent in a sea of barbaric shelters, Bolahulag was hesitant to follow his paternal way of life. After a battle between a civilized king and his father, Bolahulag was sent as hostage to learn the economy and military of the nation his father defeated. Derai knew nothing more than being an orphan, but when a merchant took her in, the world she thought impossible soon became a reality. Monghe, stuck in a school exemplifying strength for most of his life, began to understand what he needed to do in order to be strong instead of weak. Story is mostly about nothing. Fermboi does most of the nothing. Aventina does most of the military things. Bolahulag does a balance of economy and military. Derai focuses on economy. Monghe spitfires what it means to be a typical hero. Hopefully this is enough to give a general idea to people who don’t like going blind aside from the work being purportedly “good.” Who am I kidding, my writing is terrible. I hope it improves though.
