《Sure Thing, Commander ✔︎》28

Rex and Ahsoka were awakened by the sound of pounding against the cell bars. Before Rex could react, he was being pulled off of Ahsoka and out of the cell. He felt as the pirates secured his upper armour against his bare chest, leaving his helmet in a nearby Weequay's grasp. Rex nor Ahsoka resisted, as they were too tired and still out of it. Ahsoka could barely stand, all her strength from last night gone.
"Rise and shine" Hondo purred, getting in Rex's face.
Everything came flooding back and Rex's eyes shot open. The binders were back on their wrists and they were now starting down a long corridor. On either side of the group, prisoners groaned and cried out. Some would stretch out a weak hand, just for it to be batted away by a guard. Ahsoka slurred some nonsense before groaning and stumbling over her own feet.
"Keep moving" a pirate growled, shoving her forward.
She winced and picked up her pace a bit. Rex tried to get as close to her as he could, but the pirates made sure there was enough distance between them. As they grew closer to their destination, Rex could faintly hear the roar of spectators. He felt his heart rise up into his throat and tried desperately not to show his fear. The cries of the crowd got louder until the sound was making his ears throb. They came upon a large metal door. Hondo pressed a red button and the door slid to the side, revealing a massive arena.
As soon as everyone saw Hondo, they erupted with cheers and shouts. Hondo threw his arms up in the air and the roaring only got louder. He looked like their pirate king, everyone screaming his name. He strolled up to his throne and sat, crossing his legs and leaning back. His pet Monkey-liazrd hoped on his shoulder and screeched. While Rex was led to the center of the arena, Ahsoka was pulled over by Hondo. Rex had to watch, as she was shoved into a metal cage like an animal. He struggled against the large pirates holding him, as Hondo slammed the cage shut and everyone snickered.
Then Hondo raised a hand in the air and a hush fell over the crowd. He gave one last look of satisfaction before taking a breath.
"My friends! Do I have a show for you!" He cried, craving the attention he was getting, "We have some special guests here today! Captain Rex, a clone of the fallen Jedi order!"

The spectators started booing, spitting, and throwing whatever they had at him. Rex had to dodge several daggers and an assortment of other items that were being thrown right at his head.
"We also have Jedi Ahsoka Tano!" Hondo yelled, pointing to the cage.
This time the crowd only laughed, still throwing things at her. Rex could barely make out her small form, huddled in a corner. He felt his heart ache for her, suddenly enraged by the whole situation.
"Alright Hondo! You've had your fun! Now tell me what I have to do!" Rex cried, thrashing in the arms of the pirates holding him.
Hondo laughed, "So impatient. For your first task you must release all of my fellow pirates that have been taken away. There is a nearby Imperial prison camp where they are being held. You only have twelve hours to get them out before I turn this one over to the Empire!"
Rex's eyes widened. Twelve hours wouldn't be enough time at all. It was impossible! But what other choice did he have? He gritted his teeth before turning back to the pirate leader.
"How do I know where they are being held?" Rex spat.
Hondo hesitated, "You don't!"
The crowd laughed along with the monkey-lizard perched on Hondo's shoulder. Rex growled a number of insults under his breath before trying to figure out a plan ahead of time. How the kriff was he going to do this?
"We will have a holocam on your helmet as well as a comlink. That way we will be able to see what you see. If you try anything at all, your Jedi friend will be shipped off to the empire. There is also a small timer that will being to countdown as soon as you arrive at your destination." Hondo stopped before continuing to explain how this was gonna go, "Sorgon will take you close enough to the prison camp without being seen on a speeder bike then leave you to do the work yourself! All I can say if good luck!"
With that, Hondo flicked his wrist and Sorgon took a hold of his wrist. Before Rex knew it, he was being dragged out of the arena and through more bars. When they finally got out of the maze of tents, the speeder bike was waiting for them. Sorgon removed Rex's binders and tossed him his helmet, before hauling himself onto the speeder bike. Rex put his helmet on and got on the speeder as well, right as Sorgon punched in the coordinates and zoomed away.

As soon as Rex put on his helmet, he immediately disliked the new changes Hondo had added. By his ear was an uncomfortable device that would allow him to talk and hear from Hondo. On the front of his helmet was a small holocam, just like Hondo said. Rex really didn't like the idea of everyone seeing exactly what he was doing, but he couldn't just take it off. If he did, Ahsoka would be gone before he could say General Grievous.
He could somehow find a way without them knowing, but that was a risk he wasn't willing to take. The sandy, stale, air flew into the crevices of Rex's armor, making it a whole lot hotter. The sun beat down on them as well, not helping to stop the heat.
Back at the arena, Ahsoka was being humiliated. People would come up to her cage and try to touch or hurt her. Some would even come up from behind her and scare her, making weird faces then laughing at her reaction. It got the point where she was curled up into a tight ball, shouting at the people who came near her and threatening those who laughed.
"So Jedi, do you think Rex will do it?" Hondo asked, kneeling by her cage.
Ahsoka shot Hondo a death glare, furiously crawling up to him.
"He's a lot stronger than you think. He'll get them out. But only because you made him." Ahsoka snarled.
Hondo's lip curled into a disgusting smile, "You better hope he does"
"He will" Ahsoka growled.
Hondo began to walk away, but Ahsoka had one more trick up her sleeve. She skillfully used the force to pick up Hondo and slam him into her cage. He gasped as she shot her arm out and grabbed the pirate by his neck. Then the chaos unfolded. Pirates started shouting everywhere, and grabbing their guns aiming them at the small togruta girl in front of them.
Ahsoka waited until everyone had gotten quiet.
"Let this be a lesson to all of you!" she yelled, "If you keep messing with me you might just end up like you leader here!"
Hondo pried furiously at Ahoska's fingers, choking on his breath. When Ahsoka finally realized what had come over her, she released her grip on Hondo. He fell to the ground, coughing and gasping for fresh air. He struggled to get up and Ahsoka felt fairly pleased but also disappointed in herself at the same time.
What had they done to her? They were turning her into a monster. What would Anakin say about this behavior? Her heart sank when she remembered once again that her master was gone.
Finally the pirates started to talk again and they stood a safe distance away from Ahsoka in her cage. Ahsoka let a small smile form on her lips. They were scared of her.
Rex thought they had to be lost. Everywhere he turned there was just sand. It all looked the same to him. The ride didn't last much longer, and when the speeder finally came to a stop near a large sand dune, he hopped off. He started to walk away but stopped when he heard Sorgon shout his name. He whirled around to see the normally tough pirate looking anxious.
"What?" Rex snapped a little annoyed, after all he was being timed.
Sorgon's eyes darted everywhere but where Rex was, "My brother-"
"What about him?" Rex growled.
"He was taken from my family a couple years ago. I want to believe he's still alive. If there's one place he would be, it's here" Sorgon explained.
Suddenly Rex fell very quiet. After everything he had done to them, he expected Rex to help him out. Do him a favor? Was he insane? But Rex also knew what it felt like to lose a brother, it was terrible. Giving into his emotions, Rex knew what he had to do.
"Could you please see if you can find him?" Sorgon begged, his pleading eyes staring right into Rex's own.
"What's his name?" Rex asked.
"Gersaka" Sorgon replied.
Rex nodded, "I'll see what I can do"
Sorgon's face lit up, making Rex feel a little better about his decision.
"Thank you. I'll make it up to you, I promise" Sorgon said, tightening his grip on the speeder handles.
"You're welcome" Rex muttered starting up the sand dune.
He could hear in the background as the speeder bike whizzed away, leaving a trail of sandy air behind it. Rex climbed the dune as fast as he could, not wanting to waste any time. As soon as he got to the top, he dropped to the ground. Just over the dune he could make out the imperial prison camp. This was it.

My Good Friend Murphy
***Disclaimer*** I wrote and am writing this purely for my own amusement. That means that this could have major revisions done to it sporadically, it has more grammar errors than even the most mentally stable grammar nazi could withstand, and will not update at all regularly. This is an ad-hoc fun experimental work with forced motives, plotholes, and static characters. Don't expect too much. That said, this mutated mistake of a short novella follows a ditzy MC who has been transported to a new world with the dubiously useful skills origin and enigma and the obnoxiously imbalanced skill, traveler. If you'd like more incentive to give it a shot, you will never get spoilers about the plot because there isn't one (Actual synopsis coming soon, relative to eternity)
