《Prophesy of the Elven King》Ch. 32 Among Friends.

For several days I spoke with the sentient dungeon core. Unfortunately for us the dungeon no longer wished to be a dungeon anymore. If it had remained one, it could have been able to produce rare materials someday, but the being was determined to change its fate. It wanted to leave with its beloved floor boss and see the outside world. I could understand wanting to get away after being trapped alone for hundreds of years, having almost gone a little stir crazy once myself after being stuck in a baby's body for several years: I understood it well.
The cat that had become Arl's dungeon boss had just been a typical kitten that had wandered into the dungeon. Arl was what the dungeon had called itself even though it had no idea why or when it had chosen a name. The poor kitten had lost its mother and the dungeon having never seen any living creatures before immediately swooned over the baby creature. Arl's skeletons had done everything possible to keep the kitten alive, but unfortunately, without the antibodies from its mother's milk, it died before reaching adulthood. Determined not to lose her Arl used its power to make her his floor boss. Making Elza its floor boss bound its soul to Arl forever and that's the way the dungeon wanted it.
Elza, the cat, had no concept of time like any other cat and as such was unbothered by the passing of it. I believe that only a cat could enjoy immortality because they don't care about anything enough to miss it when it's gone. I imagine all cats are like "Oh, there used to be someone else here who would feed and play with me. Well, I guess you'll do for now then."
Arl's plan was simple but also impossibly difficult to achieve, or it should have been. First, he needed to meet someone that it could communicate with and then would need aid as well from someone who could manipulate life force. I know right? What are the odds? The first Group of sapient life forms to enter its dungeon and I'm exactly what Arl needed. As usual, I suspected it wasn't all a coincidence. Someone had set things up to make it possible like Arcway, or that dang goddess of fate.

We waited until everyone in our village had out leveled the dungeons usefulness before I went to work. Arl had been so kind as to let the children of the village destroy monsters with no resistance. He even used skeletons to participate in group sparring sessions to help catch them up on combat training they sorely needed. Since he had helped us, I felt his request was a fair trade especially since he would be joining us anyway.
The process was simple but complex to implement. First, we had to have the dungeon core and the cat in the same place. Then I had to add and use life force to merge the two beings; This would make the dungeon core act like a monster core would in a magical beast. That still wasn't enough because leylines power dungeons and without a power source their body would fade away. Arls brilliant plan for this was to create a contract to become one of our familiars. This magic bond would fuel their existence! Gawd I love magical Theories! Were doing some groundbreaking work here people.
I offered myself to be their contracted master, but Arl vehemently refused by saying, "I'm not binding myself to a dude forever that's homo!". So Emma ended up getting the young Homophobe dungeon as her familiar. Her red string of fate even made the bond stronger than expected. That's fine I hate cats anyway! Well, I don't, but it's not like I can't live without one. I just wanted to catch all the rare pokemonz! Dungeon-a-chu I choose you, but nope I don't get one this time. Weirdly enough the familiar was still recognized as a dungeon by the system.
Arl told me that given enough time he could convert the matter Elza eats into other things. So basically they're a cat that can poop gold, Gross! I pictured myself putting a bag over my hand while cleaning the litter and harvesting the gold as bender did in Futurama for Nibbler's dark matter. At least I could pay people I don't like with it, but I knew Emma was going to make me clean the litter pans.

Since Emma could communicate with her familiar over any distance, we decided to go scout out one of the other dungeons Zotherg had discovered for us. We went by ourselves since we wanted some alone time and could handle ourselves against most enemies. The village is fine, but everyone gets pretty nosy. Half a days hike later Emma, and I was getting close to our destination. Since we were about a mile or two away, we decided to stop and eat. Emma had packed me a black bread sandwich with a cooked slice of potato soaked in a spiced veggie broth. It sounds a bit weird but its so far the closest thing tasting to meat I've had. Add some pickles, tomato, and some delicious soft cheese. I don't know how I lived without this before! I'm so glad elves can eat dairy!
I heard a roar in the distance, and I almost had another Skyrim flashback. Both Emma and I turned towards the sound and saw a gigantic bear in the distance. That is if you could still call it a bear, it had six arms aside from its hind legs. so, I guess its an eight-legged bear? Its black fur appeared a dull black metallic color, and it had two sets of bat-like wings. I used [Soul Analyse].
