《Home | The Originals》Chapter 92: Fake Friday

Me and Hayley walked into the Compound to see a lot of people setting up decorations all around the place. There was purple and gold everyone, so I guess it's to represent the New Orleans color.
I'm confused on why we are about to throw a party when not too long ago we all was going to leave this place for a better life and raise the kids in a safer area.
"Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't we not planning on leaving this city soon, but now all of a sudden we're throwing a party. Is this our farewell party because that's the only excuse I'll believe." I said as I stare up at Nik who was leaning against the rails on the second floor.
"The only people that are attending are New Orleans influential creatures." He said. Great as if everyone doesn't hate us already, why not invite everyone we pissed off in our home and pretend we didn't do anything that didn't ruin their lives.
"You do realize that everyone hates you." Hayley said with a confused face.
"But they love Marcel, and as the invite states, he is the cohost. Tonight, we celebrate our truce." Nik said as he raises his arm to gesture to all the decorations.
"So a fake party, with a fake truce, to show off a fake friendship, with fake supernaturals, but our guest of honor is in a dungeon, but don't worry, it's a fake dungeon, so Marcel will be just fine." I said as Nik started to walk down the stairs towards us.
"Marcel's attendance would only complicate matters. Besides, I'll have my hands full weeding out those in league with the Hollow." He said.
"Have fun with that. The kids are with Mary. I'm just looking for Freya." Hayley said. Nik walked over to the table that had the drinks which, surprisingly, has already been set up.
"What do you need of her?" He asked without turning around.
Hayley walked closer to him. "Just a favor." She said with a bit of hope that he will give her whereabouts.
Nik turned around to stare at her and raised his eyebrows before he finally told her where Freya is. Once Hayley left I walked over to Nik side and leaned against the table.
"Well, since we, specifically you, are throwing a party I need to go find a dress. I'll see you once it starts." I said and before I could walk away from him, Nik grabbed me by the waist and held me close to his chest, forcing me to look up at him from this angle.
"Before you go we need to do something real quick. You see, I have been utterly frustrated for the past 5 years and since my gorgeous fiancé has been sleep for that same amount of years, I think you owe me some alone time with you." Nik said lowly and I can't help the chill take took place on my spine.

"But it wasn't my fault." I whined but he kissed me to shut me. He pulled away from me, taking my bottom lip with him before he spoke again. "It may have not been your fault, but it's a problem you have to fix." He said.
Before I could even argue back he grabbed the back of my knees and vamp speed us to our room and I just gave up at that point. "I hope you know you're putting a condom on before you thrust into me." I said as he throws me on the bed.
"Trust me, love. I think we both can agree on that we have enough kids that will last a lifetime." He said and he pulls one out from his back pocket. This is one thing I truly missed in 5 years.

The party has started and me, Klaus, and Elijah were at the balcony as we stare down at all the guest. This is the same room where Hayley and Jackson got married in and it's kinda sad if I continue to think about it.
Elijah stood ahead of us inches away from the railing before he started the speech. "Me dear friends." He started and everyone stop talking to look up at him. "Tonight, we celebrate an alliance between our family and Marcel Gerard. Unfortunately, as is his custom, Marcel is unfashionably late."
I turn to Nik and mouth to him, "I wonder why." Nik smiled at me before pulling me against him so my back was to his front.
"So until such a time as he graces us with his presence, let us all raise a glass and salute the glorious city of New Orleans." Elijah finishes and then Nik left me to stand by his brother.
"But, before we do, my brother and I wish to acknowledge a painful truth. Our relationship with this city, and indeed with most of you, has been long and complicated. We hope you will be put at ease knowing we intend but a brief and peaceful stay. Let this evening be a respite from past grievances... and an opportunity to forge new friendships." Nik raised his champagne glass in the air and so does everyone else. "Cheers."
We all said our cheers then drink our champagne before they continued where they left off in their conversations.
Our main goal tonight is to catch anyone who is helping the Hollow. I also need to keep an eye out for that little girlfriend of Marcel's. No doubt she won't try anything to get Marcel back.
~~~
Halfway through the party and I was extremely bored. Elijah went to take care of the snake that is working for the Hollow. Don't know why he described it as snake but he never really explained that. I haven't seen Nik since he left downstairs. I've been up here just sipping champagne which I have now switch to bourbon. I've snapped 3 necks because they wouldn't leave me the bloody hell alone.
Just as I am about to give up and go to sleep I see Nik and Marcel's little girlfriend walking to the dance floor. I push one side of my hair behind my ear so I can focus on their conversation instead of all the noisy little shits around me.
"Where is he?" I'm guessing she is asking for Marcel's whereabouts. I'm surprised she cares so much considering she only deals with the highest bidder.
Nik looks down at her wrist to see a very unique looking bracelet that looks sharp enough to cut someone. "Am I supposed to be threatened by that monstrosity on your arm?" He asked her.
"You should be. Other than Marcel, it's the only thing on this planet that can kill you." She says as they continue their dance.
"You're bluffing." Nik said. She is for sure not bluffing. I can smell the stench of death coming from that thing and I do not like it.
"You think so? The thorns of a rose grown from Marcel's blood and the magic of an ancient spirit that hates you as much as I do. Go ahead, call my bluff. See how that works out." She said.
Nik dips her but that causes their face to be a lot closer than I would have liked. "Maybe I should just kill you." He said then brings them both back straight up. There's nothing wrong with killing her. I'm not saying this because I'm "jealous" but because I don't naturally believe in keeping your enemies alive just to humiliate them.
"Try it." She whispers. "Even if you manage to put me down, the Hollow's followers will make sure you're dead by the end of the night. Elijah, too."
Nik twirls her around and pulled her back to him but then she held her bracelet underneath his chin. "You have allies. So tell me exactly how much of this cursed rosebush is there." Nik asked.
"Enough to kill you and your whole family ten times over. So... do you want to give me Marcel, or should my friends and I end the Mikaelsons once and for all?" She demanded.
I see Nik smile at her like he just won a lottery. "I'll consider it but you are forgetting your key flaw in your plan." Nik said. He looks up making her look up and they were just staring at me. So, me bring me, put my elbows on the railing and I wiggled my fingers at them like I was saying hi. "My lovely, and godly over powered fiancé. Knowing the type of woman she is, she was probably listening to our conversation the minute she saw us dancing together. If there was anything that I have learned from watching her do magic is that every spell can be countered." They both stopped looking at me to face each other. "One of the thousand things I love about my fiancé is that she will do anything to make sure our family is safe. Especially me. So, please, do your worst. Me and my equal will gladly take you down." He finishes.
~~~
After hours of just standing alone by the god table I finally spotted Freya and that wolf girl who's venom saved the entire family. We chatted between us before we heard a familiar voice.
"Ladies and gentlemen..." I look to see Elijah holding some guy by the back of his neck against the railing, but his head was bleeding from the side. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have an errand boy off the Hollow. A disciple of the very darkness that threatens to devour our city, your loved ones..." Elijah pulled the guy away from the railings harshly, "...and mine." He picks the guy up and over the railing and is now holding him by his neck choking him.
"Now, whether or not you despise us, my family will do everything in its power to remove this scourge from New Orleans. I recommend you do the same..." Elijah shoved hood free hand inside of the guy chest and rips his heart out. Then he drops his body onto our floor level.
And I thought Nik was the most dramatic.
(I'm just know finding out that season 4 and season 5 only have 13 episodes. But after watching today's episode, I just want to skip to the last episode so I can start writing season 5 and be done with this fanfic so them I can write legacies and bash Landon however much I want.
I don't know what it is but I do not like Landon, or at least I don't like him in the first season. I never had the interest to watch season two because by the time I finished season 1, season 2 wasn't really mentioned a lot. Dude was so damn annoying.)

The Rowan Fox, Tail 1: The Missing Children
Deep in the Maple Woods sits a mountain of old. Humans have claimed it and today a city called Redlog covers it from peak to foot. Meet Josei, one of many medicine makers living in the city of red roofs. Hers is the start of many tales, home to a very special fox. Like foxes often do, this one finds himself plenty of trouble. (Thought I would be gone forever did you? I'm back again! This time with a book that actually has an ending. I know because I've written it. I will be editing each chapter then releasing it here as they're done, probably once or twice a week. It's a shorter tale than what I've written before but that was the goal from the start. I really need to learn how to finish a story so this was a big accomplishment for me. I'll be writing The Rowan Fox in several parts instead, short but hopefully sweet.) (This story is a combination of some of my favorite things: folktales, foxes, ancient forests, and feel good slice of life. I hope you like it!)
