《Home | The Originals》Chapter 82: Belaga

"Go away, Davina." I said for the hundredth time today as I pack a few clothes for the road.
"Please, let me come with you." Davina begged me. She has been standing in front of the Compound waiting for me ever since she heard I was leaving to get Kol. I'm surprised Nik haven't found her yet.
"You will see Kol when I bring him back to New Orleans." I said slamming my trunk close.
"Why can't I see him now?" Davina asked me slamming my door close so I wouldn't enter my car.
"You know exactly why you're not seeing him now." I told her sternly.
"I already paid my punishment off when you stole my magic." Davina said.
"None of this would have happened if you had just listen to me or Marcel and stop this vengeance against Klaus. And I didn't steal all your magic. It will come back eventually. Now move." I said giving her no room to rebuttal me. Davina slowly moved her arm allowing me to get inside and drive off leaving her there watching my car leave the Compound.
~~~
I drove all the way to New York breaking every single speed limit just to get to this city. I parked my car in front of a bar that is currently close.
I walked into the empty bar to see a girl cleaning glasses and a dirty bar table. A cute brunette from what I could see. "Hello." I greeted her as I walk up to the table.
"We're close." She said while not even looking at me.
"I know that, darling. I'm looking for someone. He is ya tall" I raised my hand over mine since pretty much every man I meet is taller than me, "brown hair, cocky face, has an accent." I described to her.
The brunette finally looks up to me. "Left last night. A few hours before we had closed down." She answered before going back to finish her work.
"Thank you, love." I said and left the bar with a smile. My smile soon turned into a frown when I stepped out the bar. I was about to go back to my car when the scent of blood hit me.
My eyes twitched and my hybrid face appeared and disappeared. A snack wouldn't hurt anybody. I followed to the smell to an alleyway and when I turned the corner stopped.
The very vampire I had recently just described is right here in front of me feeding on a very dead brunette. "I hope you save some blood for me." I called out.
Kol stop feeding on the human to look up at me with his vampire face. His blood red eyes disappeared and a smile grew on his face. He dropped the corpse to the floor and whooshed to me, giving me a tight hug.
"Hi Kol." I greeted returning the hug.
"What brings you all the way to the big apple?" Kol asked me once we pull away from each other.
"I need you to come back to New Orleans with me. Something happened." I said and Kol smile went down a bit.
~~~
"So let me rephrase what you just told me. Davina stole a spell from you that can break any sire link. She didn't know that the spell requires you to perform it so when she did the spell to break Nik's sire, it failed miserably. Now she has to rebuild her magic as a punishment for using your spell because you took it." Kol repeated what I had told him.
"That pretty much sums it up." I said as I speed down the road.
"I'm starting to think you are a bit more evil than Nik. A dozen of grimoires that punishes any witch that tries to use a spell from it." Kol said.
"That is what majority of the vampires I meet told me back when I was pregnant and me and Nik had broke up." I said.
"I'm glad I have met you, Nix. This family really needed you." Kol said.
"I'm glad to. I can definitely say my life have changed for the better in all of my thousand years."
~~~
I dropped Kol off at Davina's place and left to the Compound since Nik called me, Elijah, and Freya to meet at home.
"It was him. It was Gaspar Cortez." Klaus said looking a bit freaked out.
"I assume this is someone from your box of letters." Freya said. Nik has kept a box full of letters from his victims.
"The youngest son of a particularly vile family of warlords I dealt with in the 17th century." Nik said.
"Didn't that Philistine pigsty go up in flames?" I asked.
"Pigsty?" Nik repeated looking at me as if I was crazy. "Belaga was my favorite artist's retreat. Someone had to pay for that so I murdered Gaspar's brute of a father." Nik said.
I let a silent sigh escape me as Nik rants about this. He was so passionate about Belaga it was annoying and the way pace was hideous.
"And?" Freya asked knowing that was not all that Nik had done.
"And one or two—"
"Five." Elijah cut in correcting Nik.
"Five of his bloodthirsty brothers." Nik continued.
"Don't forget the mistress." Elijah said making me confused.
"That was an accident." Nik pointed at him.
"The point is, that Gaspar was but a footnote." Elijah said looking at both me and Freya.
"Until he became a vampire, hell-bent on hunting me. He's a cunning deviant, known to compel borders of the helpless to aid him with his tasks. You see, this is exactly what I was concerned about. Devils of all kinds, crawling out of their crevices to strike me." Nik said
"NIX!!!"" I hear the voice of Kol yell out in the Compound. Nik was the first to whoosh away as me, Elijah, and Freya just walk.
Nik was standing there speechless as he looks at his brother. "Welcome home brother." Nik greeted pulling him in a big hug.
Once Nik pulled away Elijah went up to him. "Hello Elijah." Kol said trying to make him say anything beside having him just stare.
"You haven't aged a day." Elijah said and then they soon hug each other.
Kol looked at Freya and his eyebrows scrunched in confusion. "And you are?" He asked.
"Freya." She introduced.
"Oh, right. The long lost older sister." Kol said finally remembering who she was.
~~~
There are pro's and con's for dating Nik. And I hate that I am now sitting on a bed reading these stupid letters. Kol is here as well, having to go through the suffer of reading these things with me.
"Well, isn't this the welcome home." Elijah said as he walks in and he also grabs a letter. "Already at the mercy of Niklaus, and just in time to help the rest of us clean up his mess." Elijah folded up the letter he grabbed and held it out to Kol. "Do you miss being dead, yet?" He asked him.
"Keep up your ceaseless whining and I'm sure he will." Nik said as he walks with blood in a wine glass.
"Why the bloody hell do I have to read these letters?" I asked Nik.
"Because I love you, and you left me this morning to bring Kol here." He said. He held the glass to Kol. "Here. I compelled the house keeper."
"Next time, a blood bag will be fine." Kol said as he take the glass from him. "I'm meant to be off the fresh stuff." Kol take a sip.
"Attempting to be a better man for your girlfriend?" Nik asked.
"As if your not doing the same thing." I commented making him shut it.
"So remind me, who is this Cortex?" Kol asked.
"His family decimated Belaga." Kol said.
"Ugh, Belaga. That place was hideous." Kol said making Nik look at him frustratedly.
"Thank you, Kol." Elijah commented.
"I said the said thing as well. That place should have never existed in this world." I said.
"No taste. Either of you." Nik said.
"Alright calm down. I know exactly how to find your enemies. As long as our new sister doesn't chafe at me for teaching her a quick spell. Mind if I burn these?" Kol asked.
"I would help, but I'm on baby duty today." I said then I left the room

If there is not some sort of notice as to why I have vanished, then I'm probably dead. Let's hope I don't die then, eh? *Ducks under flying knife* I own this cover, put my own blood, sweat and an hour of my time into it. Ahahaha! This story is inspired (I stress this word, as because most of the story is different) by Will Wight’s Cradle. I highly recommend you read it! (Please for gods sake, if you have something to say, please do it in a curteous fashion. I don’t need any more maniacs flying at me and trying to stab me with sporks, I am already insane enough to fill that role.*Winks*) **What is This Story?** Think cultivation mashed with western fantasy, put into a pot to boil and then drunk while it's pipping hot. All the while a mad man(me) cackles insanely over the pot, stirring. It draws from xianxia lightly, which means no exasperated angry young masters. No “genuis” or “prodigy” MC, one that is not OP, or anything of the like. If you don’t like cultivation novels, this might still be up your alley. MC focuses on “Life Shaping”, see poll 2 for more Info. Warning! If your are squeamish, that gore and traumatizing content tag is there for a reason. I shall dive into both bloody and disturbing scenes and the questionable ethics of manipulating life, and some of it won’t be pretty. With a dose of realism added in. I do add my own evi- I mean despic- no, sorry, interesting twists aswell. >:) Also, I HATE info dumps! *Steps out of the way of a charging semi* Still not dead! Arc 1 (Kindling): Chapter 1 - 13 Arc 2 (Metempsychosis): Chapter 14 - 29 Arc 3 (???): Chapter 30 - ??? A disclaimer, I am new author and am still feeling out my limitations. This story is my hope of bettering my writing skills and to have fun. Buckle up and enjoy the insane journey that is Katra. (Pronounced as cah-tra)
