《Home | The Originals》Chapter 17: False Accusations

Me and Nik found the shack Hayley was being held in. We found a dead hybrid on the porch before walking inside.
"I thought you said you couldn't make anymore hybrids?" I asked him as I look around the place.
"I can't. The only way for me to make hybrids is if I feed them my blood and they would have to drink from a doppelganger. And the only doppelganger I know is now a vampire." He said.
"Well, that sucks. I'm not even sure if I can make vampire witch hybrids, but I'm not even going to try and see if that could possibly work." I said.
"Why not? You could make a whole other species." Nik asked me.
"Becoming a hybrid made me powerful. I can channel from my vampire side as much as I want and since I'm 1000 years old my magic is pretty strong to a point where I could get rid of the other side and bring it back if I wanted to. I don't want to make another species if one day they will stab me in the back. I've been through enough in my lifetime and yet I cannot catch a break from people trying to destroy me. I lost everything a hundred years ago when the fire burned down the opera house." I ranted and that makes Nik look at me with curiosity.
"What do you mean by that? We're you there when my family fled New Orleans?" He asked me. Before I could say anything I hear two pair of footsteps walking our way and Nik and I went out the door to see Hayley and Elijah walking towards us. "There you are. I see you found our wandering stray. Perhaps she could shed some light in the situation. This," Nik kicks the body of the hybrid off the porch, "would appear to be a the body of a hybrid."

"His name was Dwayne." Hayley said.
"Well, whoever he was, I didn't sire him. Any idea how that's possible?" Nik asked her.
"As if you didn't know." Hayley said then took a step his way, Elijah grabbed her arm before she could do anything.
I'm honestly confused on what's happening. I mean, how did Dwayne become a hybrid when Nik can't make anymore because his blood bag became a vampire.
"Aren't you two fast friends?" Nik taunted as Elijah stepped in front of Hayley protectively. "Well, come on, then. What horrible accusation have you conspired to levy against me?" Nik asked them already knowing what they were going to say.
"Tyler Lockwood brought Hayley here to test a theory, that the blood of her child could be used to sire hybrids. He claims you knew that. Furthermore, you intended to use this knowledge to build an army." Elijah said and my jaw dropped.
How the bloody hell could Nik know his child can make hybrids when he didn't know he was able to procreate. Elijah should have known better. He fought with Nik so he can make the deal with Sophie.
"And, of course, you assume it's true. I mean, why else would I show any interest in my own flesh and blood? A heartbroken, little crybaby points his finger at me, and my own brother falls in line, eager to believe it." Nik said his voice gets louder. "How quickly you assume the worst, especially when it comes from her." His voice went back to low.
"Spare me you indignation. When have you ever demonstrated any kind of concern towards Hayley or her child beyond your own selfish pursuits, and what was it you once said to me? "Every King needs an heir."" Elijah said making me shake my head.

"My big brother, so you doubt my intentions. Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Standing beside the noble Elijah, how can I be anything but the lesser brother— A liar, A manipulator, a bastard?" Nik said and the tension in the air got extremely thick when he referred to himself as a bastard. He walked towards Elijah. "That's all I am to you, isn't it, and to Rebekah, and judging by the way Hayley hangs on your every word, it's clear she feels the same way. No doubt, my child will, as well."
"Brother, if I—" Elijah started to say before Klaus cut him off and put his hands on top of his shoulders.
"We've said all that needs to be said, brother." Nik backs away with a smile on his face. "I'll play the role I've been given. He turns around but not before he speeds back to Elijah and bites him in the neck. Hayley yelled out and squats down to check on Elijah. "You two enjoy each other's company. You'll have much to bind over once the hallucinations and dementia set in." Elijah stood back up. "Consider that bite my parting gift to you both." Nik walks past them both.
I didn't have this much drama in all my thousand years. I start to follow after Nik when Hayley grabbed my arm. "Where are you going?" She asked me.
I furrowed my eyebrows at her question. "With Klaus." I said like it was the obvious thing.
"He will hurt you." Hayley said making me roll my eyes.
"Hayley, you and Elijah should have known what Klaus' reaction was when Sophie told him he was having a child. I may not have known him for long but I picked up that he is narcissistic and paranoid. It may have been unplanned or a mistake, take it however you will, but you've been part of this family since you got pregnant. Have a bit more faith in him." I said before looking at Elijah as he ponders my words. "Both of you."
I left to go find Klaus in hopes that he would take me and Angel home. I found the black car after a while and kinda surprised that it would still be here. I got into the passenger seat and he was just sitting there staring at nothing.
"Thank you." He said breaking the silence between us. I looked at him confused before I figured out he must have heard me. I didn't say anything though and he starts the car and drove us back to his home.
(After watching that episode, I'm kinda disappointed they assumed Klaus will use his own child after he had a fit when he learned Hayley was pregnant.)

Lost Things
"In this disordered continent, where everyone seeks to be the heroes of their own tales, there are still some rooms for smaller stories to breathe." "Past, present, and future—keep your eyes open, and see where they lead you to." This story follows three housemates’ lives: Carson Calding, Virgil Barion, and John Salore—onto their adventures of finding Carson’s past, Virgil’s present, and John’s future. Despite their clashing backgrounds and circumstances that forced them together, they’re definitely going to find the things they had lost, for sure. Each entire chapter will be updated biweekly. There'll be three smaller parts per each chapter. Note that this story was written to be an interactive one, with polls at the end of each parts deciding on what happens next. Though, the polls for this story won't be available on Royal Road updates. (I also upload this in Arcane Odyssey forum, and it's currently the only place where I open the polls and use the poll results from.)
