《Home | The Originals》Chapter 1: Their Arrival

"What the bloody hell do you want Marcellus?" Phoenix said annoyed as she turns around to look at the said vampire with an innocent smile on his face.
"Is it illegal to check up on a friend?" Marcel asked as he wraps an arm around Phoenix's shoulder and continued their walk
"Last time I check, I barely know you to consider you being my friend. If you came to me because I killed your little nightwalkers then you can leave. I don't regret a thing and they should know better to start a fight." Phoenix said and pushed his arm off of her speeding up her walk.
Marcel rushed to her and pinned her against the wall. "It seems to me that you don't know the rules here. Witches are not allowed to perform magic here. If they do, they get killed. Should be easy enough to follow." Marcel said holding her against the wall by her neck.
Phoenix smirks at him before quickly switching their positions. "Let me make this clear for you," she got closer to him, "if you and the rest of your buddies attack me again I will leave their body parts on your front door for you to see and a few just out and about around this town. Would be bad for business if all the tourist and locals leave. I know all about your rules, Marcellus. And to make sure you don't come back to threaten me again, your vampires were attacking a pregnant woman. It is against your rules to kill kids or pregnant women, right?" She said before speeding to her apartment, leaving a very shocked vampire in the alleyway.

I sat in my living room criss crossed with Angel sitting in between my legs on her back just giggling and waving her arms and legs all around. A fake smile soon replaced my real one when my phone started to ring. I answered it without looking at who calling me. "Who is this and what the hell do you want?" I said into the phone while I tickle Angel making her laugh a bit too hard.
Marcel said as I hear music being played in the background.
I let a sigh go past my lips, "I'll be there, but if it is not an emergency I will make you pay for interrupting my time with my daughter." I said and then hung up the phone. I look down at my daughter who was still smiling at me but has no idea what kind of world she has entered. I start to get up on my feet but as soon as I did Angel started crying.

Ever since she was born she's been nothing but clingy. I would have her sleep in the bed with me on my chest because she gets upset if I try to put her in the bassinet and when I do put her in her bassinet after she goes to sleep, she wakes up having a fit. I don't know how Angel can be this clingy to me when she's only a few weeks old.
I quickly but gently pick Angel up and she immediately starts to calm down. "At this point, mommy won't have time to find her a man because you won't let me leave." I said to her but she just looks around her home while wailing her arms around. I grab my keys, wrapped Angel in a blanket and gave her her pacifier then left out the door, closing and locking it with my magic.
~~~
I get to the abattoir where Marcel was holding his little party only to stop once I saw who he was talking to. Klaus Mikaelson. The famous original hybrid. I knew their story when I came back to New Orleans for awhile. I knew why they came and I know why they fled. Honestly if Klaus didn't kill his father I for sure would have. No one was going to burn my city to the ground while I am still alive. And if I knew any better, The Originals, like wolves, always come together. So if Klaus was here, so is one of his siblings.
"What you can do is, you can tell me what this thing is you have with the witches." Klaus demanded Marcel.
Marcel smiles, brushing off Klaus' tone of voice. "You know I owe you everything I got, but I'm afraid I have to draw the line on this one. This is my business. I control the witches in my town. Let's just leave it at that." Marcel said. I got a bit pissed off listening to him.
"Your town?" Klaus repeated
"Damn straight" Marcel said with a proud smirk on his face. So he thinks he have control over me.
"Ha! That's funny," Klaus points at him, "because when I left 100 years ago, you were just a pathetic, little scrapper still trembling from the lashes of the whips of those who would keep you down, and now look at you— Master of your domain, prince of the city." The music stops as everyone turns to look at the two. "I'd like to know how." Klaus said making the smirk fall from Marcel's face.
Angel grabbed a piece of my hair so she could calm herself down. She can somehow feel the tension in air getting extremely thick.
"Why? Jealous?" He asked before his toothy smile came back. "Hey, man, I get it. 300 years ago, you helped build a backwater penal colony into something. You started it, but then you left. Actually, you ran from it. I saw it through. Look around. Vampires rule this city now. I got rid of the werewolves. I even found a way to shut down the witches. The blood never stops flowing, and the party never ends. You want to pass on through? You want to stay a while? Great. What's mine is yours, but it is mine— My home, my family, my rules." Marcel said getting into the situation.
"His home, huh?" I thought as I stare at them. "He wants to play his little political game then it's fine by me, if there's one thing I learned during my life is that every king bows down to a queen. And he has another thing coming for him if he thinks it's just his home."
"And if someone breaks those rules?" Klaus asks after his little rant.
"They die. Mercy is for the weak. You taught me that, too, and I'm not the prince of the quarter, friend." He got close to Klaus face. "I'm the King!" He yelled. "Show me some respect."
I stood behind the two idiots angry because Angel was crying when Marcel yelled. Everyone turned my way to look at a very pissed off hybrid. They then took a step away from me as I walked closer to Marcel and Klaus. Marcel looked at me challenging. I raised an eyebrow at him before I chanted a spell in my head. Soon every vampire were on their knees holding their head in pain except for Klaus who staggered a bit.
"I told you not to bother me unless it was life or death. So thinking that I want to watch you parade about the power you have over people is important." I yelled at him using more power into their migraine and he and everyone else yelled out in pain. Klaus got down on one knee holding onto his head. "You don't control me, Marcellus. And this is not just your home, it's mine too. Call me again and watch how I'll burn everything you cherish to the ground." I said and then stopped chanting and walked out the party trying to calm Angel down.
~~~
"Is it done?" Elijah asked Klaus who was leaning against the door frame.
"As a matter of fact, yes. Your underhanded deal worked quite well. Marcel was only too happy to accept my blood, even as he accepted my heartfelt apologies. His man Thierry yet lives, and I remain a welcome guest in the French quarter. My only concern now is this coven of impudent witches." Klaus said as he walks closer to his brother and his baby mother.
"I believe them to be honorable. They did release Hayley to me, although they haven't been entirely forthcoming. Marcel obviously has something that they need. They don't want him dead. There must be a reason why." Elijah said
"Could it possibly be the witch that showed up last night with her child and then gave everyone near her a vampire migraine?" Klaus asked his brother while Hayley looks at them confused.
"The witches said her name was Phoenix Fire. She's one of the most powerful witch of her time. She doesn't get along with them for reasons unknown. So I would like to get her on our side before things escalate." Elijah says.
