Harper opened the door, ready to leave. She stopped to look at Angelina and smirked. "But it doesn't mean that I'll be letting Evelina off."

"..."

And just like that she left.

Shortly after, Angelina met up with Marie in her room. Angelina took one last look of the room she has resided in ever since her second life and felt... happy. She thought she would feel sad. But she didn't. Though she has formed a sort of attachment to this room, she's happy to never step in it again.

"Miss! Is it true? Is it really true? Your... You're being adopted by the royal family?" Marie was so excited, her smile was about to stretch out of her face.

"Of course, it's true. And you and Serina are coming with me." Angelina flipped her hair back and an arrogant grin spread across her angelic face. It's about time she finally leaves this torturous family.

"What? Really? But... Is that really allowed, miss? We're still servants of the Skyler family after all... The duke wouldn't possibly approve."

"Of course it's allowed! What can he do? He didn't approve of me leaving for the royal family and I still managed to do so. Come, help me pack, Marie. Don't forget to pack up your belongings as well." Angelina laughed.

"Yay! I'm so excited!" Marie jumped with joy. Never in her wildest dreams has she ever dared to think about moving into the palace. But now she can!

The two spent a few hours packing and taking anything valuable that belonged to them. Gowns, jewelries, hidden money, the paintings Angelina had finished to this day, and many more. Just as Angelina thought she had taken everything, she remembered something else.

She went over to her bedside table and pulled out a sacred-looking book with a white gem on the cover. Once Angelina touched the gem, it turned red in an instant and as if something had been unlocked, it opened itself for her.

During the early days of her second life, Angelina had used this book to write down the events that will happen in the future. But it didn't take long for her to realize that nothing would go as she remembered it. Because of her reincarnation, everything had changed. Thus she used this book as more of a secret notebook to plan out schema and tricks she'd like to test out on Evelina.

Angelina flipped through the pages and as expected, a previously blank page had changed. On the corner right of the page was ... a smiley face.

' It turns out even an immortal being has a sense of humor...'

After seconds of staring at the provoking and funny smiley face, Angelina closed the book and packed it in with the others.

"Let's go, miss! An Imperial carriage has already arrived outside!" Marie returned to Angelina's room and urged. Unlike most days, she wasn't wearing her maid uniform. Wearing a simple but flattering dress and a cute matching hat, her sweet smile perfected the look. Seeing her like this, the uneasiness in Angelina's heart disappeared. She had already changed before and only needed to walk out with Marie by her side as the other servants brought out their luggages for them.

They arrived in the lobby and immediately caught the sight of the four figures standing by the side. The duke, the duchess, Alex, and Evelina with Lia close behind her.

Angelina stood before them and looked right at the ashen faced duke with a sly grin on her face. She played with her silver locks before saying, "It's been fun, truly a joy. I'll miss you all so much! Well...not really."

"You brat!" The duke scolded with veins popping out of his forehead. But Angelina paid him no attention and turned to Evelina, who was staring at her with a pale face, eyes shaking and legs trembling. She looked completely haggard, as if the once bright and charming lady Evelina had disappeared forever.

"I'm looking forward to spending time with you again, Eve. I'll make sure to invite you to all of my parties!" Angelina stated, she was smiling but it caused Evelina's frown to only turn gloomier.

Angelina swept her gaze over the silent four once again and chuckled inwardly. "Nothing to say? Well I guess this makes it easier for me. Oh! But before I leave, I do have something for you all. You could say it's a 'farewell gift'" She nodded at Serina's direction and Serina slowly walked to the estate's four remaining masters to give them each an envelope.

"Alright, let's leave now. I wouldn't want their majesties to wait too long. After all, it's already quite late." Angelina sighed and gestured for Serina and Marie to follow her outside. Before stepping into the carriage, Angelina glanced over her shoulders and spotted the head maid. She shot her a meaningful nod and Angelina winked as a response.

Just because she would no longer reside in the Skyler family estate, it does not mean she can't know what's going on inside. Who knows? Perhaps something useful would arise one day and be quite the assistance to her.

Angelina looked out the window to only see Beatrice waving to her whilst the rest merely stood there with dark expressions. It's truly a relief to finally not see those three everyday...

"Wow, I can't believe we're actually leaving!" Marie reached out to hold Angelina's hand and smiled thoughtfully. She had lived and grew in the Skyler estate for the majority of her life. Though there were hardships, it's still hard to let go of the place she had called hope for years.

"Hm? Will you be missing this place?" Serina raised her brows at Marie.

"Well, um not really. But it will be hard to adjust to my new life in the palace. I wonder if the palace staff's requirements are even stricter than the Skyler family's..." Marje dreaded the thought. The Skyler family had already made countless rules for their servants, if the palace is even stricter with their servants, she's not sure that she can make it!

"I thought you were an adult, sister Marie. You shouldn't behave so childishly in front of your lady. Behaviors like these are viewed as disrespectful." Serina sighed and advised.

"What? But I'm sure Miss likes me this way! My sparkling personality is what makes me outshine the rest and so special!" Marie pouted stubbornly. She hugged Angelina's arm and looked at her miss pleadingly.

"..." Angelina broke into a soft laughter and squeezed her cheeks. "Ha... Sometimes I can't tell who's the adult here, Marie."

"That's good, right? It means I appear young!" Marie grinned pridefully, not seeming to be ashamed or embarrassed in the slightest.

"And childlike." Serina was not moved by her charms and refuted mercilessly.

"Ahhh! So mean..." Marie hid herself in Angelina's arms.

The rest had dispersed, leaving the departing Evelina and Beatrice in the lobby. Gazing at her eldest daughter's back as she was preparing to leave, Beatrice hesitated before exclaiming, "Wait, Eve."

Evelina stopped and glanced at her nervous mother over her shoulders with a cold frown.

"I have something to say." Beatrice bit her lip as she avoided Evelina's glaring eyes.

"If it's more apologizing, I don't want to hear it. You know they're useless, right? I won't forgive you." Evelina scoffed, not moved in the slightest.

"Please just listen. I don't ask for your forgiveness, Eve. I just want you to know something!" Beatrice paused before adding, "I don't hate you. I never did. I still don't. No words can express how regretful I feel of what happened. I was wrong, I admit that. If I can change anything in my life, it would be that! I'm sorry. You hate me apologizing but this is how I truly feel. I was so foolish and cowardly, I still am today. But that's no excuse. I didn't stop you to tell excuses. The point is that...I love you. I never thought of abandoning you."

"Heh... Say what you want, mother. You're all talk. You won't do anything, will you? Just go stand aside and do nothing but cower like you always do!" With that, Evelina stormed off with a worried Lia trailing behind.

After they arrived at the palace, it was already past midnight. Due to the matter of Angelina's resident palace not having been prepared or chosen, Angelina slept in Elizabeth's palace in the same room she occupied during her previous five day stay in the palace.

Becoming a member of the royal family is no fast process. It would at least take months to prepare everything. But the first task is to choose a residence. As soon as the morning sun arose, Angelina was woken up by the empress's secretary to pick out available palaces for herself. The secretary wasn't a very patient person, thus Angelina did not even have time to do her hair and could only put on a simple dress in a rush.

She, the stern faced secretary, and a few other servants toured around and after moments of contemplating, Angelina finally made a decision.

Her residence shall be the Eternal Rose Palace.

The palace holds a lot of history. For one, the current Emperor's great aunt used to reside in the Eternal Rose Palace, and she was a Sienna. It is rumored that the Eternal Rose Palace remains shrouded with the essence of her powers even after her passing.

When Angelina was given a tour of her new home, she was greatly satisfied. The architecture, furnishing, and decorations all suited her taste. She couldn't be more satisfied.

As Angelina settled into her new room with the help of Marie and Serina, the empress's secretary came back to ask her something.

"Change my name?"

"Yes, lady Angelina." The secretary answered. Due to the reason that Angelina has not been crowned, the servants are told to address her as lady for the time being.

Changing one's name after being accepted into the Imperial family is not a requirement but the choice is there. In the past, most of the adopted princes and princesses chose to change their names. But there are a few who chose to keep their birth name.

Just as Angelina was about refuse, a certain thought came to mind. Before, she was content with being called 'Angelina' and being referred to with that name, but now it feels strange to keep it. After all, the true owner of this identity has returned. Though Harper had chosen to start a new identity, it still didn't feel right to Angelina.

After a few seconds, Angelina made her choice and told the secretary, "I would like to change my name to... Lilith. From now on, I shall be called Lilith."

Inside a dimly lit bedroom, a woman sat on the edge of her bed as she stared at a blank white envelope. Beatrice had hesitated in opening the envelope Serina had handed to her the day before but it's about time she opened it. Why should she be afraid? This is just a letter from her own daughter after all. She needs to stop fearing everything.

Beatrice cut the envelope open with a letter opener and unfolded the letter. What she expected to be a note turned out to be a poem...

[There is a beauty, with brows as beautiful as the spring willow's branch, eyes as charming as a sea of stars; face just like the peach blossoms of March, her smile like many flowers in bloom. Her appearance and fragrance is as aromatic as that of a flower. Slender waist, alluring presence; graceful figure like that could compete with the sun at noon. Her voice so soothing it makes me shudder. Face so charming it causes me to stutter. No other beauty could compare to her, my stunning mother. ]

Unbeknownst to her, tears shed on the paper. She didn't know why they fell but they just did.

*************

Inside another room, a man glared at the crumbled up letter that had been thrown aside to the corner of the study.

What was that poem!? A bunch of nonsensical sentences by a little ungrateful brat!

[Having your last name makes me ill. You make me so angry I want to kill. I hate that I'm your daughter, hate that you're my father. Wish that you would just decay and die, so I no longer have to look at your disgusting and selfish eyes. It's like you don't even accept me. What kind of father can you be? How do you live? Do you regret? I hardly doubt. I'm sure I'm the last thing you think about. Stay where you are; don't bother. You're selfish, I hate you. You're not my father. But that's okay, you see, because I don't need your money. I hate you, you're not my father, and guess what, now I'm no longer your daughter.]
