Angelina stared at the ceiling of her bedroom while laying in bed.

It's been two days since Evelina fainted. She recovered rather quickly. There were no trace of anything wrong with her. But it only made Angelina more suspicious.

Evelina has been acting weird these past two days. Evelina was always looking at her...

When Angelina would turn to face her gaze, Evelina would immediately turn away and pretend nothing happened.

Evelina still acted like her usual self....in a way..

She still acted innocent, naive, and kind-hearted. But also seems slightly more mature.

Angelina sighed. She's too tired to think right now. Ever since her debut, she's been receiving a lot of invitations from nobles. She even received a few 'love letters' from young men.

Angelina's gaze fell upon a pile of letters on the floor and smirked.

The next day during breakfast, Angelina once again caught Evelina staring at her.

But this time she just let her keep staring.

"It truly reliefs me that you've recovered quickly Eve" the duchess said with a tone filled with motherly love.

"I'm sorry I have worried you, mother." Evelina's expression was extremely apologetic. One could barely notice it was fake.

"....." Angelina stole a glance of Evelina and retreated her gaze after a moment.

"Eve, I heard viscountess Aurabella's son invited you to a ball" the duke said with interest.

"Oh yes! The autumn ball" Evelina said exclaimed with excitement.

"Well will you be attending?" Alex asked as he cuts a piece of his steak.

"Of course. If I decline, he would think I'm rude"

"Hahaha! That's my daughter!" The duke let out a bark of laughter.

"Pfft..." Angelina sneered and rolled her eyes. Catching sight of that, Evelina's smile twitched and brows furrowed.

"Is something wrong my dear sister?" Angelina turned to Evelina and smiled.

"...... it's nothing...sister.." Evelina slowly revealed a smile.

"Did you receive an invitation sister?" Evelina asked with a pure smile on her face.

Angelina's eyes squinted. Was Evelina trying to embarrass her since she did not receive an invitation? Or did she not mean anything by her words..?

Angelina was conflicted. These past day, Evelina has been strangely acting nice and close to her....

All the compliments Evelina gave her were not filled with hidden meaning. But Angelina could not accept it. There was no way Evelina was just suddenly nice to her.

"Unfortunately, I did not receive one. But it's alright sister. I have been invited to lady Rienne's tea party." Angelina said without the slightest bit of disappointment or sadness in her face.

"........" Evelina obviously understood the hidden meaning in Angelina's words. Although she wasn't invited to the autumn ball held by Rulias, she was invited by the daughter from the Balloria family. Someone who was worlds apart from Rulias in status.

The Aurabella family could only dream of having as much power as the Ballorias.

Evelina's heart hardened, but her smile remained the same.

"Really? It's good that sister has made more friends" Evelina said happily.

Angelina smiled but she couldn't help but get shivers. ' what the hell is wrong with her!?'

Angelina would much rather have Evelina have ulterior motives when talking to her, than having her sincerely speaking to her with pure intentions!

Angelina really wanted to reveal an ugly expression, but many were watching her and she couldn't slip out of the loving sister persona.

"Thank you sister! But...I could never compare to you.... I can't even comprehend how many admires you have" Angelina pretended to admire her.

Evelina smiled back. Her smile was so beautiful, one couldn't help but hold their breath and stare in awe. But Angelina could only hold her breath in disgust.

She didn't care how beautiful Evelina looked. To her, Evelina will always be a hideous and dirty pig.

That day, Angelina and Evelina accompanied each other while taking a stroll in the rose garden.

The seasons were changing and the weather has gotten rather cold.

They both wore white fox fur coats over their dresses that were specially made for the cold weather.

The trees in the garden has lost it's green color and was painted to orange and other colors by the season.

"Sister, what do you think of brother Chase?" Evelina asked with an innocent and pure smile. Angelina stiffened due to Evelina's sudden question.

Angelina lowered her head and closed her eyes and said, "I think the young master of the Casspan family is a....good man. Who is intelligent and warm."

Angelina turned to the beautiful and cute Evelina and smiled. "I'm know he'll treat you well Evelina."

Evelina's body turned stiff and her smile tightened. But it was only for a second.

"Thank you...sister" it only took Evelina a second to fix her expression.

After taking a stroll in the garden with Evelina, Angelina was invited by Charles to a cafe downtown.

When she arrived there, she was stunned. There was no one else there but Charles and the staff.

It seems he booked the whole place for her.

Angelina was moved. She felt a sense of importance.

'how great it is to be royalty!' Angelina exclaimed in her heart.

"It's been a while, Lily" Charles smiled gently while pulling out a chair for Angelina.

"Indeed. Thank you" Angelina gracefully sat down.

They spent the afternoon chatting and getting to know each other. Charles already knows a lot about Angelina, but Angelina barely knew him. She didn't remember him after all...

Charles already knew about everything Angelina was telling about herself, but he still listened attentively.

Angelina was praising herself when she noticed something. Charles was paying attention to her, but it also looks like he had something to say.

Charles really did have something to tell her. In his past life after Lilith's death, he looked into her past, and he found out something.

But....he couldn't bare to tell her. He was afraid Angelina would freak out.

He specially invited Angelina to the cafe to tell her this. But when he saw her prideful self chatting, eating, and bragging about herself happily, he suddenly didn't have the heart to tell her.

"Is there something your highness would like to tell me?" Angelina asked politely. Although she does still address him as 'your highness', which made their relationship seem distant, she still felt comfortable enough to joke with him.

He was an Emperor! She couldn't just throw away all formalities!

"...... it's nothing, Lily." Charles couldn't do it.

They spent a few more minutes chatting and eating the meal before Angelina returned to the mansion.

When she arrived back at the mansion, the sun was already beginning to set.

"Welcome back, youngest miss" two male servants opened the door for Angelina.

"Mhm" Angelina nodded.

"M'lady" Eric called out to her from behind.

"Eric? What is it?" Angelina turned around and looked at Eric.

"Is something wrong?" Eric looked nervous and conflicted, so Angelina immediately knew something was wrong. For Eric who is usually calm, this was not something to ignore.

"She... there's something wrong with her..." Eric's lips trembled.

"Who do you mean? Evelina?" Angelina approached him.

"Yes."

"What...what did she do?"

Eric told her when he was passing by Evelina in the hallway earlier while Angelina was still away, Evelina leaned in, patted his shoulder and said, "Eric. Don't die okay?" Then she just left.

Angelina widened her eyes in shock. She too found it strange Evelina would suddenly say that.

"Hmph. Keep a close eye on her." Angelina sneered and muttered, "that dirty pig....what is she up to..."

As soon as Angelina finished her words, she heard a sweet voice from around the corner.

"It really is you" Evelina stood there and smiled gently. The light coming from the sunset made her look even more beautiful.

"Tsk..." Angelina frowned and made a gesture, signalling Eric to retreat and go somewhere else.

After Eric left, Evelina approached Angelina.

"Sister, why did you call me such a thing...?" Evelina smiled as she said that, with her hands behind her back. She looked completely harmless.

However Angelina's body still turned stiff and alarmed.

Evelina stopped walking and their distance was merely a step.

Then...Evelina said something that immediately made Angelina's heart drop.

"Or should I say, Lilith Bailey" Evelina sneered.
