《The Villainess's Great Revenge》17

The other staff members and the owner of the shop were shocked. They thought Angelina was just the daughter of a low rank noble, like a baron or maybe she's the daughter of a merchant. But turns out she's the daughter of a duke!
They all started to pity the man. They looked at him with pity in their eyes, but also some disgust. They knew he deserved it.
Assaulting a noble could lead to heavy charges. Maybe even death.
"You...!" The man was stunned and scared. He was proud to be the son of a merchant but he knew his father disliked him. So his father definitely wouldn't help him. In the past he would bully the other staff, and protected himself using his father as a shield. But unexpectedly he actually bit off more than he can chew today!
Angelina glanced at the owner then asked "is it alright if we borrowed him for a while?"
"O-of course..." The owner was scared. Angelina was smiling but he could tell she was no where near happy.
"What!? No!...you! How dare you! My father has been helping you for a long time! Is this how you repay me!?" The man shouted at the owner. He struggled fiercely while being restrained on the ground.
Angelina said elegantly "your father was the one who helped him right? Not you..and I'm sure your father wouldn't want to keep you anymore after this.."
She then ordered her knight to take him away and take care of it.
He nodded. One of the two knights took the man away and the other one stayed with Marie and Angelina.
Marie was still frightened but eventually calmed down. Then she got mad again.
"How dare he try to hit my miss with his disgusting and dirty hand! Ugh! I'm so mad!" Marie turned to Angelina "miss don't let him off! He tried to hurt you! And your amazing maid!"
Angelina suddenly felt like laughing. Angelina walked towards the owner of the shop.
"Will you be able to pay for the damages?" She asked while glancing at his recked shop. It was a complete mess. The window was broken and the items he was selling was all broken or on the floor.

The man sighed and said "no...i.... I don't have much money. I was going to sell my shop after 2 months anyway...but who would want to buy a messed up shop like mine now..."
Angelina smiled. She then told something to the man that made him have hope.
"Sir I would like to purchase your shop. If you sell it to me, I promise to give you 10% shares of the profit."
The man was stunned.
"Um miss...how old are you..?" He didn't want to be disrespectful but he was curious. Angelina looked extremely young, so he was confused.
"I'm 13" Angelina answered him.
"Your not lying right miss?" He couldn't believe it.
"Pfft...why would I lie sir?" Angelina found the situation funny.
"Miss aren't you too young!?" He was in disbelief. Normally girls her age would be throwing away money and spoiling themselves, but Angelina was different. She acted mature, too mature...
"That's why I told you that you can have a share of the profits. I'm too young and busy to run this shop so I need you to run it in my stead. "
"..." The man's jaw dropped. Was this real!? Could he really keep running his shop!?
He was sad when he made the decision to sell his shop. He loved running it. This shop was actually his father's. Before his father died, he gave the shop to him. But his stepmother and half brother was furious. They tried every means to get the shop, but failed. So they decided if they couldn't have it, he can't either.
"Come to the Skyler estate when you made up your mind. Tell them your there to see Angelina Skyler."
"Ah! Yes!" The man said.
"Alright let's go home Marie." Angelina said while walking away with Marie.
"Yes miss!" Marie said. She was happy to leave. She was afraid that someone else would try to hurt her miss!
As soon as they left, the staff questioned the owner, Robert.
"Boss are you really going to sell the shop to her!?"

"Is she serious? Or is she just joking?"
"She seems kind and she's also noble and the daughter of a duke! Maybe the shop can be saved!"
However there were still some people who disagreed.
"I don't know...what if she's a spoiled dumb rich girl who thinks they can do whatever they want! I don't want to work for her!"
"What if she chases us out and replaces us!? I have a family to support!"
The owner, Robert suddenly got a headache.
"Well I don't really have a choice now. If I don't sell it I'll be doomed and if I sell it to her at least I have a chance. She said I could keep running the store so maybe everything will be fine.."

Inside the carriage
"Miss, why did you want to buy the shop?" Marie asked. She was confused. Angelina has been acting strange lately. She's been studying diligently and was even able to catch up to her studies. She didn't think much of it since she was happy that Angelina became more intelligent. But why suddenly buy a shop?
"Well I thought I should find away bto support myself. The duk- I mean...father doesn't give me much allowance and I can't keep relying on him."
"Oh ok" Marie was a simple minded girl. She didn't think much of Angelina's words.
Soon they both arrived back at the mansion. The maids greeted Angelina when she came back and helped her change.
By now the sun was setting and the maids in the kitchen was preparing dinner. Angelina was studying as always in her room, when suddenly the duchess came to her.
"Lina?" The duchess called out to her, her head sticking out the door or Angelina's bedroom.
"Mother?" Angelina responded. She closed her book and approached the door.
The duchess came in her room looking nervous. Angelina had a weird feeling suddenly.
"Uh...I must inform you that special guests will be coming here tomorrow..." She said.
Angelina was confused. I was just guests...so why tell her directly?
"And?"
"The guests are the Casspan family...and they..."
"Wait! The Casspan family!?" Angelina panicked for a moment than calmed down.
"Why?" Angelina asked the duchess. She doesn't know why but she felt that something was not right.
"I....the Marquess's son...has looking for a fiance these days and it might be one of you..."
What the duchess said completely caught Angelina off guard. Wait...fiance!? But her past self, Lilith is Chase's fiance! What happened to her!?
"Wait...is that why the marquess came last time!?" Angelina panicked.
"Uhm, yes. But I don't know which of you will he choose. Don't worry dear! If you don't want to, I'll not force you to be engaged!" The duchess reassured Angelina. She knew Angelina disliked everytime the duchess spoke about engagements.
The duchess tried to decline the Marquess's offer. But the duke however sent a letter to the marquess, accepting the duke's offer. The duke wanted Evelina to marry to a powerful noble family. So he was very pleased when the marquess asked for one of his daughter's hand in marriage for his son. He was confident the marquess meant Evelina.
The duchess tried to persuade the duke, but it was hard to contact him especially since he's far away.
"I....thank you for coming to tell me mother. I'll see you at dinner.." Angelina said, gesturing the duchess to leave. The duchess sighed then left quietly.
This was shocking news to Angelina. But one question remains.... Why? Lilith was supposed to be his fiance! What happened to Lilith?
Angelina got worried. But she reassured herself by telling herself that is was more likely that the marquess will choose Evelina as his future daughter in law than her. Evelina was pretty, 'kind' and had a good reputation, plus she has debuted and Angelina hadn't.
But Angelina couldn't help but feel a little worried.
