《The Kings Heir》Kissing you goodbye

The tap on my should makes me jump and realization comes to me. I wipe my eyes and look down in his hands, I put the papers down on the couch and take her quickly into my hands cupping her small fragile face. I sit down with her and kiss her small little face to bits, her small smile warms my heart and burns at the same time.
"Everyone believed I killed you, the town made a small ceremony for you and buried you fake body. It worked." He says relieved and sits down moving the papers. I lean my head on his should and sigh in content, her eyes open and her blue eyes stare up at us and my heart breaks. My little twin.
"How shocked was everyone when you announced her and they saw her appearance?"
"Completely shocked. They wouldn't have believed it if the snow didn't show up. She stole everyone's heart."
"She definitely stole mine." I agree.
"Mine as well. She looks just like you." He says, I kiss her small little hand and smile at him.
"She's nothing I could have imagined. I dreamed of a boy but now I can't imagine my life without her." He says.
"Thank you." He says kissing my head.
"I did nothing."
"You gave me Mercy. I can never repay you." He says.
"She is pretty great I know." I reply. I feel his eruption of laughter on my side and it reminds me of the past eight months with him. I look up at him he stares at her in my hands sleeping peacefully.
"I think I'll miss you the most out of all of this Jamie." He says looking into my eyes.
"We do why we have to do." I sigh.

"I wish things could be different."
"But they aren't so we just deal. Come one let's spend time with our daughter before you have to leave." I urge and bring her into my room and place her on the bed. She opens her eyes and looks around but then soon closes them. Her necklace looks to big in her but looks just right on her.
"I love you." I coo and kiss her big pink cheeks. I just hold her in my arms and smell her baby scent. I couldn't never get tired of this smell. She starts crying loudly and I do what's an instinct, I pull my boob out out my bra and lift my shirt up and hope she latches, within a few minutes she latched and is eating peacefully. Demitri comes up to me and looks down at her eating quietly and looks back up at me. He walks towards me and kisses my lips tenderly.
"You really are the best thing that's happened to me." He says holding Mercy's head but directing his words to me.
"How's Corella with her?"
"Better than I expected, she felt terrible that she wasn't able to thank you before you died, and apologize for what she did to you. Lincoln and Parker don't leave Mercy's sight at all, unless I'm around but even when it's just Mercy and Corella they are there. She's safe." He assures I feel a slight better but still will always worry she's being taken care of.
"I'll send you videos and pictures of her every month, you won't miss out on her life, I can't do that, I wouldn't live with myself if I knew you were just here alone your whole life." He says cupping my face.

"I'll be okay, knowing she's surrounded by people who love her is enough for me." I reply, he nods his head and kisses my lips one final time. She pushes away from my boob and I start burping her on my shoulder a few minutes later she burps a few times. I keep her near my face and smell her small head and sigh in content.
"You're perfect Mercy."
"What does it mean for the kingdom with a female leader instead of male?" I question.
"It means change."
"What?" I ask dumbfounded.
"Everything is going to be different. She's a girl who looks nothing like her fathers relative or her father and posses more than one power. She's a change we needed." He says. She fussed in my arms and cries. I pass her off to Demitri and smile when she stops crying as soon as she realizes it's him.
"Already a daddy's girl. No fair." I pout smiling up at him. His red eyes gloss over mine and his smile reminds me why I love him. The toughest people are always the most vulnerable. When I'm around him I feel like I can be me.
"She's gonna have me wrapped around her finger." He gleams. It's a rare occasion to see him smile, but when he does it captures my whole being, he's always so stone faced, he's loose around her, love holds his eyes high.
"I love you." I tell him. He stops rocking her softly and looks back down at me. If time could stop this is where I'd want it to stop. Right here with me watching him being a loving father to our beautiful baby girl.
"I love you too." He says and kisses my lips loving and longingly. I savor his lips and seal them in the back of my mind. I pull away and look into his deep red eyes and the moment we met replays in my mind. He was deliciously handsome but would always be something I never wanted to admit. He is a vampire and I'm prey. But we're connect in more ways than a food chain. I'm utterly in love with him, but I'll never get to express it. I look back down at Mercy and look at my watch.
"We should be going now, Corella will soon wonder." He sighs and collects her bag. I nod my head and try not to cry. I look down on the couch and grab the pages I wrote.
"Here, I wrote letters on certain occasions for when she's older. Some are for you too, you can read them whenever you want though." I smile handing him the folded pages. He tucks them into her bag and I take her into my arms one last time. I kiss her small face and give one final smell test. He takes her back and kisses me one last time. He hold out a ring, gold ring with a black jewel in the center.
"What do I do with this?" I ask him taking t from his hand and placing it in my middle finger.
"Just something to remember us, me." He says.
"I'll never forget you." I tell him crying lightly and smiling up at him, I hug them both one final time and watch them leave and my solitary begins. Lord give me Mercy.

However, there are a few moments that may be traumatizing to some people. As for the gore, it shows up fairly often but not extensively. I've always loved violence in movies and books, (The Boys, Banshee, Kingdom of heaven, Vikings, etc.) I am descriptive of the scenes with gore. So be warned :) I have multiple MC and as a nooby writer, I've had a harder time writing from a female POV. Just a heads up. Don't kill me if I make the woman in my book seem weird. Bright Battle Story: Tactics Heart
This is Bright Battle Academy. It is not a place where your hand will be held or your failings compensated for. It is not a place for the weak, or the subversive, or the conspicuously diverse. This is Bright Battle Academy, where champions are forged and legends begin. Dwarfs? Once they were part of the great alliance. They helped build this very academy. But they were so stubborn, so unyielding, so unwilling to bend themselves to the rules. And so they weakened, and so they declined, and so their empires faded. What few that are left shun the academy. We have no dwarfs here. Rogues? Perhaps a handful in the sprawl, hiding in the shadows, hoarding their merits, hoping to buy a promotion to something remotely useful, ninja or assassin perhaps. But in the academy proper? No. We have no rogues here. And yet despite everything here she stands. Nala Greyward, Dwarf Rogue. Pettiest of thieves. Unpleasantest of surprises. Causer of problems. So she killed an ogre. So nobody knows how she did it. So what. Throw her in with the real prospects, with the elves and the vampires and the fighters and the magic users. See how she does in that environment--see just how long it is, before the problem that is Nala Greyward solves itself. This is Bright Battle Academy. Good luck. Discord if you're into that.
