《The Kings Heir》Corella knows no boundaries

Tonight's a big night at the palace, Corella is throwing a rather large baby shower for herself and all her friends, and oddly enough I've been invited to this event. I'm not quite sure why besides me carrying her husbands child but besides that she hates me. She even requested Lincoln and Parker the night off, Demitri had a hard time saying yes but she eventually got him to let me go alone. Maybe this could be a chance for us to talk and let bygones be bygones, even if I'm, sleeping with her husband. Corella had a few women come up to my room and dress me for tonight events. I'm already in my gown as I'm getting hair and makeup done. The dress is a deep blue, resembling the sea. Lincoln and Parker sitting on my bed mumbling a few incoherent words with a steady eye on me.
"Could one of you find me a chair, my feet are killing me?" I ask one of the ladies, they all frantically nod there heads and all rush around for a chair, Parker steps out of the room and comes back with a chair in his hands, the ladies all sigh in relief and tend to there activities on my face and head.
"Are you two going to be okay without me around? I know I'm the life of the party." I smile through the full length mirror, watching Lincoln stifle a laugh and Parker roll his eyes.
"I can finally get laid." Parker grumbles. Lincoln and I laugh at the same exact time. Parker just groans even more and falls back on the bed.
"I'm gonna go visit Pearl." Lincoln says.
"You made a human friend?" Parker gasps lifting himself from the bed.
"I did, are you going to kill me for it?" Lincoln replies.
"No but what about the rules? No vampires or humans in contact?"
"She's just a friend Parker." He says dismissively.

"Yeah you say that now." Parker mumbles and doesn't proceed to upset Lincoln.
"Well coming from a human Parker, I think it's quite nice they are spending time together, Pearl is lonely and scared here." Lincoln's eyes hold a glint if sadness but switch when Parker looks at him with a displeased look.
"We are just friends! What don't y'all get?"
"Nothing."
"Just-" I glare at Parker and he stops mid sentence and the rooms falls silent besides the ladies whispering to themselves figuring out what would look best on me.
__________
"Okay boys, how do I look?" I groan standing up from the chair and turning towards them.m bumping into something.
"I think you look quite ravishing." Demitri whispers holding my arms catching me. I smile up at him but pull away.
"I was talking to them." I point the bed but nobody was there. I frown and look back at Demitri.
"I thought I'd let them off early and bring you down myself. Who wouldn't want to see the King himself?" He says smugly, I roll my eyes and walk out of my bedroom. We walk down the stairs slowly, I hold his arm and he helps me down since I can't see the next stair under me.
"I'm going to be okay right?" I ask once we reach the bottom of the stairs.
"Yes of course you would." He reassures.
"I know you find this weird, but I promise you, no matter what, eyes are all around." He whispers before we walk into the ball room, filled with many women talking happily, all holding cups of blood in there hands. I let go of Demitris hand and blend in with the crowd, I turn back looking for Demitri but he's gone. Remember eyes are always on you that sent chills down my back, his voice stuck in my head.
"Jamie! Come let me introduce you." Corella smiles pulling me into a group of girls, they all pause and smell the air. There direction turns towards mine and they all smile calmingly, oddly enough.

"Ladies this is her, she's carrying my baby!" My heart felt a pang of sadness, her claiming the baby and he isn't even here yet. I try to keep my smile on my face but I know myself too well to know my smile faltered.
"Nice to meet y'all." I politely greet. The all hug me too tightly and smell my scent a little to long. I pull away and leave the group when they don't notice and sit down in a chair and take a deep breath feeling out of breath and tired. I press my hand against my head trying to cool myself down and sip the water besides me. I look up and see Corella on the stage and gives me a devious smile.
"Ladies, lets have some fun, I heard pregnant woman blood is delicious, only one way to find out." She smirks in my direction, the women turn towards me their fangs showing and there eyes black, Corella walks up to me first I stand up to get out of the room but she pins me against the wall. Her fang showing and cling to my neck, the searing pain is almost unbearable as she pulls more blood out of me. She lets go of me and lets another girl come up to me. I'm too dizzy to stand, I keep hitting whoever is on me but they don't stop. My eyes are heavy and drowsy. I slowly fall down the wall after the fourth girl hearing crack after crack. I'm dead.
___________
My head is pounding and my throat sore and scratchy. Opening my eyes to the barley lit room, I groan in agonizing pain and cry in pain. I feel my neck and jerk away when my neck is blocked by bandages. I look down and still see my large stomach and protectively wrap my hands around him. I look around and try to focus on the things in the room and realize it's mine.
"Lincoln! Parker!" I cry in pain. But nobody comes, I cry loudly feeling my throat burn. I try to get out of bed but fall into the floor, my legs are too weak to move. I slide to the door and open it looking for anyone.
"Helena." I mumble feeling drowsy and tired again, my energy drained within a few minutes. I feel a tug on my arm and feel myself back on a bed, I close my eyes and cry sadly. What happened to me? Where is everyone? Why was I attacked? Why did she do this to me?
"Jamie you're okay. It's just me relax your in critical condition with the baby right now breathe!" I hear Helena frantically shout from another room. I open my eyes and notice the black crib from Helena's room the other day and realize this is her room. I take a deep breath and wipe my eyes. She comes out of a small looking closet and hands me a small glass bottle, resembling a shot.
"This will help you rest and ease your pain." She says.
"Where's Lincoln and Parker?" I whisper.
"I can't tell you right now."
"Where's Demitri, why isn't he here?" I feel myself getting worked up again and take the small potion.
"He's taking care of everything's that happened."
"You mean taking care of Corella. Why did she do this to me?" I mumble.
"Is it that hard to not be able to tell?"
"What happened to all the women?" She looks at me and shakes her head, that's what the cracks were, necks being snapped. I lay down under the blanket cradling my belly and falling back asleep in a mass of pain slowly subsiding.
