《The Kings Mate》Chapter 12

Malia POV
When I woke up All I heard was beeping. I couldn't hear anything else just the beeping. I closed my eyes and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. I adjust myself to sit up. I look around only to see the bleached white walls and that I had on a paper robe. It was one of those new ones that covered the butt. Thank the high heavens for that. I took a deep breath through my nose and instantly regretted it.
I can smell everything. I can smell the sanitized air of the hospital. I could smell the coffee some one had outside. The pizza some one had one floor above. What is happening. Why is this happening.
The door clicks open and a doctor comes in with a nurse. I look them both up and down and their is nothing exciting about them. Except the doctor looks like he ate of of willy wonka's umpa lunpas.
"Hello Malia it's Nico to see your awake. How are you feeling?" The doctor asks and sits in one of those wheeling chairs that I always got in trouble for sitting in when I was a kid.
"I'm feeling okay. Other than the fact that I think I'm going insane I'm just okay." I tell the doctor and the nurse scribbles it all down on her clipboard.
"Okay well I'm going to leave so your parents can see you. Uh... use this button if anything goes wrong. okay?" The doctor says placing a button on the side table next to the hospital bed.
"Okay." I whisper. He finally leaves the small room. At least I got a single.
"Oh honey!" My mom says rushing in and kneeling by the bed side and grabs my hand.
"Where's dad?" I ask concerned. I look at my mom, her eyes are our red and tears stream down her face.
"He had an emergency call, a uh... restraint caught fire and he got called in. But he was here okay. He should be here. He just wanted me to tell you that he loves you." She tells me and puts a hand on my cheek. I put mine over hers.
"How long was I out?" I ask lower my hand.
"You've been here for 12 hours. So not long." She answers her voice hushed.
"So it's like 5 in the mourning?" I ask and she nods her head.
My head shoots in the direction of the door as a knock can be heard from the other side.
"I'll get that." my mom says getting up and opening the door. She looks back at me with a semi worried face. The she finally nods her and opens the door wider.
"Hey Malia." Mason says and shove his hands in his pockets.
"I'll leave you two alone, i'll go get some coffee." And with that my mom was out side the door shut between us.

"Oh god Malia are you alright? W-what happened?" He says stutter and and rushing to my bedside. He kneels next to me grabbing the bar thing so I don't fall out if the bed.
"Well I was at the mall and we were at this store and when I was checking out all I heard were these voices. The people speaking weren't even in the store. But I heard them clear as day. I couldn't think straight and the voices only got louder and louder. I couldn't take it anymore and threw my hands over my ears but I could still hear it. And that's all I remember. But when I woke up I could just smell everything. And everything isn't a pleasant smell." I admit to him playing with my fingers. He kinda just stares at me wide eyed.
"You probably think I'm crazy." I laugh nervously.
"No, frankly I've heard crazier." he says and laughs. he grabs my hand and intertwined our fingers.
"How long have you been here?" I ask him
"12 hours." he says and looks at the door like he's embarrassed.
"You waited 12 hours just for me?" I ask him and he nods his head.
"I...uh... I asked the doctor when you could leave and they said you would need a check up and if everything's alright then you could go home." He tells me sporting a smile.
"That's great. You know I may have been awake for like 15 minutes but I already hate this place." I tell him and he gives me a laugh and I laugh with him.
Theirs another knock on the door and this time it's the doctor.
"Uh Mason Malia needs her sleep so I think you should go home and get some rest." The doctor says and I give him a questioned look.
"What about school?"
"It's canceled today because they need to get the gym ready for homecoming on Friday." He explains to me.
"Come on Mason now. I'm sure Beth doesn't like it that she hasn't seen you in over 12 hours." The doctor says and ushers Mason away suddenly I realize that sleeping so long is exhausting.
Soon the rooms completely quiet and my eyes finally droop all the way close. Sending me into a land of the unknown. I just like to call it dream land though.
*
I sit on this patch of land with the water all around it. Watching at the butterfly's fly by. Soon their are just hundreds and thousands all swirling together like a swarm of bats would at the nights peak. Soon they burst away from each other leaving a young woman with amazing blond hair and beautiful tan, clear skin. Her flowery dress compliments her perfectly it's breath taking.
"Who are you?" I ask her standing up and before i think i take a step. But i don't fall into the water surprisingly. A bunch of lily pads rush to my aid keeping my dry. I look down and notice that I Had a plain white version of her dress. I look back at her with a shocked expression.

"The bigger question is who are you. What is happening. What is your meaning?" She says making fists and bringing them together by her chest and then opening them and a gold sparkle falls down.
"How did you?" I ask and point and her.
"I'm here to tell you that you are not normal, that you will learn what is happening soon." She says calmly making me a little calmer.
"why can't you tell me?" I ask and fur my eyebrows together.
"Because you are not done learning what you can do. It is not ,y job to explain you. You will find out soon enough." She smiles at me. And like she came the butterflies swarm around he rising up to the sun and then explode going all different directions. She leaves nothing but a gold glitter falling into the water.
***
Mason POV
After i left the hospital and got into my car i sat and thought. Why is Malia's senses becoming... greater, more powerful. She could be involved some way with the supernatural but how? Her mom and dad are humans, she's a human. Even if she's part of the supernatural i would have sensed. If she was a vampire or a witch or heck a lizard thing they showed on teen wolf i would have sensed it. But their is nothing. I don't understand what is happening, or why it's happening.
I shake my head at the thought and pull out of the parking lot. I watch as the sun rises over the hills and turn into a small burger place that is always open. I Grab my wallet and phone out of the cup holder in the door and swing my door open. I put the keys on one of the belt loops on my pants and slam the door shut. I pull my leather jacket tighter around my body as the cold September morning. Normally it doesn't get cold until October but this year's different. The morning's always seem to be cold. The wood floors in the pack house don't help either. I think their is only carpet in the game room. Their is no escaping the cold wood floors.
I push open the door to the small establishment and the smell of roasting ham and bacon fill my nose. Ah breakfast here is the best. They serve these wraps with bacon, egg, cheese, and ham and oh my gods is it good. It's like the Zeus of wraps. But nothing can beat their blue berry waffles. Did I mention that they are blue. Like the whole waffle is blue. Blue foods are the best because their is nothing natural about them. They're most definitely the best thing I have ever consumed.
"Hey Mason, what can i get you this morning?" The restaurant owner, Benny, asks. He is also Cameron's dad. He might just be the funniest man i have ever met. He's tan but his wife is like a coco color I guess. That making Cameron's skin is tan but just a darker color tan. If that even makes sense.
"Can I get a Bacon wrap, with a waffle, and a Coffee. black." Like my soul. Just kidding I take a seat on the bar stool and Mr. Angelo cooks away on stove.
"Help yourself to the coffee you know where everything is." He says throwing aslice of cheese onto the eggs because he knows that how I like em. I hop over the bar and pour myself a cup of coffee. I take a sip of and and instantly feel more awake.
I set the mug down and go around the counter and return to my seat.
"So Mr. Angelo hows the wife?" I ask him and slurp more of the coffee.
"One: Dont call me Mr. Angelo because i will throw you into the ocean. Two: Mariana is good. We actually found out that she's gonna have another baby." He tells me and sets my wrap down in front of me and goes to start the waffle.
"That's great! Does Cam know?" I ask and dig into the wrap.
"Uh, yeah we told her last night. She was ecstatic." He chuckles and turns the waffle maker over.
You see Benny and his wife are young maybe in their early thirties. They had Cameron when they were really young maybe 15 or 16. How they knew they were mates in beyond me but they did. Even though people said they threw their life away when they had their baby they didn't care they were in love. At least that's what my dad told me. He also told me that Parker's dad, Ryan, who is the beta now is Benny's brother. So yes Cameron and Parker are cousins.
"Well I'm happy for you. Congratulations." I smile at him and finish my wrap. A little while later he plops the waffle down in front of me and i thank him. By this time their was a small family inside who must be passing threw town because they are inf act humans. Or should i say non wolves. Since like I said we are as much human they are, just with a minor defect.
I soon finish the waffle and throw $15 dollars on the table with a $10 dollar tip. I bid my good bye and head back outside and get into my car. I look at the time 7:18. The flower shop doesn't open for another 2 hours. I hit my head against the head rest and harshly put the keys in the ignition and pull out of the parking lot and head home. I need some sleep. And I need it now.
