《The Kings IV II》7

I chuckled, reaching for my glass of water. "They're handfuls, all of 'em."

"Absolutely," Amir Kattan chuckled, shaking his head, "you know, I never had kids of my own, but I just know."

"They were the best thing that ever happened to me," I said, smiling as I took a drink of water.

I turned around in my chair when I heard a knock on my door, knitting my eyebrows together at Josie standing behind the glass.

I stood up, opening my door. "Hi, sweetheart."

"Hey," she greeted, stepping inside with a smile.

I lifted my eyebrows and watched as she walked over to my desk, placing a bag on it. "There you go."

I smiled a confused smile. "Thank you?"

"This must be one of them," Amir said, smiling at her.

"Yes," I said, "this is-"

"Josephine," she greeted, holding out a hand, "and you are?"

"Amir Kattan," he greeted, shaking her hand.

"Right," she said, smiling a charming smile, "I've actually researched your family's corporation."

He tilted his head over, smiling.

"I couldn't use my dad for school, so I chose you," she said, giggling as she looked up at me.

"Well, I'm flattered," he said.

She bit down on her lip and twirled her hair around her finger. I cleared my throat and pressed a kiss to her temple. "Thank you for lunch."

She snapped out of whatever scenario she'd put herself into, looking up at me. "You're welcome."

"Give us a second, Amir," I said, making him nod.

"It was nice meeting you, sir," Josie said, shooting him a smile over her shoulder.

I grabbed her shoulder and led her out of my office, folding my arms over my chest.

"Nice guy," she said, smiling up at me.

"Mm hmm," I muttered.

She sat on my assistant's desk, looking down at the mess. "What do you make her do?"

"Her job," I said.

"I miss Cecilia."

I smiled. "Yeah. You need to get back to school."

She folded her arms over her chest. "I have a really good excuse-"

"No-"

"Listen," she said, "I could say I was spending the day interning at my dad's place."

"Very funny," I said, "no."

"So you don't want me here?"

"Of course I want you here," I said, "but you have school."

"Amir might argue with you," she said, grinning as she swung her legs off of the desk.

"Go to school," I adamantly said, making her lift an eyebrow.

"Now."

She rolled her eyes and stood up. "Okay. Love you, enjoy your lunch."

"Hey," I said, stopping her before she went to the elevator.

"Hmm?" She asked, turning around to face me.

"Have you heard from your mom today?"

She knitted her eyebrows together. "What?"

I closed my eyes, resting my hands on my hips. "H-have you talked to her?"

"Yeah," she said, "you haven't?"

I cleared my throat and smiled, nodding towards the elevator. "Have a good rest of your day."

I chewed on my pen, my eyes fixated on my teacher.

Not much could hold my attention, but Mrs. Thompson most certainly could.

I trailed my eyes down her body- her flowy dress, her curls falling down her back, and her glasses sitting on her nose.

"Hero?"

I lifted an eyebrow, smiling.

"Are you even present?" She asked, smiling down at me.

"Absolutely," I said, sitting upright.

She turned off the lights and sat on the edge of my table, nodding towards the board. "Here's a video I found to be extremely entertaining."

She looked back at me, leaning down. "Do you mind?"

I leaned closer to her, my eyes fixated on hers. "Not at all."

She patted my shoulder and turned back around, making me lean back in my seat with a smile. I turned around when I felt a tap on my neck, seeing Henry's hand in the air.

I grinned and winked, making him shake his head and roll his eyes. He wrapped his arm around Cordelia, making me fold my arms on my desk and rest my chin on my forearm.

Don't look to your right.

I quickly averted my eyes to her backside, grinning as I looked back at the board. She stood up and I knitted my brows together, looking up at her.

"Why'd you go?" I asked, smiling up at her.

She placed her finger over her lips, turning on the lights. "How fun was that?"

The room was silent, making her sigh and tilt her head over. "Guys. Come on. I tried to make chemistry fun."

"Hero thought it was really interesting," Henry said.

I turned around, my eyes wide.

"Give us a briefer, Hero," Mrs. Thompson said, folding her arms over her chest.

I chuckled, rubbing the back of my neck.

"I get nervous in front of big groups of people," I said, earning a laugh from the entire class.

"I find that hard to believe, considering you play every sport," she said, lifting an eyebrow as she grabbed the stack of papers from her desk.

"Maybe it's just you that makes me nervous, Mrs. Thompson," I said, shooting her a smile as she threw a packet on my desk.

"Hmm," she muttered, letting out a quiet giggle as she made her way down the row of tables, "here's your homework. I expect to see this completely finished on Friday."

I flipped through it, lifting an eyebrow. She stood at the front of the classroom, smiling at us. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. Please get this done, I'm serious."

She sat down at her desk, making me shoot up from my seat. I walked over to her, making her look up at me.

"I don't understand the first question," I said, smiling down at her.

"This seems to be a recurring theme with you," she said, resting her chin in her palm.

I squatted down next to her, placing my packet on her desk. "Teach me your ways."

"We'll be discussing it in class," she said, looking over at me.

"I wanted some one-on-one time," I said, chewing on my bottom lip.

She looked at me, grabbing her pencil. "See this?"

"Mm hmm," I said, gradually getting closer to her. She was explaining my question, but I could not have been bothered to listen.

"See how I did that?" She asked.

"Mm hmm," I said, my eyes fixated on her legs.

"There," she said, placing my packet in front of me, "now you get to answer it."

In all reality, I'd had no question about this particular problem. I knew exactly how to do it. I answered the question in less than a second, grinning over at her.

"Perfect," she said, "if I didn't know any better, I'd say you didn't even need the help."

"Ah, no," I said, "you're just such a great teacher."

She smiled over at me, keeping her eyes locked on mine for a few seconds.

I shot her a wink and stood up, looking down at her. "Thank you for the help, Mrs. Thompson."

She nodded, keeping her eyes locked on me. I grabbed my packet and bit down on my lip, walking back to my desk. I shot Henry a grin, making him roll his eyes.

The bell rang, making me grab my bag and throw it over my shoulder. Henry made his way to me, chuckling. "You're a piece of shit."

We walked towards the door together, making me shoot Mrs. Thompson one last glance. "Have a good rest of your day."

"You, too, Hero," she said, smiling at me.

"She's so fucking hot," I muttered, looking over at Henry, "I mean, the school knew when they hired her. They knew she'd distract guys. She's young and beautiful."

"They knew she'd distract pieces of shit," he said, lifting an eyebrow.

"Come on," I said, "she should be your hall pass."

"His what?" Cordelia asked, "and who?"

"Nobody," he said, "Hero is lusting over Mrs. Thompson."

"She's married, Hero."

"Probably unhappily," I said, "I can spice that shit up-"

"You're seventeen," Henry butted in, "not the time to make a teacher catch a case."

"Is it ever?" Cordelia asked, looking up at him.

"No," he said, "just saying, though."

I shrugged, pulling out a pack of skittles from my bag. "She just seems like she could use some good-"

"Stop," Henry said, placing his hands over Cordelia's ears.

Francesca smiled and approached me. "Hey."

"Hi," I greeted, smiling as I wrapped an arm around her neck, "want a skittle?"

"No, thanks," she said, "are we leaving soon? Or do you have practice?"

"No practice today," I said, my lips curling up into a smile at the sight of Mrs. Thompson standing in the hallway.

She waved at me, making me let go of Francesca. I smiled and approached her, tilting my head over. "Can't get enough of me?"

She held out my pencil. "You left this. And I know you need it, because you lose pencils every day."

I placed it between my teeth, holding out my skittles to her. "I have enough to share."

She laughed, shaking her head. "I need your metabolism, kiddo. You're always eating."

"I'm not a kiddo, just so you know," I said, smiling down at her.

"You are to me," she said, looking up at me.

"Says the woman looking straight up at me," I said, chuckling.

"Well, I'm old," she said, "you're youthful."

"You're twenty-three," I said, "some of these old teachers around here hate you for it, too."

She giggled, placing a hand on my arm. "You need to go home."

"I can't stay with you?" I asked, biting down on my lip.

"Nope," she said, nodding towards Fran.

Francesca smiled and nodded towards the doors. "We need to leave."

"Is that your sister?" She asked.

"Yep," I said, "saving myself for you just in case-"

She cut me off with a laugh, shaking her head. "Go home, Hero."

"Don't miss me too much!" I yelled, running towards the doors.

"Stop running!" She yelled.

I slowed down, winking at her. "Whatever you say."

"The kids aren't home yet," I said, biting down on my bottom lip with a smile.

Lena tilted her head over, smiling down at me. "Really? I would've never known if you wouldn't have told me-"

She giggled as I pulled her into my lap, resting her hands on my shoulders. "They'll be home soon."

"And I can be done soon."

"I don't doubt it."

"That was really offensive," I muttered, diving down to her neck.

She laughed. "I'm kidding."

I pushed her legs apart, stroking her inner thigh. She laughed and leaned her head back, shaking her head. "It's never going to work."

"Shh," I whispered, but jumped when the door flew open.

I shook my head, hearing Hero's chuckle. "You thought."

"Hi," Francesca greeted, smiling.

"Hi," Lena said, standing up, "how were your days?"

"Great," Hero said, "yours?"

Lena's eyebrow lifted, she rested a hand on her hip. "Oh? That's unusual."

He braced his elbows on the counter, smiling at me.

"Did you, you know?" I asked, walking into the kitchen.

"Have sex? No."

Lena looked up at me, a look of distress on her face.

"I can't get involved with a teacher, right?"

"No," I adamantly, and quickly, stated.

He held up his hands. "Woah."

"No," I said, shaking my head, "yeah, no."

"There was a yeah in there-"

"No."

"No," he mocked, "I got it, Dad. Damn."

He wrapped his arm around Lena's neck, pressing a kiss to her head. "I'm going to work out."

"This is the one day you don't have practice," she said, looking up at him, "don't you want a break?"

"Trust me, I need to work out," he said, nodding down at her with a smile.

I rolled my eyes and looked over at Fran, who was busy cleaning her glasses. I couldn't have gotten two kids that were more different- the two were on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. Hero was wild and loud, while Fran was meek and quiet.

"And how was your day?" I asked, standing next to her.

She looked up at me, squinting. "Good."

I chuckled, pressing a kiss to her temple.

"I'm going to work on homework," she said, smiling up at me.

"Okay, sweetheart," I said, smiling. Hero jogged downstairs, nothing but a pair of shorts on.

"Care to put on some underwear?" I deadpanned, earning a grin from him.

"Best compliment I've gotten, considering I've got underwear on."

"You piece of shit," I chuckled, pushing him towards the staircase into the basement.

He laughed, placing his headphones over his ears. "If anyone needs me, don't."

He disappeared downstairs and I looked to Lena, lifting an eyebrow.

She giggled a quiet giggle. "Don't think about it."

"She's in her room, he's downstairs," I said, "we can go in my office."

She tilted her head over, her eyes round.

"I'm convincing you, aren't I?" I chuckled, pulling her body into mine.

"What if they hear?" She sighed, flattening her palms against my abdomen.

"I guess you'll just have to be quiet," I muttered, trailing my hands down her sides.

I picked her up, making her wind her legs around my hips.

"He shoots, he scores!" I yelled, running into my office as she giggled.
