《501st go on holiday (Rex x reader abit)》Time to go

Day 7
Everyone had woken up early. They didn't have to leave until later but they couldn't help it. They were all genuinely sad they had to go. A holiday had given them a taste of what a life after the war would be like, even Dogma didn't want to leave. Rex was by far the most unenthusiastic knowing he would have loads of reports to get back to, and he couldn't be with his general every ten seconds...
Fives however wasn't even awake yet. He had been cuddling echo in his sleep the entire night muttering "my lekku girl" constantly and moaning. Echo wasn't thrilled in any way shape or form.
"I'm not your kriffing girlfriend!" he flustered trying to push him off.
"ooooo echo has a boyfriend!" Hardcase cooed having the time of his life.
"shut up! I don't want to date him this is so embarrassing- STOP KRIFFING FILMING IT!"
Nobody could help laughing. The poor bookworm started kicking Fives in the shins trying his hardest to free himself from this torture.
Eventually, fives woke up.
"baby?"
"I AM NOT YOUR BABY!"
Fives looked up at Echo and jumped off the bed screaming.
"NEVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN!"
"YOU STARTED IT!"
"JUST PACK YOUR THINGS!" (y/n) shouted out, "we still have to figure out how the hell we are going to get this tape off the vents without getting stung!"
About an hour later all belongings were out at the other end of the patio outside. Tup and Kix had been unanimously elected for the tape removal and all doors leading to the exit were wide open in preparation. (y/n) was abit annoyed that she couldn't do it but Rex refused, not wanting anymore ankles injured.
"Steady, steady... RUN!" The two clones ripped the tape off and booked it out of the flat.

They slammed the front door behind them to hear several tiny smacks as the wasps flew into the window.
Everyone just watched the suicidal wasps stunned.
"General, I think you had a good idea to tape the vents." Hardcase stood open mouthed.
"Agreed." she replied, quite lost for words.
"well I'm not waiting for when they find a new exit," Jesse picked up his bag, backing away, "can we leave?"
They swiftly vacated the area with no issues.
In less than ten minutes there was an issue.
"Where is fives?"
Everyone looked to Echo scared.
"don't tell me he's still-"
"No he definitely came out with us. But I don't know where he's gone."
Rex sighed temped to walk back into the flat and end his suffering, "call him."
"He wont answer"
"message him"
---
Where the hell are you?!
Why?
BECAUSE YOU JUST WENT MISSING THAT'S WHY!
Keep your hair on I'll see you in the spaceport.
Where are you?!
Living the dream 😍😍😍😍
You're a di'kut
---
"so where is he?"
"don't ask."
-a few hours later-
The original adrenaline rush for everyone that morning had worn off. Most of the clones waiting had fallen asleep or gotten some coffee. As a result no clone had signed in so poor Rex did the selfless procedure of letting them all sleep and signing in over 200 clones one by one single handedly. (y/n) was doing different work on her data pad but kept getting sidetracked by how cute he was being; not one complaint, just quietly going around every clone and making sure they were all there taking extra care not to wake any of them up. •Then he wonders why he gets so many fathers day cards. He's such a great captain•

Fives turned up last, walking through the door with Shaak Ti. They quickly separated but Rex noticed. He walked up to the blushing arc.
"Fives."
Fives let out a shriek and jumped away smacking his head up the automatic doors.
"Ow." he groaned like a little child, Rex couldn't help but giggle.
"Come on fives stand to attention." he grinned.
"Yes sir!" he squeaked standing up straight.
"So, where were ya?"
"Um, me? Oh... um... I was, outside. Looking at some... Flowers and-"
"going to give them to ya girlfriend?"
Fives went redder.
"Don't worry," Rex smirked, "I never saw anything."
"Thank you so much Captain."
"No thanks needed, now get over there."
Rex fell asleep on the plane almost instantly as it took off. Without realizing he had nodded off cuddling into (y/n)'s shoulder. None of the 501st took a blind bit of notice, it wasn't a mind blowing fact Rex had a crush. Fives and denal decided to play badminton across the cabin while Jesse was complaining about the "scissors" that had been sunburned onto him.
Hardcase decided to be extra and set up a ten pin bowling alley. They were really making the most out if the last couple of hours they were going to get. (y/n) couldn't help but smile at the scene. For clones who had only known battle their whole life they still knew how to have fun, it was sad having to watch them go back to being serious soldiers.
Eventually the ride came to an end and everyone had to get off. The mood changed dramatically. Although they were sad they knew they were lucky. Most clones would never get this opportunity. And for the vast majority they knew this holiday would be their last.

Adagio of the Enlightened
The Elders will tell you the stories and lore. Of our ancestors, their deeds, and of the foes of yore. They will praise to you the chariot, and how it flew to the stars. How it stole the sun's light and slew the night’s roar. The Shamans will tell you the tales of their wisdom. Their wars on schism, and the unlettered world of ours before. Perhaps they will sing you the songs of what our clans' ancient customs tore. Poems of how our ancestors took what the discs had offered them, the manna and the mundane, and made it more. The kings will tell you of the follies, the sins, and the anecdotes of all our ancestors' wrongs. They will curse to you their names, the Ender of Fate and the Ruined Song. How they had dug up the hearts of the discs, euchred its relics, and blasphemed its prophecies, with oracles withdrawn. But they will only tell you the legends, recount the myths, and sing the allegories washed ashore. The Elders, the Shamans, and the kings can only retell what the storytellers of their own time had voiced. What they have read in books or heard in the minstrels' songs they adore. They don't know what really happened. They were never there. They can't tell you how our ancestors slew the angels from the sky, and sent them back to where they belonged. How they poisoned our minds, and made our people slothful and feeble, with the reforms they had undergone. But I can.I can tell you how the Ender of Fate severed destiny's strings, weakened them, and weaved them to our feeble flesh and souls.I can tell you how the Ruined song razed the heavens with her blood-stained melody, and reshaped our hell into utopia, with the deaths she deplored.Because I was there. I can tell you the truth, with my virtue strong. ----> Disclaimer: This will be a slow-burn, character-driven, non-harem, slice-of-life web novel with cultivation and kingdom-building elements. Flashback: Siren Song
The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series. Its already free on Amazon, so I thought I'd post chapters here for the good folks of Royal Road.
