"Rise and shine sleeping beauty!" Mel shouted in my ear. I just covered my head and tried to go back to sleep.
"No. Go away!" I groaned. She laughed and yanked the blankets off me.
"Nope! Sorry Sar, but its already late." She said.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Its almost eleven." She answered.
"Are you kidding me? Thats not late! I've only had five hours of sleep." I said.
"Well.....you have to learn to get up early anyways." She told me.
"Stop being a smart aleck." I groaned, sitting up. I scratched my head and looked around. "Is my dad here?" I asked.
"Went to get us food." Mel answered.
"We have food here though." I said, walking toward my closet. She shrugged and went toward my closet too.
"I'm so glad we wear the same size." She giggled.
"I swear if you don't give me back those jeans....I will murder you." I said. She laughed and nodded. I got dressed and walked downstairs.
"Honey, I'm home!" My dad yelled, walking through the door. He seen me and smiled. "Look Mel! The dead has risen!" He said. I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"What food you get me?" I asked.
"Your favorite.....Italian!" He said.
"Italian for breakfast?" I asked.
"Its lunch." He smiled.
I rolled my eyes again and walked to the kitchen. "Want to help?" He asked.
"No dip!" I laughed. We got the food done and I ate up. "Dad?" I asked. He looked at me and waited for me to finish. "How can I start my story with where you guys left off?" I asked. He looked amused.

"Well, I don't even know what your story is about. All I know is that you are going to be acting in it." He exclaimed. I sighed.
"Okay, here's the rundown. I am going to be Amy Adams. She's a lonely thirteen year old living with her drunken mother. She doesn't know her dad. But she has the power to talk to people in their heads. She doesn't know it though. But she talks to a guy named Castiel but she thinks its her imagination because she reads the Supernatural books. Well Crowley kills her mom and has men kidnap her. Cas tries to get Dean to help her. He has a secret though. Amy is Deans daughter. Dean doesn't know and Amy doesn't know. So, after a while Dean figures it out. Okay, I'm done with this. You can figure out the rest later. I'm tired of explaining it."
My dad smiled. "You're a good writer." He said.
"You're just saying that because you have to." I scoffed.
"He doesn't have to. He could say you suck!" Mel pointed out. I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"Whatever." I said.
"Well.....nobody has to know about me being a demon. I could keep it a secret." My dad shrugged.
"Dad. That's.....the smartest idea you've ever had!" I said after a moment of thought. He laughed.
"Of course it is. I thought it up." I smiled and nodded.
"Sure it is dad." I said.
A few hours later, Mel went home and I decided to start the script. Then later I could ask Eric what he thought.
, Joy,
Amy sighs and puts the book down.
Joy looks directly at her and points.
Amy looks down and nods.

Joy nods and walks away.
Amy turns off bedside lamp and looks at the ceiling.
Amy falls asleep.
Open back up on Amy sleeping.
Amy jumps awake and falls out of bed.
Cuts to 'Supernatural'.
I was writing pretty easily and was in the zone when my dad came up. "How's it coming?" He asked. I was so into the script that he scared the crud out of me.
"Oh geez, dad. You scared me." I said.
He smiled and looked over my shoulder. "Its good." He said. I smiled.
"You aren't in it yet." I said. He laughed and nodded.
"I'm aware." He said. After a moment of silence and me thinking about how to start the next scene my dad grabbed my hand. "Why don't you and I go to to see a movie?" He said.
"I have to do this." I said, shaking my head.
"You can take a break." He said.
I nodded and stood up. "What movie?" I asked.
"I was thinking about letting you see that new Poltergeist movie." He said.
"Really?" I asked, excited. My dad nodded and I jumped up. "Yes!" I cheered.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

So it turns out I'm tiny in another world…
After meeting with a horrible fate on an otherwise typical Martian day, Tsukino Sachiko finds herself stranded with only a surprisingly unremarkable alien for company. Join her as she battles giant monsters, strange locals, and feelings of insignificance in the hopes she might one day return to a world that makes sense. AN: This story is an attempt to overcome insecurity regarding the quality of my writing by practicing with intentional schlock. "Just write," as the advice goes. While it may not be masterfully plotted, the subject matter is one close to my heart and one that I endeavor to explore in a new light. After all, who ever heard of the fairy sidekick being an isekai protagonist? Cover image © Vanish under the terms of the CC BY-ND 2.0 license.
