《Affair with a married man》Chapter 19

I woke up with a stretch. Today will be a good day. I start my internship today. I get to spend all day with Ben, then I get to come home and tell Chelsea all about it and watch movies. I rolled over so I was on my side and looked at the beautiful scene outside my window. The sun was streaming in. Today will be a good day. I said to myself again.
Chelsea burst through my bedroom door scaring me. She giggled at my reaction and then came over and flopped down on my bed and wrapped her arms around me causing me to laugh. After a few seconds I lay my head down on her shoulder. "You get to start your internship with Dr. Hottie today." She said. I smiled. "Yeah I do." I answered. "And you get to wear scrubs, and scrubs make your ass look good." She added. I giggled. "Well I wont argue with you there." I replied. "You have to get up and get ready. Have to be there in an hour." She said looking over at the clock on my beside table. I sighed. "But my bed is so comfy!" I objected. "Do you want to go see Ben and get to hang out with him all day and if it ends like last week you'll end up having sex in his office." She whispered. I smirked and sat up in bed. Thankfully I didn't have to shower. "I got out of bed and went over to my closet and grabbed out my pink scrubs. I slipped them on and went in the bathroom to brush my teeth and do my makeup.
30 minutes later I walked out into the kitchen where Chels was waiting with a coffee thermos. I gratefully took it. I grabbed my purse and my phone and checked my phone. I had a text from Ben saying he was outside. "Bye Chels! I love you!" I hollered heading out the door. "Have fun with Dr. Hottie! Love you!" She hollered coming to the door. She stood in the doorway and threw her hand up at Ben who was leaning against his truck red faced; clearly embarrassed hearing Chelsea call him Dr. Hottie. I giggled at the look on his face. He grabbed my hand and started around the truck. "Bye Chelsea!" He hollered at her. I smirked and walked around the side of the truck. Ben opened the truck door for me and held my coffee while I pulled myself up in the truck; once I was in he handed me my cup back and shut my door. I put on my seat belt and started playing with the radio. I stopped it on a rock station. He got in and backed out of Chelsea's driveway and headed towards his office.

We pulled up about 5 minutes later and I hopped out. I followed him into his office. He stopped at the nurses desk's to look at the schedule for today. "Nice ass." I whispered walking past him brushing my body against his. He took in a sharp intake of breath causing me to smirk. I stood beside him at the desks. "What are we doing today?" I asked looking over his shoulder. "You, if you don't behave." He mumbled so only I could hear. I laughed. He smirked at that. "We have 10 appointments today. Of the ones that gave us details over the phone we have: 1 kid with Chicken pox, 3 kids with a sore throat, and 4 kids with vomiting. I have no idea whats wrong with the other 2, and we will probably have walk-ins, but I usually let Dr. Haylee handle them." He said. I nodded my head. Great. Dr. Haylee will be in. I rolled my eyes. She was so annoying and loud. And she flirts with Ben a lot...which I know sounds terrible for me, the mistress, to be upset for someone else flirting with a married man. He saw the look on my face.
"What's the look for?" He asked turning to look at me. I just shook my head. He gave me that look; the look that told me he knew I was lying. He opened his mouth to say something but Haylee's voice cut him off. "Good Morning Dr. Ben!...Jayla." She said coming over to us. He turned back around. "Morning Dr. Haylee!" He greeted. I just smiled at her and looked down at the chart of our first patient. She eventually walked away reading the chart of her first patient and heading to her office. Ben turned to look back at me telling me our conversation wasn't over. "What's the matter?" He asked. "Nothing." I answered with a forced smile. "I know. She's loud an peppy." He said with understanding. "...and waiting for her perfect moment to get in your pants." I mumbled.

He shook his head with a smirk. "No she doesn't." He answered. I cocked my eyebrow at him. "Okay whatever you say." I said not believing him. "Someone sounds jealous." He said and looked around to make sure no one was around before kissing my temple. I smirked and looked back down at the kids chart. "We have a patient to see Doctor." I said glancing down at my watch. He gave a slight nod and headed towards one of the patient rooms and gave a quiet knock before opening the door. I followed him in with the chart. This was the kid with Chicken pox. Ben unwrapped his stethoscope from around his neck and went over to listen to the child's heartbeat and breath sounds. The appointment went by fairly quickly, he prescribed the child some cream and some meds to help with the itching. The day was going by pretty smoothly. Dr. Haylee ate lunch with us...oh the joy. We spent the afternoon with Dr. Haylee going over charts. She kept trying to flirt with Ben the whole time, it was getting quite annoying. She finally went home and I found myself sitting in Ben's office. He sat in his desk chair and I sat in the chair in front of it. "You seriously don't see it." I said as he was sitting there staring at me. "See what?" He asked pretending not to know what I was talking about. I rolled my eyes and have him a look. "You know what. The fact that Haylee takes every opportunity she can to throw herself at you." He shook his head. "No. I mean yeah I do because she makes it pretty obvious, but I don't pay any attention to her because I'm too distracted by that hot young intern running around here." He said with a smirk getting up and coming towards me.
"Be serious!" I groaned. "You know what I mean. She was working here long before I started my internship here. And she didn't just start throwing herself at you today." I said crossing my arms. He sat down on the edge of his desk in front of me. "Babe. She's been throwing herself at me for years. I don't pay attention to it. I don't care. I don't notice her because I'm too busy noticing you." He said cupping my cheek. He planted a soft kiss on my lips. "I love you." He said. I smirked. "You better be thankful I love you too." He chuckled. "Thankful everyday." He said with a cheeky grin. I rolled my eyes and stood up. He stood up too. I linked my hand with his. "Can we go home yet?" I asked like a child. He laughed. "Yeah let's go." He said and grabbed his bag. I dropped his hand and threw my purse up on my shoulder and opened his office door. "Wanna grab something to eat on the way home?" He asked walking out of his office. "Sure. I'm starving." I said walking out behind him. We said goodbye to the nurses finishing up their paper work. We headed out to his truck and started over to my favorite restaurant.

Living a Long Life as a Legend
Reincarnating into a game-like version of a medieval magical world was fine and all. A good blend of two enjoyable tropes. Lock wished he'd been born with a bunch of cheats sometimes, sure, but he could settle with being functionally immortal by abusing the system as well. Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
