feat. the thirdwheel pillow and your traumatised rj plushies ;-;
“have a safe trip, you lot.”
you smiled as the guys frowned, “manager... we're sorry...” you raised a brow with a chortle, “whatever do you mean? you guys are just leaving for two days, stop overreacting.” you patted their backs (a bit hardly tho ;-;).
“b– but we feel bad about leaving you with him...” sakanoue said with worry etched in his face. “yeah, it worries me too, manager.” nosaka spoke up as you let out a chortle, yet once again, “oh, please. if anything, worry for yourselves. i don't even know how you guys will survive for two days without someone who'll basically tend to you. also, stop being so melodramatic, it's not as if you guys won't come back.”
“but still, would you like for me to back out and stay with you? fudou (san) could be quite a handful for you alone.” nosaka asked as you rolled your eyes, “you're saying that as if i literally don't take care of nineteen more kids that are as handful as that idiot.” nosaka only sighed and gave in.
“but, manager–”
you immediately smiled at the stubborn boys, “oh my, i suddenly remember, my iron maiden has just been cleaned yesterday and it looks like it's already begging me to feed it. does anyone wannna volunteer on being my iron maiden's feast?”
the boys shut their mouth and avoided your gaze. “i thought so.” they heaved a breath of relief as you internally giggled.
“anyways, make sure to bring home food from the buffet there, got it? if you can't, then just make sure to savour the food twice for me.” you immediately gave the guys a sly grin and patted their backs (not so gently), “now, off you all go.”
you immediately went back to the dorm (really, it's a mansion) and shut the door before anyone could say anything. you were about to head straight to your room when you heard a deep voice,

“are you sure you won't say goodbye?”
you let out an amused grin, “.. my offer about being the iron maiden's feast is still up. akio, perhaps, you're somehow interested?” you slightly turned your head to look at fudou.
“hah... but seriously though, what's with you guys being so dramatic these days?”
fudou only shrugged, “well, usually, you'd always nag about not leaving important things while on travel, not to get lost or separated from the group, be on our best behaviours, and come back home in one piece.”
you only giggled, “they already know it. i've been saying the same word, same sentence in the same tone every time you guys leave. it's engraved on their minds as it's engraved in yours, i'm sure.” fudou only snickered.
“and besides, i slightly don't feel well at all.” you said as fudou only blinked before moving beside you, taking your arm and dragging you to your room.
“sleep.”
“... yes, mommy.”
—
“ngh...”
you breathed heavily as you woke up feeling hot.
you tried to sit up when a hand gently grabbed a hold of your shoulders and helped you. “don't try to push yourself, idiot.” a (grumpy) voice spoke up from beside your bed.
“akio..?”
you received a grunt from the male, “i brought you porridge.”
you tried to get a better grip but ended up accidentally letting go of the bowl. fortunately, fudou was fast and caught it without too much hassle.
“.. sorry...” you frowned, staring at fudou's pretty eyes with your teary ones. “seems like you're still too weak to have a strong grip...” fudou mumbled as he sighed and dragged his chair close to your bed.
he grabbed a spoonful, blowing on it before feeding it to you. “... did you make this?” you asked (which came out as a whisper) as fudou nodded, “i did. does it taste good?” you smiled and nodded, “it does.”

after eating, fudou left to place the dishes downstairs, coming back after a few minutes.
“here, medicine.”
you expected him to give you a tablet, since the medicine downstairs are tablets* (u guys ran out of capsules ;-;). but in his hand was a capsule. you could only stare at him, dumbfounded.
“what?”
fudou wished, he really prayed, that you wouldn't notice, but you did. curse you and your sharp mind.
“why–” you were interrupted when you suddenly bursted into a coughing fit.
fudou immediately sprung into action and handed you a warm glass of water. after downing the glass, fudou took it back and placed it on top of your bedside table.
“... you don't like tablets because it's too bitter for you, so i bought capsules on my way back earlier.” fudou explained whiel scratching his nape, avoiding your gaze completely.
you only smiled at him and whispered your gratitude in a hoarse voice. fudou shook his head and immediately instructed you to drink your medicine.
“you'll start to feel better now.” fudou said as you tried to let out a chuckle (which came out as a breathy “hah” ;-;), “it doesn't work like that, dumb*ss.” fudou only rolled his eyes, gently pushing you down on your bed and patting down your duvet, placing two rj plushies on either side of you.
“i feel terrible, this sucks...” you croaked out, pushing your covers closer to you.
“i can see that.” fudou commented, looking down at your (rare) vulnerable state; your eyes were teary, your nose was red, and your lips looked swollen (this happens to me idk why ;-;). you were panting heavily in your sweaty state and you were hot, literally.
“i feel too hot and too cold at the same time. i don't like being sick...” you continued to complain as fudou sighed and sat on your bed, brushing your bangs back and replacing the towel on your forehead with a cooler one.
“just rest, it'll go away when you wake up.” fudou tried to convince you, to which you only giggled, “this airhead, it doesn't work that way...” and then you felt your consciousness leaving you, slowly... slowly... slowly...
what didn't though was the hand that continued to run its fingers through your tresses.
—
you woke up slightly feeling better.
no, you were actually better (lot of thanks to your blood line tho ;-;).
you looked out the window and noticed the sun setting. your gaze fell into your hand when you (finally) noticed a weight upon it.
it was another hand, larger than yours and more masculine, cupping your smaller ones tightly.
you let out a chuckle to see your nurse sleeping with his head resting on top of his arm (which was on your bed beside you). fudou was slouched over to your bed from his chair and you were sure he was gonna get a stiff neck sleeping in that position.
you moved over to the other side of your bed and placed a pillow in the middle, snapping your fingers and letting magic do its thing to move fudou into your bed without waking him up.
you smiled and grabbed his hand which rested on top of the pillow that separates you both. “thank you, akio...” you whispered and fell back to sleep.
“... who in the world would welcome a man into their bed willingly..? stupid y/n...”
he pulled his hand a bit to lace his fingers with yours, as he, too, slowly fell back to sleep.

Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
