safe (in my arms)
feat. adventures of asuto and you
“... manager, i think we're.. lost?”
you paused in your tracks. horrified, you whispered. “no way...”
“please tell me you're kidding.” you mumbled, clutching the strap of your chanel bag with trembling fingers. asuto turned to you and weakly smiled, “i wish i could but...”
the two of you looked around your surroundings, everything looks so foreign. that's when it starts to dawn on the two of you,
you were lost.
“we were just supposed to be eating gelato at the newly opened cafe at town but how did it come to this...” you mumbled as you rummaged through your bag to look for your phone. “first, let's ask siri about our–” asuto blinked when you suddenly paused: “what's wrong?”
“i can't find my phone...” you said as you bit your lip and check your bag once again. and again. and again.
“... my wallet's also missing...” you announced as asuto massaged his temples. “did you bring your phone with you? or any money?” you asked him, asuto shook his head with a frown. “no because you said it's your treat so...”
the both of you sighed; “hah...”
“for now, i guess we can ask someone where this place is...” you said as asuto nodded. the two of you then began to walk along the pavement and look for someone who looks nice.
“excuse me, ma'am...” asuto called. the old lady slowly turned and stares at asuto in surprise, “oh my, you're inamori asuto from inazuma japan, right?” she immediately asks.
“oh silly me, you're on a date with the little girl. so then, how may i help you?” she grinned as you and asuto blinked (“is she talking about me?” “i don't know either,”).
“uhm, may we ask where this place is..?” you asked as the lady stares at the two of you out of surprise. “oh my, are the two of you perhaps lost?” she asked as the two of you nodded with a sigh.
“yes, we actually came from tokyo...” you replied as the lady gasps, “tokyo? dear, this is already nagoya. no wonder your accents were a bit off, it was because you were from the capital.”

“nagoya?!”
the two of you looked at each other in horror. “no wonder we were on the bus for nearly 6 hours..!” you exclaimed as you squinted your eyes at the male. “you said we were riding the right bus!” you added as you glared at the male who only nervously laughed.
“hah... anyways, thank you for the help and we're sorry for keeping you busy.” you said as you bowed your head at the lady. “oh no, i'm happy to help.” she said as she waved goodbye at the two of you.
“hah... (it's embarrassing to admit but) we're currently broke and we have no means of contacting the others...” you sighed once again as asuto just smiled.
“let's just wander around and hope we bump into someone we know.”
—
“asuto... we've been waiting for someone we know to come for five hours... i've lost all hope.” you sighed as you got up from the bench. “hmm... i can teleport back to the house right now but i would leave you alone here.” you said as you scratched your head.
“actually, we could teleport together but i'm afraid it's not a hundred percent accurate.” you admitted. asuto brightened up and stood, “then let's do that!”
“it seems you didn't hear the last part, only the good part huh...” you face-palmed with a sigh. “it might lead us to a different place, asuto.” you whispered as he grinned. “i don't care, let's do it.” he giggled as you sighed.
“asuto, sweetie, we might actually end up in a desert– or worse in the middle of the sea.”
“did that ever happen before?” he asked as you shook your head, “no, but it might..!”
“then if that happens we can just teleport again to a different place.” he said as you sighed, giving up. “alright. just don't blame me for whatever happens.” you said as you snapped your fingers.
—
“what the...”
you immediately pinched the bridge of your nose, as the two of you fell with a huge splash. you immediately swam up and latched on a wooden board which was (luckily) nearby.

you looked around to find asuto, who just swam up in front of you, shivering at the coldness of the water. asuto latched on the other side of the wooden board and cried at you, “manager, you jinxed it!”
“i just told you what could happen..!” you frowned and snapped your fingers.
—
“oh my god, it's suddenly so hot now–”
you fanned yourself and looked around.
really? a desert? how bad can both of your lucks be?
“you jinxed it again!”
asuto whined, “manager, teleport us somewhere cold.” and with that, you snapped your fingers.
—
“manager, this is too windy and cold!”
asuto yelled as you immediately crouched down and curled yourself in to a ball, shivering at the cold.
oh so after a desert is in the middle of a snowstorm occuring.
you immediately snapped your fingers.
—
a scream escaped your lips as you were suddenly faced with a snake who looked ready (starved enough) to devour you. “manager, why are we in the forest now?!” you heard asuto as you closed your eyes when the snake neared you.
“just teleport us somewhere nice and safe, please, god!” you yelled and then snapped your fingers.
—
everything seemed to slow down when you opened your eyes. everything around you was blue. it was a beautiful shade of blue, it was as blue as the sky.
oh my god, the sky.
and then you realized, you were falling from the sky. “when i wished for somewhere nice and safe, i didn't mean !” you yelled as you shut your eyes once again.
just when you thought you were gonna fall pretty hard and possibly burst your brains out on the ground, you landed on something firm, but soft.
hearing a groan, you slowly opened your eyes. everything looked familiar. aah, you're finally home now.
‘this is... terumi's balcony..?’ you widened your eyes. ‘then this person is...’
you looked down, “te– terumi..?”
you gasped and then immediately threw your arms around his neck and buried your head in his chest. “huh? manager..?” afuro placed a hand on top of your head hesitatingly.
“oh my god, it's really you!” you whispered with tears in your eyes. “y– y/n..?” afuro couldn't comprehend what exactly happened but he knew right away that you went through something not so nice (judging from your shivering form and your wet clothes).
“you know, asuto and i got lost on our way to the cafe and ended up in nagoya. i got my phone and wallet stolen so we didn't have money and something to use to contact you guys. and then we tried to teleport back here but then we ended up in the middle of the sea, and when we tried again, we were on a desert. when we tried once more, we were suddenly stuck somewhere where a snowstorm was occuring. and then when we wanted to teleport back once again, we were in the middle of the forest and a snake was about to bite me. it was so scary, and then i wished for god to teleport us somewhere safe and i ended up falling on top of you.” you took deep breaths.
afuro slowly registered your words and smiled, caressing your head and staring at the sky. “well, you're here now. that's what matters.” he said as he laid down on the floor with you shedding tears on his polo (it's jus' you wetting his clothes in general).
it was moments til you've finally calmed down. “... i'm never going out with asuto alone anymore.” you said as you sniffled, lifting your head to look at him, chuckling a bit.
“yes, and if you ever have to, i can always go with you.” afuro said, pushing a stray hair to the back of your ear and wiping your big fat tears with his finger.
“hmn.” you replied with a smile.
— asuto's side
“WAAHHH!”
“oomf–”
asuto rubbed his head and sat up. he looked to see hiura groaning in pain underneath him. “aah! hiura!” he immediately stood and helped the poor male back on his feet.
“asuto? what were you doing, falling out of nowhere like that...”
asuto suddenly remembered, “aah! i forgot about manager!” and then ran back inside the mansion to find you.
“why's he finding manager..?”

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
