feat. your skin (rip)
“kazemaru, you okay?”
endou asked, putting a hand on kazemaru's shoulders out of worry. “yeah i'm fine. but...” kazemaru peeked at you (who's on the bleachers) from the corner of his eyes.
“but..?”
“nevermind...”
—
“hey kazemaru, you can take a break from practice if you're not feeling well.” kidou said as he approached his friend.
“no, i'm fine.” kazemaru said as he brushed off the weird feeling on his back.
“if you say so...”
—
“kazemaru, is something bothering you?” nosaka asked, opening the bottle cap and drinking. “hmm...” kazemaru hesitated, but gave in at nosaka's piercing gaze.
“it's just that i've noticed manager staring at me the whole time and it's kinda creeping me out.” kazemaru sighed as the both of them watched you pass the water bottles and the towels to the boys.
“did you do something perhaps..?” nosaka guessed as kazemaru shook his head, “i don't think i did something that'd make her sta–”
“kazemaru, here.” you gave him a bottle of water and tossed a clean towel over his shoulder. “... what are you so stiff for?” you asked, weirded out.
nosaka only stared at you with amused eyes, wiping his sweat with the towel.
“well, you've been sta–”
“oh my god, even with the wind blowing...” you uttered, seemingly dazed while staring at kazemaru, who blinked; “.. pardon?”
“hah, i can't get over your bangs, really...”
you mumbled while shaking your head. “my... my bangs?” kazemaru blinked.
“yes, your bangs, it's as mysterious as the bermuda triangle. i don't know how it defies the law of gravity and just stays still even as you play soccer.” you suddenly blurted out. nosaka stifled a laugh from beside you.

“i bet it still wouldn't move even if i hang you upside down by the dorm's gates.” kazemaru flinched and chuckled uncomfortably as nosaka just enjoyed you babbling nonsense.
“i'd certainly die to have bangs like yours. mine just wouldn't stay still and i've already tried putting on a double sided tape but i ripped my forehead's skin a bit when i tried to remove the tape so it's not really recommended. ...” you sighed in despair as you made your way back to the bleachers.
“so that was why she had a bandage wrapped around her forehead the other day...” haizaki, overhearing you, sighed out of disbelief.
“i never thought it was because of that dumb idea...”

Everyone knows how the general story is supposed to go. A man, unwittingly going about his normal and ordinary life, is suddenly whisked off to a game style fantasy world where he is expected to become the unwavering hero of the realm. That is until the summoned hero throws a Hail Mary and gets himself transported to a tutorial world before the summoning can be completed. Add in a clumsy goddess and a broken planet and that is just where our story begins... Greetings all, thanks for taking the time to read this. This is my first story here on RRL and it's becomming one of the things I look forward to working on each day. As of June 2020, the story description has been updated (now that the characters have told me what was actually going on this author thought it prudent to update this) . Updates will be sporatic as i have time to juggle real life with writing. You the readers have become an integral part of the story helping to decide how things will progress, so enjoy the story and please leave a review or rating so this author can continue to improve the story. New chapters coming soon with edits to existing ones in process As a side note, I wish I could add a science tag to this. While this is still fiction, I have been incorporating real life scientific theories and explanations for how things could be *plausibly* explained. (No, I will not lecture on these points, but they are added to author notes) ~badw0lf

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)

Saga of Steel and Bone (Ashes & Phoenix)
Can a King rise from the ashes of a broken soul? As a half-breed abomination blamed for the death of his brother, Roland's father disowned him and his pack rejected him. Without a home, only the vilest of overlords accepted him as a slave. His past defined him, his present seemed futile, and his future seemed hopeless. Until he escaped the assassin overlords and came to meet a small family who adopted him as their own. They forced him to look past what he’d come to expect in Humans; forced him to face what he’d become. They showed him a glimpse of happiness for the first time in his life. But tragedy is never far from one running from the past. The Empire steals his first glimpse of peace, putting him on a collision course of past, present, and future that will take him to a small town needing a hero and vast mountains hiding deadly secrets and fire-breathing creatures. It's a race against time to rescue those he loves... before they, too, become more cold bodies laid at the feet of the Emperor. His path will take him on the journey of hero and villain, the lines blurred between right and wrong, his hands stained red with the blood of both the guilty and the innocent. But Roland knows one thing. Those who took his family will pay. He’s coming for them, and Avidon will never be the same. Ashes is clean werewolf fiction with redemptive and psychological elements. It is the first in a planned trilogy, set in the First of the Four Worlds, Avidon. Book Two, Phoenix, is currently being released on a two to three chapters a week schedule. This tale contains elements of faith, family, and fighting for hope in hopeless situations. There is war: so violence, blood, and gore are common, as are vague references to torture and rape. Dive into Avidon and her sister worlds today for heart-pounding adventure, laughter, and baby dragons. Enjoy! Want to know what's happening on Beulah, Second of the Four Worlds? Hop over to The Guardian and explore a world of magic and mayhem where one girl and her pony-sized wolf roam the streets looking for people they can devour. Or the wolf does.
