"What nonsense is this I hear the villagers say"
Three old nobles, barged into the court room of Iona, interrupting the little conversation she was having with Kyle.
They all had visible grey hair on each of their heads, with a crest pasted on their long garments.
Of all the trio, one stepped forward, speaking in such outrageous manner, while directing his words at the Princess.
"Who are you?" She asked immediately, staring at him confusingly, awaiting his response.
"Is it true that Kyle Brennan is now the one in charge of roles and duties, in regards to Erinburgh?" The man uttered.
"I asked a question" Iona spoke immediately, pushing aside the scroll which was in her hands, and arising her throne.
"Who are you?" She demanded.
"We make up the court Council. The special advisors to the Duke and Duchess of Erinburgh"
"I am Augustus Bardolph" The man introduced himself.
"That's Theodore, and right there's William" He added.
"We are here to know the reason why Kyle Brennan is here in Erinburgh, directing all activities and even heading the Kingdom.
"The Duke and Duchess are dead" Princess Iona began.
"We are very much aware of that" The man named Theodore spoke. From his tone of speech, one could tell he was raging.
"And so are my parents, the King and Queen of Zorllonah"
The men remained silent, focusing all of their attention on her.
"I never intended taking the throne of my aunt and Uncle, speaking right now, I am more than saddened by the fact that the people of Zorllonah, my own people, are somewhere out there roaming around with nowhere to stay, nothing to feed on, not a shelter for their aching bodies.
"So you fled your own city, abandoning your so called people in the hands of danger"

"The whole of Zorllonah is gone, every single thing swept off the face of the earth. I was forced to leave there to come over here requesting for help from the Duke and Duchess, but upon my arrival I received news that they had been killed"
"This is not my throne, neither is it yours" Iona uttered in a low voice.
"But this seat can't remain vacant all because you can't afford to have a citizen of another kingdom rule you, most especially be it a lady"
"We are not concerned about you ruling, after all you're the niece to the Duke and Duchess.
Since there's no other person to take up the throne after the demise, according to the laws of Erinburgh a relative or a kin, has to take the position. Now, you're the only one left to do that.
The only problem we've got is Kyle Brennan ruling alongside you"
"Goodness! He's an ally of Cedric, he kills for pleasure. He has brought misery on several outlying villages. We can't have a man like that ruling this kingdom" Theodore uttered in a stern voice, his eyes resting on Kyle.
"Days ago, we arrived in this town, meeting it all in havoc. Diseases spreading around, nothing to eat. The whole kingdom was a wreck. Take a look around you now, all of that is gone, there's massive flourishings presently in Erinburgh, plenty of food to go around, the sun never stops shining on our roofs, blessing us with its beauty, Children are happy, the villagers have got their lives back, all because of the one man you Claim to bring misery. He has done nothing but brought joy into the hearts of every villager of Erinburgh. At least be appreciative of that"
"We don't care what he has done in the past few days, he will not stay here!" William barked.

"You're forgetting that we make up the council" He added.
"And you're forgetting that I am the one sat on this throne" Iona retorted, silencing the men immediately.
"Iona" Kyle called her name softly, in a bid to calm her down.
The men stared at her for a while, and then Theodore opened his mouth to speak, staring into her eyes at every word he spoke.
"Perhaps the reason you want him so bad to remain here, is to have someone give warmth to the gap between your thighs" He spat in a cold voice.
Dumbfounded at his statement, Iona gazed at him, watching him with not a word for her to say.
She looked away, keeping herself together, and quietly she began speaking.
"You will not question my authority" She uttered.
"Do yourself a favor, and leave the throne room, or I'll have the guards walk you out" She added.
They all stared at her, lost for words.
In an instant, they spun around, exiting the room with burdened hearts.
As soon as the door was shut, Kyle moved over to her speaking.
"Don't you think they are right? I'm just an impostor" He said to her.
"No you're not, Kyle" She drew closer to him.
"They only say those things cause they haven't had a chance to know you better"
"You're far from who they judge you to be. I know that"
Kyle stared into her eyes, listening to every word she said.
"Why do you believe in me so much?" He asked.
"I'm no good for you, I've done terrible things, to people around, I've got a bad past" He said in a low voice.
"A past you say. And that's what it is. I've been with you for not too long, but I've grown to know you. You're better than what you think, Kyle" Iona spoke, moving closer to him and touching his arm gently.
"I believe in you, cause-"
She paused for a moment, looking away searching for the right word to say.
"Call me crazy, but.........I'm in love with you. I'd have no other person be here with me, but you, Kyle Brennan. I love you and I never want to see you go" She uttered softly.
He stared at her, his lips parting open at her words. He didn't know what to say, he never thought she felt this way. He always believed a girl like her shouldn't be with someone like him, a person who wouldn't give a second thought in ripping people's heads off.
Slowly, he planted a kiss right on her lips, drawing her closer to himself.
"You're perfect" He whispered into her ears.
"And I'll be damned to leave you" He added.

Re:Mento Mori
When Ryuji, a disgruntled salaryman, is supposed to reach an unfortunate end, he is instead thrust into a new world, inhabiting a body that isn't his own. Forced into a world filled with strife and death, can he claim freedom and happiness? Or will his turbulent new life only lead to suffering and pain? As with every time-loop story written by an amateur author, this is heavily inspired by Re:Zero. If I had to explain my book, I would say imagine Re:Zero, but the main character can actually fight people instead of just getting merked every time he meets someone with a weapon. The themes of this story are dark, so be forewarned. This is my first story so keep that in mind while reading it.

Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet!
