《Return Of The Nerd|||| COMPLETED》Chapter 5- People Talk

Adrianna Rodriguez's Point of View:
"So kids we'll be focusing on the reproductive system for this term and your project will be on this topic," Miss Cooper spoke softly.
I laughed to myself as I heard the snickers that were going around the class when they heard what we would be learning about.
I glanced over at Sebastian just as Miss Cooper told everyone to be quiet so that she could continue. I studied his profile all the while completely ignoring Miss Cooper. I could tell that he knew that I was watching him from the slight twitch of his eye and the way he was clenching his fist as if refusing to allow himself to turn around and face me.
A smirk made its way to my face at seeing this. It was actually kind of funny to see him like this.
"Okay kids," Miss Cooper called us again "I want you guys to get into your pairs and start sorting out how you are going to go about this"
Sebastian and I were already seated beside each other so I just turned in my seat to face him. I studied his profile as he kept his face straight not once turning to face me. I kept on staring at him, not at all fazed by his indifference to me. I started humming some random songs as I kept on staring at him. That seemed to do the trick as he turned around to face me.
"Would you stop that humming," he demanded.
"I can now," I sighed dramatically "since you finally decided to look at me"
"Yeah well it seems I'm slightly dependent on you for a grade," he spat in disgust.
"Oh my," I mock gasped "should I dare believe that the school's bad boy is concerning himself with a measly grade"

"For your information, I prefer to be an educated bad boy than a stupid one," he mumbled.
"Well...I guess there are two things we have in common then, we both desire an education"
"What's the second thing?" He asked curiously.
"Well our mutual hate for a certain someone is the next thing that we have in common"
"Wasn't he your perfect little boyfriend?" He snickered at the look of shock on my face "this is high school, people talk"
"Well, these same people seem to have forgotten how he cheated on me and humiliated me," I snapped.
Taking a deep breath, I inhaled deeply and exhaled releasing all the pent-up anger that I felt from those words.
"Look Sebastian," I spoke gently missing the way that he stared at me when I said his name "you hate him too and any enemy of my enemy is my friend"
"We'll see about that," he spoke after a lengthy pause "I'll see you later"
Without even giving me a chance to reply Sebastian rose to his feet and headed straight for the door. Miss Cooper didn't even bat an eyelid when he opened the door and left, slamming the door behind him. I sat there just staring at the door that he went through and just seconds later the bell rang signaling the end of the class.
I quickly grabbed my things and made a mental note of the assignment Miss Cooper had just given us. I rushed out the door and into the now packed school hall. I glanced down at my schedule to see that my next class was AP English. I took my own sweet time getting to class. I took one of the seats to the windows to get some fresh air. Class literally flew by. I loved English before so it was both entertaining and educational for me. I sighed when the bell rang, I was really enjoying the class. I guess some things never change, I'm a nerd at heart. I grabbed my things and left the classroom. I headed straight for the cafeteria where I knew Katy and Matt would be.

I let out a sigh of relief when I saw them sitting at a table in the far corner, with an excellent view of the entire cafeteria. This should be helpful.
"Hey guys," I smiled upon reaching the table.
"Hey," they mumbled in unison busy stuffing their faces.
A smirk made its way onto my face when Matt slid a tray filled with food over to me. I quickly glanced at the contents of the tray and smiled utterly pleased. They must have heard that I had English before lunch and knowing how much I love the class I was normally the last to leave effectively making me late for lunch.
"I take it you guys heard I had English just now"
"People talk," was Matt's careless reply.
I focused on eating as the truth of both Sebastian's and Matt's words hit me. People do talk, sometimes a little too much and about things they're clueless about. One thing is certain though, I'm going to give them something to talk about.

Shadow in the North
What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
