Teddy
I opened my eyes, and blinked twice. Damien was lying on the floor, next to Lucy. They were passed out, or... I hated the think about the alternative. Katie was, to my suprise, not focused on me.
She had her arm out, her palm flat out, and it was as if she'd just pushed someone, which - as I soon found out - she had. Edward was lying flat on the floor, but he wasn't yet knocked out. He was clearly about to be, though.
"Teddy! Get out - you're not safe here!"
"thing is, none of us are, so just shut up and for ONCE in your life do something that's actually HELPFUL," I told him because, as much as I hated him, he wasn't the worst person in the world - and anyway, I didn't want to watch ANYONE die.
"Teddy," Katie mumbled. "poor, defenceless Teddy. You do have a death wish, dear."
Then, she flung herself at me, and I JUST avoided being hit by flinging myself to the ground and rolling. Several jars were knocked off the walls, and I hit my head on a large wooden chair in the corner.
Katie flung herself at me again, and I hid behind the chair. Katie laughed.
"Never mind - I have what I came for."
And then she walked over to Damien, grabbed him off the floor and flung him over her shoulder.

She gave me a mock salute, and then muttered "till we meet again, Teddy."
She began to walk out, and I looked around, looking for SOMETHING I could use to stop her. I turned to the chair, and snapped off its leg and flung it at her. It missed her heart - id never been good a throwing - but it hit her lung, and she fell to the floor. Luckily, Damien opened his eyes, and was at the other side of the room.
"I thought He'd be done for," Edward laughed, a chilling and piercing sound. "well, not done for, but under Katie's power forever, Soz to doubt you, mate."
He reached out for Damien's leg, but he moved it. "that bitch is done messing with my friends and family," he snapped, and pulled the chair leg from Katie's chest and flung it down into her heart.
Edward blinked, once, twice, then looked around. "what happened? I came cause I heard screaming, and then..."
"She took over you, and you were gonna hurt me"
"Katie? But... why would she...?"
"She's dead, Edward. Sorry, but she's dead."
Edward just looked at him with no expression at all. Then he sighed. "she never truly loved me, that much is obvious, Dan. No ones ever TRULY loved me - and it's lonely. You know?"
"sorry, but I can't say I do."
"you wouldn't."
"no"
They started a conversation, and I looked down at Katie's limp body. If it had worked on Edward, why didn't she just do it on me? She could just tell me I had to escape, or maybe even kill myself. Wouldn't that be easier?
"Teddy? Oh, the body. I will order it removed immediately-"
"No, you should give her a proper funeral. Her family will be sad."

I turned, and there, standing in the doorway, was my exact duplicate, just in different colours.
She had straight blond hair that went to get shoulders, perfectly combed as mine had been, although not the same colour. She had pale skin, so obviously a vampire. Her deep green eyes stared deeply into mine, as mine were brown, and she was wearing a short, polka dot mini dress. Cute.
Damien was staring at her so deeply it was as if she was a ghost. Wait, was she a ghost? MY ghost? No, that wasn't possible, I was still alive....
So who was she? And how did she suddenly appear out of nowhere and start acting all angelic? CLEARLY Damien knew, because now he was all 'OMG I'm suddenly a goldfish' and that just WASN'T right.
"Teddy, isn't it? So glad to meet you at last. I've really only heard... a BIT about you, and I must say you're very... interesting!"
She laughed, and it was a tingly sound that for some reason made me shiver all over. "none the matter! Damien, seriously, you look so un-charming, do shut your mouth - and Lucy! You HAVE grown up! Edward... I must admit you really haven't changed. Are all of you well?"
Damien gulped, and took a deep breath, before muttering "Mazza"

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.

Dawn of the Epoch
Hunter called himself an archaeologist, but he was a modern day treasure hunter. Tiyana was a scientist devoted to her craft. They were passionate people, wholly devoted to their work. Neither of them had time for love. Neither of them could resist it when it happened. Neither of them knew that the world would need the two of them to save it from a tyrannical pre-historic overlord, his cyborg vampire paramour, and their army of mindless drudges.Dawn of the Epoch is an epic science fiction novel about dark matter, death rays, nuclear warfare, and the Large Hadron Collider, but it is also a fantasy novel about medieval warriors, alchemy, and ancient gods. Dawn of the Epoch blends fantasy with reality, bringing mythology to life today. It is also an apocalyptic thriller spanning the globe from the Pyramids of Egypt to the heart of Africa to the majesty of the Himalayas. It is an epic hybrid-genre story with intense action sequences, magic, mythology, suspenseful plot twists, countless obstacles for the protagonists to overcome, and an utterly Machiavellian supernatural villain.Testimonials:"Probably one of my favorite books I've read to date. Brilliantly complex, adoringly rendered and quizzically intense. A must read and one I plan to revisit, and share!"- Amgwatts, Wattpad Reader"This has to be one of the most original and well written novels I have had the pleasure to read, on Wattpad and in general. It was captivating, interesting, immersive and above all, fantastic. I was left in awe of the beings, history and world you created. It was never dull, dry or predicable and it was a nice change from what seems to be the ever popular teen romance with vampires or werewolves or 'bad boys that are actually romantic good boys.' In the end it was a very pleasant surprise."-IridescentLies, Wattpad Readerhttp://dawnoftheepoch.weebly.com
