Kuroo curiously peaked into the classroom, class had ended a few minutes ago and he was hoping he'd finally get a chance to speak with (Y/N). But he couldn't find the girl that he was looking for, instead he found his other friend staring at him confused.
She isn't here, again?
"Do you need something, Kuroo?" Kai asked.
"Nope, nothing. Nothing at all." Kuroo replied, making the second year next to him sigh.
"He's looking for (L/N)." Kenma muttered, not even looking up from his PSP.
"Come on, Kenma." Kuroo complained.
"Oh, she went to her clubroom." Kai replied, as he placed his bag over his shoulder,"I can take you there if you want." Kai offered.
"Yeah, that's be great." Kenma muttered, wanting to get this over as quickly as possible. Today, their volleyball practice had been canceled and Kenma couldn't wait to get home. Unfortunately, Kuroo had other plans for today. The rooster head had been trying to invite (Y/N) to his birthday party tomorrow.
Kuroo had multiple opportunities to ask her, but every time he either chickens out or something went wrong. So now this was his last chance.
Nothing was going to get in his way, today.
"I assume you two are getting closer?" Kai questioned as they walked down the stairs. Kuroo merely shrugged in response, trying to hide his excitement. Kenma almost let out a scoff at his friends behavior, he didn't even have to look at Kuroo to know that he was lying.
"(Y/N)'s getting more comfortable around you." Kai commented, making Kuroo's eyes light up.
"Really? That's great." Kuroo said, muttering the last part.
"Yeah, you guys will be close friends in no time." Kai encouraged. Kuroo nodded his head, a bit confused why he wasn't as excited as he thought he would be.

Close friends....isn't that what I wanted?
"This is her clubroom." Kai explained, gesturing to the door in front of them. Kuroo stared at it for a few seconds, still wrapped up in his thoughts.
What do I want?
"Kuroo?" Kai called out, confused.
"Oh, sorry." Kuroo replied, he walked up to the door and knocked on it softly.
"Kuroo, Kenma and I will be waiting at the entrance." Kai explained, as he and the second year began walking away from him.
"H-Hey! Wait-"
"Can I help you?" a girl with shorter hair asked.
"Is (Y/N) here?" Kuroo replied, the girl stared him down for a bit. Kuroo recognized her as a second year, but they had never spoke to each other.
"Yeah, hold on. Let me go get her." She mumbled, Kuroo watched as she backed up into the room and shut the door in his face.
I-
....
Okay.
He patiently waited outside the room, wondering what was happening inside. Every minute felt like an hour and he began tapping his foot impatiently.
Did that girl not-
"K-Kuroo?" She exclaimed, surprised, making Kuroo briefly forget his train of thought.
"(Y/N), hi." Kuroo greeted.
"Uh, hi." (Y/N) replied, still a bit confused.
"Can we talk?" Kuroo asked, making (Y/N) nod her head. She stepped out of her clubroom and slid the door close behind her.
"I guess you guys don't have volleyball practice today, huh?" (Y/N) commented.
"Yeah, we're off for today." Kuroo explained,"Uh, (Y/N)." He paused.
"Y-Yes?" (Y/N) questioned, a bit nervous.
"Are you busy tomorrow?" Kuroo finally asked.
"No, not really." (Y/N) replied.
"Uh, its my birthday tomorrow. Me and my friends were going to hang out. I was wondering if you could come as well." Kuroo explained. (Y/N) stared at him for a few seconds, not expecting this at all. Hearing no response, Kuroo began to panic.

"Don't worry, everyone is really nice." Kuroo reassured.
"Y-Yeah, of course I can come." (Y/N) replied.
"Really?" Kuroo questioned, making (Y/N) nod her head,"Okay, uh, can we exchange numbers so I can tell you the details?" He continued.
"O-Oh, yeah." (Y/N) fumbled with her phone before handing it to Kuroo. They quickly traded contact information and Kuroo gave her a smile.
"See you tomorrow, (Y/N)." Kuroo said as he walked away, his heart beating as fast as ever.
I did it.

Friday 3:57 PM
The two volleyball players sat next to each other, the train being relatively empty now. Kuroo was staring at the ceiling, while Kenma played on his PSP. But the second year couldn't help notice the stupid smile that his friend wore on his face.
What's he so happy about?
"Something good happen?" Kenma asked, curious.
"Huh?" Kuroo exclaimed, snapping out of his thoughts.
"Nevermind." Kenma shrugged off, not wanting to repeat himself. Of course, he was glad that Kuroo was happy. But he was curious as to why.
We didn't have volleyball practice today.
"Hey, you're coming tomorrow right?" Kuroo asked.
"Yeah." Kenma mumbled.
Why would I miss your birthday party?
"Are you okay?" Kenma finally asked, making Kuroo stared at him confused.
"Are concerned about me?" Kuroo teased.
".....forget I asked." Kenma muttered, earning a laugh from Kuroo. The continued to sit in peaceful silence, just enjoying each other's company.
Now that I think about it he's been pretty happy these few days.
Kenma continued his game, but was barely paying attention. He began recalling the events that had happened this past week.
Monday, (L/N) came and took pictures.
Tuesday, we ate lunch with (L/N).
Wednesday, I asked (L/N) to deliver the drink.
Thursday, Kuroo got some gift from (L/N).
Friday, he went to (L/N)'s club room.
Kenma's eyes widened as he somehow connected all the dots. So surprised, he blanked out and his character quickly died in the game. He stared at the 'game over' display blankly.
It's (L/N).
He likes (L/N).
