《Chenry. I Like You.》Later!

It was the next day and I was getting ready to go to Yotally Togurt with Charlotte. I wanted to wear something nice since right after that I would be seeing Chloe. I can't believe she's back in Swellview. I mean, it's been like 3 years since she moved. After we broke up, we didn't really talk. Ok. We didn't talk at all.
It was already 11:12 so I left the house and was on my way to Charlotte's house. I think she wanted me to pick her up, but I wasn't sure. We didn't agree on anything.

I was walking down the stairs when I heard a knock on the door.
"Coming!" I yell. "Hey Hen." I say greeting Henry. "Hey" he says looking down at his phone. "You dressed up?" I ask him as we start towards the sidewalk. "Huh?" He said looking at his clothes. "Oh, yeah."
"Why? We're just going to Yotally Togurt." I say confused.
"Wha- I told you that I was going to meet up with Chloe after."
"Oh," I said. "Sorry, must've forgot." I didn't forget. I just didn't like the idea that he was going to hang out with her. In all honesty, I didn't like it when he would hang out with any girls. He always tried to impress them and show off in front of them. It made him seem so cocky.

"Henry you can't get that. That has wayyy too much sugar!" I blurt.
"No it doesn't! It only has 65 grams!"
"Okay. But you better not be complaining about how your stomach is hurting after." I tell him.
"I won't," he said sternly. "I promise." We were now looking into each others eyes. His deep, dark brown eyes. Filled with love. Love that could build up and destroy someone within in a second. I always wondered what it would be like to be with him. To be that special person. The one receiving all of his love. I guess that's the main reason why I didn't like seeming with other girls. Some part of me knew that he could never like me like that. We were close, but not that close. He came to me for all advice. Especially girl advice. I did like those talks, if I'm being honest. I just wish they were about me.

"Aww. You guys are such an adorable couple. How long have you little beans been together?" I heard a lady ask.
"Uh- I'm- wait wha- we're not dating." Henry says looking away from me. "We're just freinds."
"Ohhh. Right." the blonde lady said. She looked aged. I would say she was a good 76 years old. "I've heard that one before. 'We're just friends'. They never actually stay as just friends." She said giving me a look and then Henry, and then back to me.
"Okay," she said clapping her hands together. "I have to go. You kids have a nice date."
"We're not dating!" Henry yelled after her.
"... Well... that was awkward." I say trying to avoid eye contact at all costs.
"Yeah, can't believe she actually that we were dating." He said looking down at his feet. "I mean, especially cuz we're not. *awkward laugh* We're just friends." Finally, he had the gut to look at me and I did the same .
"Yeah..." I say standing up. "Ummm... I'm gonna go to the bathroom."
"Okay you do that!" He said loud enough for the whole continent to hear. Everyone looked at him in confusion. "Sorry.." he said in a whisper.

"You seriously don't think that I'm gonna be president one day?" Charlotte asks me.
"Nah, I think that Ray has more of a chance of being president than you do." I say sarcastically causing her to roll her eyes.
"No way." She said. "I doubt the government would let anyone with that small of a brai-"
"Sorry, I have to go." I told her grabbing my jacket.
"What. Why. Ohhh. Chloe." She said understanding what I was talking about.

"Yeah, but I'll see you." I said walking near the door. "Byee."
I felt bad leaving her there. She was probably mad at me, but it didn't matter because I knew that she would soon be over it. I also just felt really uncomfortable after that lady came out us. What did she mean by, "they never actually stay friends"? She had not right to be saying all of those things. She doesn't even know what type of relationship Charlotte and I have. Not that we have one. But like, not that we don't. I-
No. We were just friends. That's all. Yeah.

I sat on the bench in Swellview Park waiting for Chloe. I had text her the night prior and she told me that we could meet up here. 12:43. It was good time. I wonder if Cha-
"Henry?! Henry Hart?! Omg is that really you?!?!" I heard a girlish squel.
"Chloe?.." I said realizing who it was. "Hey! I missed you!"
"I missed you too!" She said coming in for a hug. I hugged her back as an instinct. "Its been so long since I've seen you. How have you been?!"
"Um. You know, same old thing. Just hanging at the beach. Playing football." I lied, but only because I wanted her to be interested. "Uh, I heard you got a new show."
"Oh, yeah, well. It's not really show. It's a movie but yeah." She said flipping her hair back.
"Oh. Right" I said. "So, what do you want to do? I was thinking that we could go see a movie."
"Yeah, I would love to."

"That'll be $16.32" the cashier lady said.
"I'll pay." Chloe said.
"No it's okay, I'll pay." I said trying to convince her.
"No Henry, for real. It's fine. I'll pay." She said assuring me.
"Uh okay."
Chloe gave the lady the money and we walked into the room where the movie was playing. We were watching a romantic movie. Felt right. Chloe pointed to some some seats and we sat down. The movie started and it got quiet.

I can't believe Henry just left me like that. True he did give me a heads up, but still! You don't just leave a girl when you're on a dat- I mean, when you're hanging out. And especially not to go hang out with another girl. I was so annoyed with him. This better not become a regular thing.
guys! was the that they will work out them?

A potent tale of self-discovery. Centuries ago, the prophetic Golden Age ended in war, and history spiraled into darkness... Now, only scholars retain the last portent of the mythic city A'lara, concealed in a distant glade for the advent of the dragon mage. At the edge of the Known World, the slave Larin escapes her new lord before she meets his dark masters. Deep in the mountains, the legendary elf Kingard awaits his call to battle. When young Darek flees imperial mages tasked to exterminate shape-shifters, he launches them all on a voyage to redeem their unsought destiny. United by fate and guided by prophesy, their growing band of fugitives journey for A'lara to fight the ancient evil infiltrating the capital. But looming over the gears of fate, their enemies follow the same prophesies. With the unknown close upon them, Kingard and his allies face a mortal quest to restore their infected empire. Praise for Awakening: If you love Anne McCaffrey, J.R.R. Tolkien and Tad Williams, then Awakening is a novel you will surely want to pick up. D.N.Frost is a consummate world-builder with a knack for creating characters that are complex and three-dimensional. Frost writes with graceful prose that is descriptive and well-edited. The plot is fast-paced and entertaining. What really sets this novel apart is the cartography, which is a spectacular accomplishment. Incredible world-building! - M.L. Spencer, author of The Rhenwars Saga ★★★★★ This novel was published in 2014, and it includes 19 antique watercolor maps! Check them out: Maps of Awakening: an atlas directory
8 140Demon Hunters
Far in the future, the last two viable cities in the western hemisphere – Technoburbia and New Baravia – struggle for control over a vast and largely desolate land. Officially they are at war. In practice, the war has been a stalemate for a generation, the disputed frontier between the two city-states never moving. In the city of New Baravia itself, a vast circular concrete wall keeps its inhabitants in, and its refugees out. For its citizens, life is monotonous and unequal, with enormous wealth in the hands of nobles, criminal gangs, and entertainment bosses. It is the last of these that control the hit entertainment show, “Demon Hunters”. A chance, perhaps, for the ordinary man or woman to rise up, and change their fate... This LitRPG novella is based around a futuristic battle-royale situation, partly set in VR, and partly in a post-apocalyptic city. The story features combat and action, some strong language, and lots of great characters that will stick with you! [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
