For the next three days,Ray just acted like the dad of the family. Whenever he told me do something I would roll my eyes.
On the other hand, piper was enjoying having Ray Around. She liked that 'captain man' was in her house. Of course she posted it all over the internet.
I hear the front door open with Charlotte panting.
"Char what's wrong?" I ask her.
"Maddie. She's gone!"
*maddie*
I wake up tied up on a chair. Delirious as I was, I managed to call out someone's name.
"Henry? Ray?" I say. I could tell my voice was a lot more settle and deep.
"ANYONE?!" I screamed this time.
It was a dark room. I saw the front door shut tight so you couldn't see anything. There were no windows so I couldn't tell if it was day or night.
"HELP!" Was the last thing I screamed till someone opened the door.
It was man. Not too short or tall. He looked if he was in his mid 30s. Jet black hair and a beard. He looked as if I've seen him somewhere. So familiar.
"Ahhh so your awake my dear." He smiled.
"Don't call me that." I said.
"Should I not call my own daughter that?" He asked me.
Daughter?
"What are you talking about?" I carefully say.
"Ahh. Do you not know the story of the famous vandel?" He asks me getting closer.
I squirmed in my seat.
"I think I do." I tell him.
"Well long ago, nearly 14 years ago my own child was stolen from my hands! Daughter I should say. I never did see her again, unless you counted last night when you came wondering through." He explained.
"So your telling me that...I'm your....DAUGHTER!?" I yell.

"Ah didn't Ray tell you the truth?" He asked his eyes sinking into mine.
"No! And how do you know who Ray is?" I ask.
"Simply because I'm his-" someone came rushing through the door.
"Daddy!" A girl screamed.
She was tall and skinny. She had the longest dirty blonde hair and her green eyes peered towards me.
"Dad. Whose this?" She asked.
She looked much older then I was.
"Why dear veronika it's your younger sister!" He exclaimed.
"You mean the one that was stole from our uncle ray?" She asked vandel.
"IM THE STOLE CHILD?" I yelled this time.
Well now I know who the stole "baby" is!
"Wait. YOUR RAYS BROTHER?" I said realizing the second thought.
"Why yes yes. I was just about to say until Veronika came through." He says.
I couldn't understand! My parents, well at least my dad is, alive! Why has Ray been hiding this from me? All these years! I have siblings! A family. Just like I wanted. Why did Ray take me away?!
I had the sudden verge to explode into flames.
"My dear madsion, I know how you feel. Very much but-" I stopped him.
"NO THIS CANT BE HAPPENING! RAY WOULD NEVER LIE TO
ME! HE TOLD ME THAT MY PARENTS DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT! YOUR LYING YOUR LYING, LYING!" I could feel the tears stream down my cheeks.
"Maddie come with me." My 'sister' Veronika said to me.
I tried to look away.
"Look even I don't know the sorry." She sighs.
"At least help me get out of this seat!" I say.
She walks over to me and unwraps me.
"Let's go." She pulled my wrist towards the exit.
We stepped outside the shed thing and I see light.

"It's already morning?" I ask her.
She nods.
"Yeah I guess I knocked you out hard." She chuckles softly. "Sorry."
"It's okay. I mean I'm okay." I tell her.
"Wanna see the house?" She asks getting excited.
"Um sure, I guess." I shrug.
We walk about a few minutes and reach a private house. It was big. Made by the best bricks and beautiful landscaping, it was hard not to look at.
"Wow." It spilled out of my mouth.
"Yeah 'wow'" she laughs.
I walk inside the house and stare in awe. It was .
"Come on mads lets go into your room." She smiled as she took my wrist.
*henry*
I was at junk n stuff pacing back and forth inside the room.
"Man! Where could she have gone this time?" I say out loud.
"We searched everywhere, no sign of her!" Ray said.
"Come on!" I yell sitting down on the sofa.
"Hen will find her soon. I promise." Char puts a hand on my shoulder.
"What if we never do? She could be anywhere! This is all rays fault!" I shot a look at Ray.
"How?" He asks.
"Oh let's see. Mm. You left Maddie home alone while you were at our house 'protecting' my mom for 3 days. You didn't even ask Maddie where and how she was. I didn't even see her in school! I thought she was sick or something!" I scream in frustration.
"Come on Henry! It's not like you lost a daughter or something!" Ray shouts back.
"Like she is your daughter." I mutter.
"You know that's a topic your not aloud to talk about!" He says.
"She's not even here Ray!" I cross my arms.
I felt a tear drop on my shirt.
"Henry." Charlotte looks at me.
"I'm fine." I wipe the tear away.
But I know I wasn't.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
