《Fallen Miracles》I'll Crush you- Chapter eighteen

"Stupid miracles, stupid Akashi with his stupid jerky jerk face! What have I gotten myself into?" I cursed under my breath as I angrily trudged down the dimly lit sidewalk. Long shadows of towering buildings were cast down the road as the first rays of morning sun greeted the city.
The cool autumn air gently blew lightly playing with my hair in the process, the events of last night replaying in my head
making me tighten my fist around the thin popsicle stick in my hand.
--
"Seirin?" I mumbled confusedly rubbing my eyes in one last attempt to stay awake "I've never heard of that school. Are you sure you're not messing with me?"
An amused Akashi simply smiled, propping his tilted head upon his hand, "I assure you Seirin is a legitimate school. With it only being established last year it's no surprise that you haven't heard of it. It is a shame though I secretly hoped that this would have worked in my favour, Rakuzan would have been unstoppable," he sighed nonchalantly.
"But why would any of the Miracles go to school that's not considered a powerhouse... unless." My eyes widened at the realisation. Only one player would ever do something as unexpected as going to an underdog school.
"That right Shoyo, a reunion between the best duo of the Generation of Miracles. Although now I suppose you could be referred to as the fallen miracles now don't you think," Akashi said, voice full of disdain to which I simply rolled my eyes in irritation.
"Don't take me or Kuroko lightly, you of all people should know better Captain, after all, you were the one who saw the potential in him. You know I was willing to leave without a trace but now I'm annoyed. So be ready Seirin and I will beat you and the other Miracles so don't forget it."
Akashi scoffed, slightly frowning at the sudden challenge I had just thrown his way. "And here I thought you had lost your true way of thinking but I can still see that desire in your eyes, the desire to crush and win soon that desire will flood your thoughts like they did those three years ago. Mark my words, you'll find your way back to your rightful path."

Something in me snapped and the next words came flying out of my mouth before I could register them. "If you're so sure then why don't we make a bet?" I snapped glaring fiercely at a seemingly unfazed Akashi who simply raised a curious eyebrow.
"How intriguing, but I'm afraid you have nothing I want, Shoyo."
"Oh but I do, if you win I will move to Rakuzan and play under you and make that truly unstoppable team you've always wanted," I replied.
"And if I lose?"
"Then you leave me, my boyfriend, team and sister alone. You won't meddle with their futures and you will let me return to volleyball and Karasuno,"
A momentary silence embraced the room as the pink-haired male thought. The tension was suffocating and the loud ticking of the grandfather clock was not helping. My heartbeat was ringing in my ears and as soon as that patronising smile appeared I let out a shuddered breath.
--
"Gah I'm such an idiot, I just had to go and make a bet with him. So much for in and out Shoyo you dumbass," I huffed, kicking a stray pebble that lay on the ground.
After the ordeal last night I woke up in an unfamiliar bedroom startled by my surroundings. Quickly the events of the night before came flooding back and just as fast as those memories came I was out of the house before anyone could see me. This led to my current problem, I was walking the streets in the same clothes I was wearing the previous night with exactly 50 yen in my pocket and an empty stomach that was growling louder by the minute.
Enough to get me snacks but not a full meal ughh of course.
"Maybe I should head to the convenience store," I muttered, absentmindedly looking down at the coin I was twirling in my hand. I silently cringed when my stomach rumbled loudly for a second time attracting the attention of other pedestrians heading into work early.

Ahh, i want curl up in a ball and-
The next thing I knew my body made contact with another which sent me flying to the ground along with the number of things the other held "Ngh gah! Watch where your ah um g-g-going," I stuttered my words getting caught in my throat when the large shadow of the person was cast over me.
"Ehh my snacks fell, I just bought them, how did that happen?" A confused voice mumbled, scratching his head as I trembled below. I tried to crawl away silently praying that the skyscraper of a person wouldn't notice me, but as soon as I put my hand down the rustling and crunching of the chips packet made my presence known.
"Hey you," The shadowed face drawled, bending down slightly, eyes glowing in purple a rage "You made me drop my snacks, I'll kill you." At that it felt as though I was frozen in time, shaking from head to toe unable to move, squeezing my eyes closed. A big hand gripped the top of my head lifting me shaking myself off the ground so that we were at eye level.
"Ahh I-I'm sorry I'll buy you n-new snacks I swear I h-have money!" I blubbered, feeling the strong taste of bile enter my mouth. Ughhh this is what I feel like before games.
"Huh, Hina-chin that you, long time no see" the raspy voice yawned.
Hina-chin? You're joking...
Letting myself open one eye I found myself almost two metres off the ground looking into the lazy eyes of none other than the centre of the Generation of Miracles.
"M-Murasakibara?"
"Hey, long time no see Hina-chin,"
"Ah, y-yea um hey do you think you could maybe p-put me down now," I stuttered, earning a lazy nod from the giant.
"Woah look at you, you're still short, kinda like an ant," he hummed, patting my head. My eyebrows creased together in irritation, this was a habit the taller boy had when we were back in middle school and I have to say it still pisses me off.
"Oh yeah well at least I'm not as stupid as you," I huffed, creasing my eyebrows into a frown "And can you stop patting me like a dog!"
"Woah, sorry Hina-chin I'm only trying to be nice, are you mad because you fell over" He questioned, confused.
"No, i'm mad because I'm hungry and-"
The loud noise of a phone beeping stopped me halfway. With a sigh, the giant took out his phone and let out a large groan.
"Ehh Muro-chin changed our meeting spot again, now I have to bus to the other side of town, and I have no snacks, Hina-chin you have money don't ya?"
I curled a brow replying with a simple nod.
This is so awkward
"Alright then let's go," The taller sighed, turning around from the direction he came.
"Huh? What I'm not going with you Murasakibara,"
"You owe me snacks, after all, you did ruin all of mine," He started looking over his shoulder glaring "and if you don't I'll crush you,"
I felt all the colour drain from my face nodding my weak reply.
"Aha I'm kidding you look like you're going to poop yourself," he snorted slightly amused when I joined his side.
This is going to be a long LONG day.

Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.
