《Fallen Miracles》Special Guest- Chapter thirteen

"And next thing I knew I fell flat on my face right in front of him! Ugh, I wanted to die right there and then!" Natsu cried, covering her face with her hands, her orange bangs falling in front of her face slightly. Thankfully dinner had been going really well; everyone was getting along better than I imagined everything felt relaxed and almost homely?
"Oooh sounds like someones got a little crush," I teased, nudging her in the ribs softly.
"Sh-shut up boke!" She snapped, hitting me back playfully on the shoulder.
"Shoyo, do I need to remind you of what you were like before I asked you out?" Kageyama asked, raising a sly eyebrow in my direction.
Natsu's head shot up almost immediately, a cheeky grin replacing the redness of her cheeks. "Yes, Kageyama you do! Actually, you know you could also tell me some of those stories,"
"I- huh! What is this? Gang up on Shoyo day! Yama you're MY boyfriend you should be backing me up and teasing her not the other way around," I huffed, pouting my lips like a 5-year-old making Yama chuckle.
"Maybe another time Natsu," he said, sending her a knowing smirk.
I swear these two are getting on a little too well.
At that moment both of my parents walked into the room arm in arm smiling
"Well, I'm glad everyone's getting along," My mom beamed.
"Likewise." My dad nodded. Haruto Hinata, my father, is a very well-known and respected businessman in Tokyo. He is one of the higher-ups of a very powerful company which I suppose is one of the reasons he has such high expectations for me and Natsu. In terms of appearance, I guess you could say that he's the taller, more mature-looking version of me. Wide brown eyes and wild red-hair put me next to him and we would look like clones.
"Thank you so much for the food Mr Hinata, it was amazing and thank you for having me it really is a pleasure,"
"Thank you I'm glad you boys enjoyed it and please Kageyama, Haruto is just fine," he began smiling at all of us "Why don't you all come into the lounge so we can talk more comfortably, there is a surprise coming later as well for the homecoming of our son so I hope you're excited."

Kageyama and I shared a confused glance. He shrugged his shoulders soI turned to face him and nodded with a bright smile.
"Ok yeah sure," I said, pushing myself up from the table to follow them.
Walking through the door we were met with a large open area with warm natural light flowing in. Pictures of younger Natsu and I decorated the walls completing the cosy feel of the room. Placed in the middle of the room sat a large matching lounge suite that surrounded a small coffee table which much to my demise was stacked with old dusty books, boxes filled with tapes and folders that had been neatly arranged in a particular order.
No no no no anything but those books. Why mom...
I could feel the amused stare of my parents burning into the back of Natsu and my head. Who knew they still had the nerve to pull out these damn books when people came around. Honestly, this is like the highest form of embarrassment.
"So Kageyama since you are now a part of the family, Haru and I thought that we should keep up this little tradition we have," Mom said with a slight chirp in her voice.
"When someone new enters the family we like to reminisce and what better to do that with baby photos and home videos!" Dad exclaimed, walking over to Natsu and I and draping his arms over our slumped photos.
Natsu let out a grumble "It's not even tradition! You guys just like embarrassing us!"
"Yeah! Do we even get a say in this?" I said shooting a glare.
"Oh come on Sho! We aren't embarrassing you, we are simply showing the pride we have in our kids," Mom replied a bit too defensively making me cringe slightly. Letting out a defeated fine I flopped down on the couch, Kageyama quickly following suit. This is going to be a long night...
---------------------
"Oh, Kageyama look at this one! Wasn't he just adorable!" Mom cooed, pointing at a photo of a younger me grinning like there was no tomorrow dressed in a Golden State basketball kit, the shorts reaching my mid shins.

"He was the cutest. I don't know why I haven't seen some of these photos before."
"We got him that on one of my business trips to America," My dad added leaning over my shoulder to get a better view of the picture, "Golden State was Sho's favourite NBA team back then, right Sho?"
I grunted in response and loudly flipped the page of the black memory book that sat in my lap. My eyes scanned the page casually before being drawn to a particular one in the top right corner. There stood 7 boys smiling widely in front of a scoreboard; all in matching blue and white basketball kits holding up peace signs. They had just won their first major competition with a score of 92 - 17. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, 2 Blues and Purple. The Generation of Miracles. I let my finger run over the thin film that was covering the picture, tracing the smiles on our faces. As I continued to flip the pages each time more and more photos of past trainings, competitions and outings popped up. It was as if a tsunami of memories hit me at once and after that I couldn't stop. It was like a switch had flipped in my head and I wanted to remember everything. I was just so curious.
A head laid itself on my shoulder softly, the raven hair tickling my cheek slightly.
"Is that them?" Kageyama whispered, pointing at a group photo of us at the convenience store. I nodded a silent yes, leaning my head down to touch his.
"You all look so young. I mean look at you and Kuroko you guys look even more like ants than you do now," He said chuckling when I slapped his arm.
"I will have you know we were quite strong back then," I huff, blowing my bangs making them drift upwards slightly.
"I don't doubt that at all."
Before I could reply a loud knock sounded from the front door making everyone jerk their heads up. Dad sprung up from his seat and briskly made his way to the door. The sound of his hushed voice echoed slightly in the foyer but his words were faint and hazy. I raised a curious eyebrow towards my sister and Kageyama who both looked equally confused at the sudden interruption. I wonder who it could be at this hour. Mom had significantly straightened her posture turning my confused look into a frown.
After a few minutes of waiting, not so patiently, my father finally re-entered the room, all of the attention turned to him.
A light smile formed on his lips as he began to speak. "Now everyone I have a surprise for you all that I'm sure you will all appreciate," He started his eyes locking onto mine. I could tell everything he was about to say is for me to hear. "To celebrate the homecoming of my son we have a special guest here to announce some news."
Special guest? What the hell is he going on about? Maybe Aunt Kanna and Hikari came up for a visit. No... Aunt Kanna is working. Who else could it be then?
As if on cue a tall man dressed in a designer suit entered the lounge stopping at my dad's side. The aura radiating off of the man had turned the air almost as heavy as lead. I squinted slightly. If it was any other person I would have been scared shitless but for some reason I... knew this person. From where though? I desperately tried sorting through my memories but to no avail until it hit me.
"R-raijin?" I stuttered in disbelief.
No way w-what's he doing here?
"Good to see you again too orange, I've come to take you back with me" He smirked
"Take me? What do you mean take me? Take me back where?"
"Why take you to see Akaashi-sama of course. He's been waiting for you."

8 106A Wish Fulfilled
The die is cast and omnipotent beings bow to the result. The world holds still in anticipation of a new actor. A man shall be ripped from his safe reality and cast upon new tapestry, familiar yet alien. His body will be reforged in flames of adversity. His mind, challenged, by crashing waves of doubt. And his soul will dance, to the amusement of those who observe. “Welcome, castaway, to the new world. Partake in its bounties and revel in its beauty, but be mindful of dangers. Your will is unbound and trials aplenty. The wish carried you here and you will define yourself anew. Live, as you see fit. Now, that the contract is fulfilled, it’s time. We shall not meet again, nor will you remember me. Farewell.” A falling star lights the skies and the die continues to roll. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
