《Fallen Miracles》Wise words- Chapter eleven

"Sorry everyone," I grumbled while the pressure of a hand on the back of my head pushed me into a 90 degree angled bow. Daichi glared at me from above, making me want to break out in shivers. Because of my absence during our last game of the day we lost, quite badly and of course since I left us one sub short I got the pleasure of doing 3 extra flying laps while everyone watched. Talk about embarrassing... After that a long disgruntled lecture was heard from not only Coach and Daichi but Suga and Takeda as well! Let me tell you that's something you'd never want to experience.
Once everyone had been lectured out, all the teams headed over to the cafeteria for dinner. Inside the large white room multiple benches and tables lined the vast hall while the team managers placed large trays of food on large buffet tables. Various foods could be smelt, however, one thing in particular caught the eye of many hungry volleyball players... meat. I swear I could hear the angels singing for joy as soon as my eyes made contact with the tray that contained the different arrays of beef, pork and chicken. The sheer sight of it was sending everyone into an animalistic frenzy with drool gathering at the corner of most lips. Tanaka and Noya broke out into a song about barbeques while Kageyama aimlessly danced along to it earning a concerned look from the surrounding teams.
"Alright boys, who's hungry!" One of the Shinzen managers yelled, drawing the attention of the ever growing crowd.
"Itadakimasu!" Thundered through the room as the stampede of hungry teenage boys crowded the steaming food. Loud chatter and laughs reverberated around the room as the teams started to mingle amongst each other. On one side Bokuto, Daichi and Kuroo were harassing Tuski and Kenma about not eating enough while on the other Kageyama could be seen choking on the food he had been chowing down.
Very soon mostly everyone had dispersed either to retire for the night or for a few more hours of training before heading off to sleep. I placed my hand on my stomach, delicately patting it. It had been a while since I had had such a good meal. Reaching for my pocket I pulled out my phone and flipped it open and started to scroll through my contacts.
Gah! I was supposed to make this call ages ago! God she's so going to overreact like usual.. I mentally groaned as I finally located the contact I was looking for.
"Hey shrimpy! Me and Mr Owl over here were thinking of going and doing some blocking practise with a few of the other guys if you're up for it," Kuroo spoke with a bright smile.
"Yeah sounds good! I'll meet you guys down there in a sec, I just have to make a quick call!" I say waving at them. Seeing them grin and walk away I turned back to my now dimming phone screen clicking on the contact I was meant to facetime. I briskly walked out of the building finding a vacant bench, plonking myself down while I waited for the person on the other end to pick up.

After a few seconds of the phone ringing I was met with a blurry picture and deafening squeal that I swear almost popped my eardrum. It seemed a little someone had gotten a hold of her mother's phone and was now running away with it causing an absolute ruckus in her wake.
"Shoyoooooo! Shoyo Shoyo Shoyo! Hiiiiii, you didn't call me you meanie," The little red head cried as she ran into the living room knocking a basket of her toys over. In the background I could hear the loud curses of a tired mother trying to catch her over excited daughter.
"Hikari Hinata, get back over here with my phone! Mommy wants to talk to Shoyo too!" My Aunt pouted while Hikari giggled, turning the camera around so I was sort of face to face with Aunt Kanna who was piling the discarded toys in her arms. When I say I almost burst out laughing I mean it. Her usually well maintained hair was pulled back into a messy looking bun, food stains from making dinner covered her apron. In short she looked like she had a wrestling match at a daycare center which I guess she kind of had in a way. Hikari must be giving her a difficult time. I expected nothing less from that firecracker honestly.
Once both of the girls had settled themselves down on the couch we finally were able to have a conversation.
"So how's Tokyo Sho? It sounds like it's quite hot up there? Seen any familiar faces yet?" Aunt Kanna asked stretching her arms to rest behind her head while Hikari desperately tried to climb higher on her mom as if she was looking for something
"Shoyooooo did you get me a present yet? I can't see anythingggg."
"Hmmm I can't quite remember. You know I've been really busy.. All those sweets and candy I bought might be all eaten up by the time I get home, and I think Kageyama wants to steal the plushies I bought too, especially the unicorn one."
"If a precious unicorn is on the line Kags is gonna have to deal with me first!" Hikari declared, punching a small fist into the palm of her free hand.
Hehehe have fun with Kags.
"I bet you haven't got anything for your poor, tired Aunt who has been oh so kind to you!"
"Yes Auntie I got you something too." I say, shaking my head. Still as over dramatic as always
"Oh Shoyo! You shouldn't have that, it's just so thoughtful of you! Anyway it's getting late Hikari, I think you should go get ready for bed."
"Awww but I wanna talk to Sho more!" The smaller girl whined folding her arms and huffing.
"Now, now my love, we've been running around, playing all day so I think it's time for Mommy to relax. Come back out when you're ready and Shoyo and I will tuck you in ok?"
"Fine but Shoyo you better be there!"

"Don't worry Sunshine I'll be there," I say, beaming when my cousin skips happily out of the lounge and down the hallway to turn in for the night. Silence engulfs me and my Aunt as we both stare off into the distance enjoying each other's company even with the big distance between us. Moments like these with my Aunt were the one that I will always treasure. We sit like this for a few more seconds until Aunt Kanna decides to break the silence.
"So have you seen anyone you know?" She asks cautiously. The events that went on during my time here in Tokyo when I was younger have obviously always been a sensitive subject and normally I would either reacti one of two ways. Number 1: Avoid speaking about it at all costs or number 2: Shut down, so I understand Aunt Kanna's hesitancy in talking about it.
"Y-yeah I have actually... Kuroko, Aomine and Momoi. Obviously that's more of them than I would have hoped, but I can't say that the encounters were awful.."
"I'm glad to hear that you got along for the most part my darling. Does this mean that you've changed your mind on how you see them?"
"Errr I mean they all still have the same idea about basketball so for that my thoughts haven't changed but the ones that I have see I'm glad that their personalities are somewhat the same,"
"I see, I see. Hey Shoyo, can I ask you something?"
"Anything Kanna,"
"Have you... have you gone to see your parents at all..."
I felt all the bones in my body stiffen. My parents. The ones who sent me away for not being able to fulfill their wishes and their dreams. The ones that didn't even stop to ask their own son what he wanted in life. Not once did those people ever consider what I was going through. A lot can change in three years. I don't even think they know that I have a boyfriend or that I'm gay. I haven't seen them in person in over three years so why is Kanna bringing them up now. I blocked them for a reason.
"Um no no I haven't seen them and I don't plan on doing so, why do you ask?"
"It's just that they've been calling me non-stop after they found out that you're back in Tokyo and they asked if you would wanna meet up with them."
"Well why haven't they asked me themselves?" I spit. Seriously, they haven't made any effort to contact me these last few years and now they are indirectly asking me to meet up with them. The audacity.
"Well Shoyo they tried calling you, multiple times actually but it seems that they got a message along the lines of 'The number you have dialed is unavailable please try again at a later date.' I can't believe you blocked your own parents, Shoyo. Can you get any more petty?!"
Uh oh...
"Aunt Kanna, I'm sorry! But really just didn't want to be reminded of-"
"Shoyo Hinata stop right there. You know I love you so so much, I think of you as my own child and I cherish all of the memories I have with you and the achievements you have gained while staying with me. But right now I can not express how disappointed I am in you."
"D-disappointed... why?"
"Shoyo, the world is so much bigger than all of that baloney. Things aren't always gonna go to plan and that's just how it is. I've stood by you but I can no longer watch you act this way. Acting as if everything that happened with you parents and with your friends is like something taboo. So I know what you went through was a difficult time, but if you keep pushing that part of your life away without embracing it then you will never grow to your full potential. Sure it's not something to be proud of but going through those events is what made you who you are today. Your parents have done nothing but love you and your sister their whole life. Even if they were out of line and harsh they still love you and no matter what the least you can do is give them a chance."
Leaning back on the bench I looked up at the clear sky letting out a deep sigh. Deep down I knew what Aunt Kanna was saying was true but would I be able to face them? Especially Natsu, I mean I've been a terrible brother to her. Ugh why do I realise things so late!
"When did you become so wise Aunt Kanna?" I chuckle bringing my legs up to my chest and placing my phone in between my legs.
"Become wise? Darling I've always been wise! I can't believe you haven't noticed!" Aunt Kanna smiled, lightening the mood by like 1000 times.
"I'll pay them a visit I promise,"
"Thank you Shoyo,"
"Mommy! I'm ready for bed. Is Sho still there, I wanna say goodnight!" Hikari asked as she rubbed her eyes trying to pass off that she was less tired than she actually was.
"I'm still here sweetie. You going to bed now?"
"Yeah after Mom reads me a story! Will you stay for that?"
"Oh I wish I could Kari but I have some friends waiting to practise with me! I'll make sure to call you when i'm free next ok?"
"Aww ok... Well do your best ok! Goodnight I love you!" Hikari hummed holding up her hands that made the shape of a heart which I of course matched making her giggle.
"Goodnight you two I love you both!" I spoke before pushing the button to hang up.
What a day.

If you were to visit you'd find and small rip in space-time leading to the most bizarre and out of place thing you have ever seen. A solar system consisting of five planets, all with life, all stuck in conflict, and all absolutely bursting with energy. For some it seems like a paradise. A land of sword and sorcery? Why would anyone pass that up? That was the thought process of the freshly dead boy. This boy, like many before him and many after him, was trying to find the bright side. Things had finally been going right for him, good grades, new friends, and best of all a girlfriend when the entire world ended. No huff, no puff, just poof the end. At least being reborn into this world would be fun. That definitely sounded like a bright side to most. Fracture, one of the five worlds in question, was massive and full of magic.
