《Fallen Miracles》Explanation- Chapter 8

"Hinata boke... we need to talk."
I flinched when I heard the serious tone that laced my boyfriend's voice. What they just witnessed is probably something they would have never expected to see from me. I'm sure Kuroko has filled them in on some basic details for me so I guess all the nitty-gritty stuff is up to me.
"Come on Hinata-kun I'll help you explain," Kuroko said as he placed his surprisingly warm hand on my shoulder. Slumping my head in an attempt to hide the conflicted look my face was sporting I mumbled a quiet ok before leading everybody towards a tree to shield us from the heat of the now visible sun. It's funny how the weather can change in the blink of an eye. It's kind of like how I was feeling when I was playing Kagami. There's no way to really explain it except for the simple fact that I felt like I was complete. My love of basketball is still there and it has been for a long while the only difference is today... I had fun playing against Kagami. Even if I did destroy him but I mean who's really paying attention to details right?
Once everyone had found a seat in the shade I felt all eyes turn in my direction making me gulp anxiously.
Where do I even start? Maybe from the start. Wait like the start start or where everything started to go downhill? Ahh, am I overthinking this? I'm definitely overthinking this maybe it will be easiest if I just blurt everything out at once then it will all be out in the open and off my chest. Gah! I-
"Boke calm down. You're overthinking everything I can tell. We just want to know what's going on. Kuroko already told us about the Generation of Miracles so just tell us what you want us to know." Kageyama said, his tone calm as he began to rub soothing circles on my hand which made my heart rate slow slightly.
Exhaling deeply I shuffled myself into Kageyama's lap and cuddled close to him. The worried eyes of my teammates burning holes into my face. The light sensation of the raven-haired boy playing with hair made the experience a lot less intimidating as I began to tell the story of my life.
" Um... well I guess you already know that I was part of the Generation of Miracles when I was in middle school so um... I actually was born and raised here in Tokyo and lived with my Mom, Dad, and little sister Natsu. I was sent to Miyagi in my second year of middle school." This comment confused the group of course because they all thought that the little girl back in Miyagi was my sister.

"Yeah," I said scratching the back of my head, "Hikari is actually my cousin and Aunt Kanna is well my Aunt."
"If she's your cousin I can only imagine what your actual sister is like," Tsukishima remarked while I stuck my tongue out at him.
"I'll have you know that Saltyshima, my sister, is a wonderful young lady... Although I haven't actually spoken to her since I've left... or anyone from Tokyo for that matter. Not directly anyway."
"Huh wait... so your family cut you off? And you haven't spoken to them in almost three years?" Suga asked, concerned mother was written all over his face.
"Oh no I wouldn't say they cut me off. It's more that we lost touch over the years. From what I assume my parents became more involved with their lives and Natsu's here while I became more focused on my life with you guys. I know it sounds quite bad but it's nothing serious. When I left Tokyo things were strained between us but I don't think that that is the cause for our lack of contact. Priorities change I guess?"
"How have your priorities changed?" Daichi asked.
"Easy. When I was living here all I focused on was pleasing my parents. Meeting their high expectations that were too high to be met, no matter what I did nothing was ever good enough. But when I moved to Miyagi I got to focus on the things that I found important, like you guys, Aunt Kanna and Hikari and Kageyama," I said smiling up and the raven-haired boy behind me, " I got to enjoy myself. This might not make sense but for the first time in a while, I have felt the most alive I have felt and honestly it's mostly thanks to you guys."
Low sniffles could be heard coming from Tanaka and Noya. My mini heartfelt speech really must have struck a note with them.
"Ok that was a great little moment you had there shrimpy but I have two questions. If you were part of one of the greatest middle school basketball teams in Tokyo why did you get sent to Miyagi and secondly if you really were a part of the Generation Of Miracles what exactly is your "power" because quite frankly you suck at, well, most things in volleyball so why don't you just use that said power in volleyball?" Tsukishima huffed, letting out an exasperated sigh clearly he was getting impatient with my beating around the bush. He probably only wants to know all the information to use as blackmail or something.
Damn Salty-bastard!
I gulped before shooting him a quick glare.
"I- um well..."

S-shit these were the two questions I have been most nervous about...
"Shoyo-kun, simply state the fact, don't force yourself to go into detail if you aren't comfortable. Get it out of the way, I can tell this team cares deeply about you. There will be no judgments." Kuroko encouraged, trying to add a soothing tone to his famously monotone voice.
"R-right right. So um the reason I got sent to Miyagi was because of my behavior in school at the time. I was skipping class, getting into fights, failing classes, and of course, skipping basketball practice. The reason being I had lost the love I had for Basketball. Playing in that team of monsters was really disheartening for me especially since everyone around me just seemed to be fine with it. The main reason I transferred was because of my last day. When I got into a physical fight with one of my former teammates. That was the day I got kicked off the team for beating his ass. My parents were not impressed of course and honestly, at that point, I don't blame them. Then the next day they sat me down and told me I was off to Miyagi. Of course, now I completely regret everything I did to him, I was angry which is no excuse but you know it is what it is."
The deafening silence spoke louder than words they could speak. Everyone was rightfully shocked at the newfound intel that they now had on my life and it looked as though some people were having a hard time comprehending it. Take Yams, for instance, to put it simply it looked like his brain was in self-destruct mode while Kageyama was sporting a very proud grin. He's probably proud that I won the fight.
"A-and the second question?" Yams stuttered clearly still shocked that I was even able to be in a fight let alone win. Although I wouldn't really call it winning but like oh well.
"Oh um my special gift? Well... Kuroko, can you help me out here?" I pleaded. As much as I would like to answer this question, it's just so awkward. I feel like I'm bragging about myself. I know that is a pretty dumb thing to think ut I can't help it. Plus Kuroko is the most knowledgeable when it comes to the skills of the Generation of Miracles.
"Of course Shoyo-kun. Hinata's powers consist of three main parts. Firstly there is his insane jumping power. With this, he is able to stop any dunk. If I remember correctly, the last time we measured his jump height it was around 13 feet so almost at the top of the backboard. Secondly, it would be his speed and footwork. Shoyo is able to change direction even while running at top speed. When he does this it's like a bright flash of orange light that blinds you. And his final power is his ability to change the atmosphere on the court. I think Kagami-kun experienced the fog. When Shoyo gets deep into the zone he can create a kind of fog which essentially gives his opponent no chance. When they see the fog their chances of winning are at 0."
Next thing I knew I was being ripped from Kageyama's grasp and shaken by my shoulders by none other than Tanaka.
"Arghhh Hinata! What the heck, you sound like a total badass! Damn little bro, you should show off more!"
"You're, you're not mad?" I stuttered, feeling a little disoriented from the sudden movement. Tanaka stopped shaking me, a confused look on his face.
"Mad at you?" He muttered, letting Noya chime in quickly.
"Ehh! Why would we be mad?"
"Be-because! I hid stuff from you guys! I lied about like my whole life!"
"And all with a reason to it I'm sure! Hinata we get it we understand. You know everyone here was a different person before high school. Like Tanaka was a total delinquent when he first came to Karasuno, I mean he had hair and everything!" Ennoshita added, laughing when he saw Tanaka's face turn beet red.
"Hinata come on. We are a family no one cares about your past, you are a good person now and that's all that matters!" Suga affirmed, wearing his signature smile.
"Boke we love you. I love you and nothing you say will ever change that ok. Now come on we need to get back to Fukurodani." Kageyama started pushing himself up off the ground and giving me a kiss which I melted into instantly. Finally, I was free of all the burdens of my past and the feeling was revolutionary. Nothing could bring me down now.
"Like you said love-birds, it's time to go so hurry up!" Tanaka yelled from the distance. Kageyama and I broke out into chuckles before bidding farewell to Kuroko and Kagami, promising that we would meet up again before we leave.
Finally, nothing more to worry about.
