《Fallen Miracles》Why don't we have a game?- Chapter five

Hinata Pov
Today has been one of the best days I have had in a while. Yesterday when we arrived in Tokyo I definitely had my doubts about coming back. But of course, with the help of my team, I have been able to let loose and just have fun. I haven't bumped into anyone unwanted. No old school "friends", no family and no middle school basketball teammates. Today is a good day.
Walking around my old home city "sightseeing" has bought back so many good and bad memories and has honestly left me feeling a little emotional. Of course, I have been acting as if this is the first time I've seen most of the places we have been to today but I don't think anyone has been suspicious. I mean I've been acting like my loud excited self I don't think anyone has noticed anything out of the ordinary which is good. The less they know about me the better.
For the first part of the day, the whole team went to a nearby shrine to pray for good health and luck for the upcoming training camp that we are participating in. We didn't stay too long but I think we all enjoyed the peace and quiet. Next, we travelled out to Ueno Park and walked around there for a bit. I honestly forgot how minuscule the parks in Miyagi are compared to the ones here in Tokyo but they are both equally as stunning. The water was so clear it was like I was looking into a mirror. We eventually split up to go shopping for a little bit, agreeing to all meet up back at Ueno park at around 2 so we could head to Maji Burger straight afterwards.
Maji Burger has been around since I was little. I remember going there for the first time after school with my mom and sister one day when I was still in elementary school, and ordering the orange, mango and vanilla milkshake with a burger and fries. It was from that day on my family became regular customers. To think my parents you know the ones who were obsessed with my success in basketball would let me eat regularly at fast food place is saying something. It's that good. Maji burger is definitely the hidden gem of Tokyo in my eyes. Try and convince me otherwise because it won't work.
Kageyama and I wandered around the bustling streets occasionally stopping to venture into a store. By the end of our little shopping trip, I had two full bags of plushies and candy for Hikari. For Aunt Kanna I decided to get her a simple jasmine scented candle. Don't judge ok I know it's basic but what do you even buy your ridiculously overdramatic and outgoing aunt? Kageyama and I had decided to also get matching Kumihimo bracelets with the same pattern. He chose an orange and white coloured one for me while I chose a dark navy blue one for him. Hand in hand we made our way back to the said meeting spot.
Maji burger timeeeee!
The pure thought of it made me drool. Suga, Daichi, Ennoshita and Tanaka were the first to arrive with us only a few minutes behind them. In the distance, we could see the exhausted-looking ace of ours carrying a defeated libero over his shoulder with four large bags of random souvenirs ranging from plushies to tasers? I- Im not even going to ask.

"Woah what happened to you guys!" Tanaka exclaimed as the taller male set Nishinoya down eyes blazing with evident anger.
"Some lady thought he was my son who was in elementary school. Obviously, it didn't go down too well." He said looking down at the shorted male who was now pouting. Snickers erupted throughout the group as Tanaka started to tease his best friend. After a few more minutes of waiting, everyone had arrived and as a group, we all started walking in the direction of the restaurant. I forgot to eat breakfast this morning and judging by the loud sounds coming from my grumbling stomach I don't think it's happy with me.
"Are we there yet? I feel like I've just walked a marathon!" Nishinoya whined dragging his feet along the footpath.
"So hungry" Tanaka mumbled.
Just then a very familiar building came into view. It looked exactly the same as I left it. The bright neon 'M' signs, the green and white exterior with the iconic orange awning covering the door and the lively trees give the place a homely feel.
It hasn't changed a bit!
Pushing through the group I sprinted towards the entrance of the restaurant and was instantly hit with the mouth-watering aroma of fresh burgers and milkshakes. Warmth engulfed me as I took in my surroundings. Visions of old memories popped up in my head as I looked over at the booth my family would always sit in, where we celebrated multiple birthdays, wins and losses. I miss those times.
"HINATA YOU DUMBASS DON'T JUST RUNOFF WITHOUT EVERYONE LIKE THAT YOU COULD GET LOST!" Kageyama bellowed barging through the door, closely followed by everyone else.
"GAH! Kageyama we are inside a restaurant did you have to yell!" I said slightly shaken from the unexpected noise as we continued to bicker.
"Guys knock it off and go find a table people are staring at us" Daichi hissed making us shiver from the dark aura he was emitting. "I swear I can't take any of you anywhere!" He sighed striding off towards the booth where Suga and the other third years and some of the second years were sitting.
"Ugh this place doesn't even look that good" Tsukishima grumbled looking up at the menu in minor disgust.
"Tsuki look they have a strawberry shortcake!" Yamaguchi exclaimed pointing at the menu laughing when he saw Tsuki's emotionless exterior break for just a second. Strawberry shortcake and dinosaurs just so happen to be this big blonde idiots weakness.
"Hey you guys go ahead and order I'll go find us a table," I said earning a grateful smile from Yamaguchi. Kageyama was stood in front of the counter, his brows knitted together in confusion staring at the long list of milkshakes that were on offer. I giggled to myself
He's gonna be there for a while.
Third-person
After looking for a while Hinata finally came across a small table of four that was sat next to a window with no one on it.
Finally took long enough
He thought falling into the chair and letting out an exhausted sigh. While he was waiting for his friends he noticed something was off? it was as if he was being watched by someone or something.

Why does this feeling feel awfully nostalgic and not the good type either I can't put my finger on it.
"Hinata-kun?" a soft voice whispered through the noisy restaurant so that only the young spiker would be able to hear it.
AH! What was that it sounded it-it sounded like a ghost!
"Hinata-kun is that you?"
There it is again! That voice actually sounds kind of familiar...
Slowly Hinata turned his head towards the voice only to be met with a blue-haired boy with crystal blue eyes. He internally groaned.
I thought I was doing a good job avoiding the people I knew but of course, me being me I let my guard down for just a second and now look. God Shoyo stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
"K-kuroko? What are you doing here!" The ginger exclaimed jumping back and out of his seat pointing at the phantom boy who was sat in front of him
"Long time no see Shoyo." He said taking a long sip out of his vanilla milkshake, his eyes fixated on his old teammate. It was true it had been a while, ever since the incident involving Kise neither one of the boys had bothered to reach out to each other both had their own reasons of course but because of the lack of communication between them, well things felt a bit awkward, well for Shoyo at least.
"How are the others?" He asked as rubbing the back of his neck,
"If you are referring to the Generation of Miracles then all I can say is that they have improved drastically. Although I haven't spoken to the other 5 since last year. They have become monsters."
"As expected. Still playing on their own?"
"Yes. We have all gone our separate ways but I plan to take them down this season with my new team and I believe that we can beat them together." Kuroko explained receiving intent nods from Hinata who had a serious look on his face. Kuroko and Hinata have always gotten along because of the similar morals and ideas they both possess. Playing as a team and having fun were considered the most important things in their eyes.
Hinata smirked "So I assume that means you have found another light then Mr 6th Phantom."
"You would be correct in saying that Hinata-kun. Seirin has provided me with an amazing team." making the tangerine smile brightly
"So where have you-" Kuroko started before being cut off by a tray being slammed on the table. However, it was not one of Hinata's friends.
"Kuroko who the hell is this kid and why is he sitting in my seat." Growled the tall muscular redhead that was sat next to Hinata making him tremble slightly.
He's massive! And his body conditions are through the roof! He could crush my skull with his arm! And why has he got so many burgers on his tray!
"Kagami. This is Hinata one of my old teammates from middle school. Hinata this idiot is Kagami he plays basketball for Seirin as well."
"Middle school huh? Must have been tough on the bench watching the Generation of miracles. But it's to be expected a little guy like you probably wouldn't have been too much help anyway." An irk mark appeared on Hinata's temple
Is this guy for real? Why he oughta-
"Kagami. Hinata was one of the starters at Teiko."
"Huh? But that would make him-"
"The 7th member of the Generation of Miracles. Yup, that's me." Hinata said a sickly sweet smile forming on his face.
Man, this guy pisses me off. He seems very full of himself.
"But there was only six of you! Howcome there was only the rumour about the 6th member and not the 7th"
"Well, Kagami that is your name right? Eh, whatever. There was an incident back in our first year of middle school resulting in me getting kicked off of the first string team. In the middle of that year, I was sent away to live with my aunt and cousin. Our captain vowed that I would be forgotten and it did because what he says is absolute. So that is probably why you haven't heard of me." The small boy explained leaning back slightly to get a better look at the shocked expression on Kagami's face. He won't lie it gave him joy seeing the confusion on his face.
"Hinata boke!" Oh shit! "What are- who are they?" Kageyama said with his eyebrows creased together.
"U-um Kageyama this is my old friend Kuroko. He a family friend! Kuroko this is Kageyama" Hinata spluttered springing up from where he sat looping his arm through his boyfriends in an attempt to drag him away.
The violent scraping of a chair being pushed back sounded catching the attention of everyone inside the burger joint
"Oi Shrimp! Why don't you play me? If im going to take down the Generation of Miracles might as well start with you"
Hinata could feel the eyes of his team and the strangers around him burning into his skull he felt like he was going to die right there and then.
"Kagami-kun you won't win." Kuroko said bluntly "Hinata was the best of the bunch I wouldn't push him." This earnt a loud and obnoxious laugh from the taller male.
He's underestimating me Hinata though clenching his shaking fists in anger
"Hinata what is this idiot talking about? What is the Generation of Miracles?"
Hinata let out a sigh of defeat. He couldn't see any other way to avoid this.
"Kageyama, I'm sorry I haven't been very truthful with you. I will explain everything to you after I play this guy ok? Promise to hear me out?"
"What are you talking about Shoyo?"
"Just promise?"
"Ugh fine"
Hinata nodded before kissing him on the cheek and turning towards the figure who towered over him.
"One game. First to five wins. Deal?" he said sticking his hand out. The redhead grinned disregarding Hinata's hand and pushed past him.
"Deal. See you in 10 and don't be late."

Ouroboros Ascendant is a story about friends you meet on the internet, and then spend entirely too much time together hunting monsters, doing quests, earning experience, and risking your life. Except for Jack, Erin, Rory, and Layla, the video game they play together every Saturday isn’t nearly as real or as threatening as the primal world of Ayrgard. A mysterious force has drawn them across the darkness between realms for its own purposes, and they’ll need to survive monsters, politics, and a lurking threat they can’t yet imagine. In the interest of disclosure and ease of access, Ouroboros Ascendant features gay, bisexual, and straight main and supporting characters, and features elements of romance between some of those characters. I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
