《The Not So Boring Girl: Craig Tucker x NekoReader》Chapter Nine

Later that day, I found myself sitting at a table alone. I didn't want to sit with either Tweak or Craig because I knew that both would put me in a bad situation. So here I sat alone once again. It was fine, though. Having friends for a day was nice, but it was full of drama. Drama that I did not want.
"Did you pour catnip on yourself in the girls' bathroom?" a monotone voice asked.
I looked up to see Craig and my who face went red. "She said it was really good for your skin..."
He looked at me for a while longer. "So you poured it on yourself..."
"Well I uh....yeah," I quietly muttered.
He burst out laughing. "You're weird. Why are you sitting over here? Was it the catnip thing? Are you embarrassed? There is no need to be. All the guys thought it was equally as funny."
"I um- Tweak talked to me today," I said.
Craig's amusement faded quickly. "What did he say? What happened?"
"It was nothing serious. He just wanted me to start hanging out with him. That's why I didn't sit over with you guys. I just don't want to start anything," I explained.
Craig quickly sat down, keeping a serious face. "(Y/N), I'm only going to say this once, you cannot trust him. He looks like a sad, nervous, helpless boy, but he's not. He'll use that to manipulate you."
I began to get all confused with what I was supposed to be doing. I was confused with what to trust. I wanted to trust Craig, but as Tweak as bad of a guy as Craig made him seem?
"Craig, can I talk to you, like after school or something?" I asked. "I'll sit with you today, but like I really want to talk to you in private."
"I have practice, but I can come pick you up afterward?" He offered.
"My parents don't really let me leave the house late...but I could probably make something work," I smiled.
He gave me a small almost unnoticeable smile before we got up and walked to the table, where the boys continued to ask me about the catnip.

Macabre Mim
*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.
