《Normal is boring》30

"Well, girls, we are going to play our last song for you tonight." My son announces, a little tensed up, he seems nervous, Alex too. I don't pay too much attention to it.
They played a few other songs after 'In Loving Memory', I did know a few songs, the other were new for me. They played 'Blackbird' by Alter Bridge, I think that's what they are called, 'Pompeii' by Bastille and 'Born in the USA' by Bruce Springsteen. We sang along by the last two, because we knew the lyrics.
(Intro starts 1.2)
The mood was chill and happy, no stress for tomorrow. We play our first game tomorrow and Ali and I are starting. I'm playing my first World Cup game, I'm kind of nervous, but for now we are just having fun.
"I'm sure you know this song, a few of you did the song as a cover with the team." Alex says with a smirk on her face. Oh oh. "So we want you to stand up and dance, because there is a Party in the USA, well in France, but we don't care about that." She laughs.
Pinoe, Kelley and Kling are very excited, I see, gotta love them. Mal and Tiera are looking very puzzled, apparently they forgot that the team did a little dance thing of this song, it was way too funny.
"Wow, that's a long time ago, six years or something. Mal, were you even alive?" I joke at her. She is looking very pissed at me.
"Watch it, Harris." She says, trying to be serious, but failing miserably at the end. It's actually hilarious.
"Tobs, I think you should begin." States Syd.
"Why? I can't dance."
"Because you begon a few years ago too." Says Syd like it is obvious. Well, maybe it was.

Tobin seems to remind it and reminds us that she needs Cheney for it, otherwise she isn't doing it.
"We know Tobin, well, look over your shoulder please." Says my son with a smirk on his face.
What the fuck did they do now? Tobs looks over her shoulder and shrieks. Wtf?
"We know Tobin, well, look over your shoulder please." I say, trying really hard not to laugh way too hard, causing a smirk on my face.
The team is looking puzzled. Tobin looks over her shoulder and the door opens.
We were trying to make this plan work for quite a long time, Alex and I had the idea to surprise the girls with a few of the retired girls. They flew in yesterday and are in another hotel a few miles away. The plan was to do it tomorrow in the locker room after the match, but because we decided to play a little show Alex thought it was way cuter and funnier if we did it now.
There a few, well a group, of the retired girls standing in the doorway to surprise the team. ARod, Cheney, HAO, Lori (Lindsey), Hope, Abby, Shannon (Boxx), Mitts, Rampone and Whitney.
Tobin runs, yep runs, in Cheney's arms and begins crying. Mama looks at Whitney like she has seen a ghost. Pinoe seems really happy to see Lori again. Hope had a Squirrel in her arms. ARod is crushed in a hug with her fellow 'New Kids'. Mom gives Abby a long hug and does the same with Rampone and Hope.
"It seems like we did a good job Jill." My sister says.
"Thank you so much, I love you." Says mom while hugging us, mama does the same.
"You little sneaky shits." That was Pinoe yelling, obviously.

"Girls, can you sit down for a moment." Says Jill, making the girls calm down.
I start our little explanation. "Because a few of the girls wanted to come to France to watch you play and crush all the teams, we decided that we maybe could do a little surprise party for y'all. We called Jill and she agreed and mission 'Surprise the whole Freaking USWNT' started. We filmed a few parts of it, the girls did too, that's the video you will watch tomorrow in the locker room before the game. It was super fun to do and we hope you are really happy with your surprise." I end our explanation.
"Tomorrow at the game there is another surprise, but we are going to tell you today. The girls are with 10 people and Jax and Alex make 12. The starting eleven can choose who will walk with them to enter the field, and I think that someone will walk with two buddies, but we don't care." Jill explains with a smile on her face.
"What the fuck?" "Love you so much!" "Jesus Christ" "This is so cool!" "I'm so happy!" "Thank you Jill!"
The girls seem to be very happy with their surprise. They can walk out on their ex-teammates on their first World Cup game of the tournament. I can't even explain how special this is to walk out with them tomorrow. I think Alex and I walk out with mom.
While the girls are begin happy with their people, we start playing 'Party in the USA', just because we want to do it. To make it all complete. To make it a perfect day. Evening. Night.
It is all going to be okay.

Marakar
Far from the exploration he yearned to go on, Rae, the Kijah prince, finds himself in the middle of the impending war between Kijah'dar and Ga'ani. Unknown to him, or to the rest of the states, the Kijah Magister plots to overthrow the queen, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his plans. Marakar is a fantasy adventure series about the island states of Mar’narana (with focus primarily on the two states, Kijah'dar and Ga'ani). Tensions between the big players are rising, with more and more plots getting revealed, and powers are unexpectedly shifting. As the string of seemingly unconnected events grows taut, the smaller nations suddenly find themselves into the midst of things, struggling with the sudden shifting of their boards. On a more meta note, I am trying to develop two storylines parallel to each other. As you might have noticed, odd-numbered chapters are very different from even-numbered chapters. That’s because those are the two different storylines; odd-numbered chapters are in the present, while even-numbered ones are in the past. Once the two eventually meet I'll continue with just the present storyline. This story can also be found here where it currently updates every other Sunday (about twice a month). Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read. :) tw/cw list (please take care of your mental health! Don't force yourself to read these chapters if they may harm you). -------> Chapter 14: hate crime description.

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
