《Romance is Boring || Wilbur Soot x Reader》Chapter 1

I was dreaming about running through a sunny flower field with my friends when I got woken up by the most annoying sound of the world, the alarm clock. I swung my arm out of my blanket annoyed and started pressing around the screen, hopefully hitting the button to make it shut up. After a few taps I finally made it stop beeping and slowly started getting up. I stretched and yawned after dangling my legs off the edge of my bed and getting my fuzzy slippers on.

I got up and made my way towards my closet and started picking out an outfit for today, the first day at the new school. I gulped and started grabbing a pair of black jeans, and olive green hoodie and underwear. I walked into my bathroom and took a quick refreshing shower and started putting my clothes on afterwards. I brushed my hair let it open because I thought that it looked the best that way.

Usually I don't put a lot of Make-Up on, but today I had to look good, so I put on a little more than most of the time. Whilst putting on my mascara and eyeliner I listened to the 'Romance is Boring Cover by Wilbur Soot' and sang along. When I was done I grabbed my favourite necklace, that my mom gave me for my birthday last year and put it on. It's silver and has a little music note hanging on it because I was in the music club of my previous school and music has been my passion since I was 6 years old. It's always been my biggest dream to become a famous musician when I'm older. Plan B would be becoming a Youtuber and Streamer which wouldn't be so bad either but my mom always tells me that it's not a real job and I can't make any profit out of it, maybe she's right...

"Y/n, breakfast is ready!" my mom yelled from downstairs.

"I'm almost done, I'll be right down there mom!" I yelled back.

I rushed out of the bathroom and grabbed my backpack and stuffed some books inside of it since I don't know what classes I'm going to have today. I grabbed my phone and headphones aswell and went downstairs and put my bag next to the shoe rack. I greeted my mom with a hug and a 'Good morning' which she gave back in return. I sat down and started eating the freshly-made pancakes, took a few sips from my coffee and thanked my mom for the delicious breakfast.

"Are you excited for your new school hun?" she asked whilst reading the newspaper.

"Yeah, I'm pretty excited but also very nervous...what if nobody will like me or worse, what if I get bullied?" I hysterically asked.

"Sweetie you need to calm down, I'm sure no one will bully you there, and if they do then please tell a teacher right away. And who cares if people like you or not? They don't know you or anything about you so they can't just start judging you for no reason. They aren't worth getting nervous about y/n. You understand?" she calmy said.

Her words calmed me down and I simply answered "I understand...thanks mom, I really needed that right now.".

She said "That's what mothers are for y/n." and chuckled a bit afterwards.

I finished my pancakes and took the last sip of my coffee after looking at the clock that was hanging right at the wall in the dining room. I got up and grabbed my empty plate, mug and everything else and put it in the dishwasher. Then I put on my Vans and a black denim jacket, grabbed my backpack and put it on and hugged my mom one last time.

{The whole outfit together}

"Best of luck Sweetie, you're gonna rock this!" she said after we let go of eachother.

"I hope so..." I said and walked out the door and made my way over to the bus stop.

When I got there, there was nobody else there, which was good because it's always really awkward to stand at a bus stop with one other person and you don't want to make a sound otherwise the person will literally stare right through you...

I got pulled out of my thoughts when the school bus pulled up infront of me and opened it's doors. The bus driver just looked at me without any emotions showing when I got on the bus so I gave him a quick smile back.

I walked along the small aisle, passing some people staring at me and putting their bags on the free seats next to them. Just when I thought I had to stand and hold on to one of the seats for the ride, a pretty brown-haired girl tapped my shoulder and offered me the seat next to her, which I gladly took.

"I've never seen you on this bus before, are you new here? And if you are, then welcome to the hell of a school!" she jokingly said.

Before saying anything I just laughed a little bit and said "I'm indeed new here and thank you for informing me that the school is hell before I even got there. My name's Y/n, and yours is...?" I replied.

"You're very welcome. I'm Cassandra but you can call me Cas if you want to. And oh! Your name is really beautiful." she said whilst smiling at me.

"It's nice to meet you Cas, thank you for the compliment but I must say, your name is waaaaay prettier than mine. Also, thank you for letting me sit here. Everybody else just asked like a complete asshole and put their bags next to them and stared at me..." I said and rolled my eyes at the end, which made her laugh.

"Thank you for saying that. I saw what they did and that's the reason I despise some of these human beings on this bus. On my first day a very kind girl let me sit next to her so it was only fair to keep the 'tradition' going. Nobody should be standing in the aisle when there are so many free seats everywhere." she chuckled.

"Not gonna lie, you made this day start better than I expected it to. So thank you Cas!"

"Aww, you're welcome girl!"

We continued talking to eachother and ended up exchanging numbers so we could text after school or during class. When we were discussing about who the best Marvel superhero is, we came to the agreement that Spider-Man was the one we could relate to the most and also, Tom Holland's hella hot, which gave him extra points. In the end we did'nt really know who exactly one because we drifted off topic and started talking about how cute Tom Holland was...

Suddenly the bus came to an halt and people started pushing eachother around to get off the bus quicker. We just sat there and waited for those big children to get off so we could peacefully get off the bus. After that was said and done we made our way through groups of people and the closer we got to the entrance, the more nervous I got, which Cassandra apparently noticed because I kept moving my hands around eachother.

"Hey, y/n. Calm down, no need to worry because the big and strong Cassandra is here to protect you at all cost!" she said and laughed.

I joined in on the laughter and replied with "Wow! I'm so lucky to have you Cassandra, without you I'd be totally lost and probably already dead! But wait...you said at all cost, even if it means you can't meet Tom Holland?".

"Ye-Wait! No!! Are you out of your mind sis? As much as I love you, I have to meet Tom Holland. I'm sure you can understand that. Riiiiiiight?" she said and made innocent puppy eyes and fake frowned.

"Bruh, that was like a hit in the face Cas but yes, I can understand your decision because I would do the exact same. No hate girl, now stop with the puppy eyes." I said and we both started laughing.

Somehow that managed to calm me down and stop getting worried. My mom's right, who cares if they like me or not. They aren't worth it.

We were right infront of the front door when Cassandra asked me "Ready?". I shortly exhaled and said "Ready." and we made our way into the building.
