《Easy Is Boring ✓》Chapter Nine

"Beck," Jade murmured, running her fingers through his hair. "What happened?"

Beck sighed shakily, breathing in the vanilla scent of her hair that he had missed so much.

"My parents."

"What happened with your parents?"

"They hate me," he mumbled into her neck, liking the feeling of her fingers stroking his hair.

Jade hummed. "They don't hate you, Beck."

"Yes they do."

"They're your parents, Beck," she reminded him. "Losing a child is hard. And I know that's not an excuse, but still. Ben was their first child. His death is probably still hard on them."

Beck nodded, not in the mood to argue. He just wanted her to hold him.

"They love you," she continued softly. "They'll come around."

He unburied his face from her neck and looked at her. "Promise?"

"I promise."

Beck felt vulnerable. He hated being vulnerable, almost as much as Jade did.

But he would do absolutely anything to have Jade holding him like this everyday, comforting him as he did for her.

"So," Jade spoke, looking into his chocolate brown eyes. "You good now?"

Beck chuckled softly. "Yeah. I am. Thank you."

"Yeah, yeah. Don't mention it."

The gang all watched the two in awe, shock evident in their faces.

"They really are perfect for each other, huh?" Tori smiled, looking at Andre, who smiled at her.

"Yeah. They are, aren't they?"

"They need to get back together," Cat said, looking at Robbie beside her. "Can't they see how much they need each other?"

Robbie wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close to him, which she didn't object. "They'll get back together. Eventually."

"How are you so sure?"

Robbie smiled down at the adorable red head. "Because they're Beck and Jade."

"I miss her," Beck groaned, burying his face in one of Tori's pillows.

Tori chuckled, sighing softly as she sat next to him. "She was here literally five minutes ago."

Beck looked up at the Latina. "No, I mean I miss her. I want her back, Tor."

The brunette shrugged. "Then go get her back."

"What if she won't take me back?"

Tori let out a breath through her nose, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "She will, Beck. She loves you. She'd be dumb not to take you back."

Beck smiled. "Thanks, Tor. You're a great friend."

"Thanks. I try."

"So," he wiggled his eyebrows. "You and Andre, huh?"

Tori blushed, smiling a bit. "Yeah...I like him."

Beck laughed softly. "He likes you too."

Her eyes lit up. "He does?"

Beck nodded, his tongue darting out to wet his lips. "Yep. Don't tell him I told you though. I promised to keep it a secret."

Tori grinned happily. "Don't worry, I won't tell him you told me. But how do I ask him out?"

"Write him a song," Beck shrugged. "Or something. I don't know. But I can assure you that however you ask, he'll definitely say yes."

"Thanks Beck!" Tori exclaimed, hugging the tanned-skin Canadian tightly.

He laughed. "No prob, Tor."

"Beck loves you, Beck loves you, Beck loves- "

"Cat!" Jade yelled, cutting the red head off. "Stop it."

"Okay." Cat giggled. "Beck loves you!"

"Ugh!"

"Can't deny the truth, Jadey," Cat sing-songed, rushing out of the car as Jade pulled up back to Cat's house.

Jade rolled her eyes and followed Cat into the house.

The perky red head ran to the oven, letting out a sigh or relief when she saw it was off.

"Calm down," Jade chuckled, turning the oven back on to let the cupcakes cook longer. "I'm not stupid enough to leave the oven on."

"Just makin' sure."

After about fifteen minutes, the cupcakes were ready to eat.

Jade pulled the pan out of the oven and set it on the counter, placing two on a plate for Cat, who took it happily and hurried to the living room.

Jade took a look at the red velvet cupcakes, wondering if she should eat one or not.

I've been doing fine with eating salads everyday, she thought to herself. One cupcake couldn't hurt, right?

She let out a sigh. No. I can't.

The goth looked at Cat, who was watching The Little Mermaid while munching on her second cupcake.

I swear, she could eat fifty of these cupcakes and not gain a single pound.

Jade shook her head, walking to the living room while her stomach grumbled.

"Did you already eat a cupcake?" Cat asked her innocently, not taking her eyes off of the TV screen.

Jade shrugged. "Something like that. Just watch the movie."

"Kay-kay."

After the movie ended, Cat fell asleep on the couch, causing Jade to roll her eyes.

She pulled a blanket over her best friend and turned off the TV, running her fingers through her hair. Standing up, she walked upstairs to Cat's bedroom.

Eh, she won't mind if I sleep in her bed, the goth thought silently, climbing into Cat's bed and pulling the blankets over her body.

Her thoughts wandered to Beck, as they did every night.

She missed him.

So much.

It hurt without him. And that night where she held him just made it worse.

She needed him, even if he didn't need her.

She couldn't wait for the Full Moon Jam. To sing the song for him.

To prove just how much he meant to her.

Because he meant absolutely everything to her, and at this point, she wasn't scared to admit it.

She would scream it to the entire world, if it meant getting Beck back.

Call her a sap, she didn't care. When it came to the guy she loved, she could be the biggest sap there was.

Their break-up was hard, for the both of them. It hurt for one to be away from the other.

But Jade hoped that they will find their way back to each other.

No matter what.
